LEXINGTON PARK, Md. - Services for Delmas Woodroe "Woody" Marshall, 56, who passed away Tuesday (Nov. 15, 2005), will be conducted in the chapel of Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, Va., at 11 a.m. today with Rev. Steve Collins officiating.

Albert Mullins Jr., 65, Pound, Va.
POUND, Va. - Albert Mullins Jr., 65, passed away Sunday (Nov. 20, 2005) at Bristol Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Albert attended the Church of God of Prophecy, was a former coal miner, a former security guard at the Holiday Inn in Norton and was a life-time member of the Pound Rescue Squad.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Mullins Sr.; and a son-in-law, Monroe Meade.
Surviving are his wife, Christene Tucker Mullins, Pound, Va.; mother, Nannie Beverly, Pound, Va.; daughters, Rebecca Grace Mullins, Haysi, Va., Linda Lou Dingus, Charlotte Meade and Melissa Renee Dingus, all of Pound, Va.; sons, Larry Wayne Mullins and Barry Allen Mullins, both of Pound, Va.; sisters, Wilma Jean Barry, Lorene Mathias and Loretta Phillips, all of Pound, Va., and Helen Diane Smith, Axton, Va.; brothers, Douglas Mullins, Edward Mullins and Gary Mullins, all of Pound, Va., Rodney Mullins, Fredericksburg, Va., and Ronnie Neil Mullins, Norton, Va.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn his passing.
Calling hours are after 4 p.m. today at Baker Funeral Home, Pound, Va., with an evening service at 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Sadie Baker Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Pat Dockery, the Rev. Tony Burke and Evangelist Donald Harding officiating.
Interment will be in the Robert Shortt Family Cemetery, Pound, Va.
Pallbearers will be sons-in-law and grandsons.
Sybble Payne, 68, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Sybble Dixon Payne, 68, passed away Monday morning (Nov. 21, 2005) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Scott County, Va. (Clinchport), Sybble had lived in Kingsport since an early age. She was of the Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Dixon and Ollie Bishop Dixon; one sister and two brothers.
Surviving are her husband, Roy Payne, of the home; daughter, Teresa Palmer and husband Ed of Kingsport; sons, Buddy Payne and wife Brenda, Kingsport and Calvin Payne, Knoxville; grandchildren, David Palmer, Rachel Palmer, Emily Palmer, Jacob Payne and Russell Payne; sister, Kathleen Crabtree, Kingsport; brothers, Leonard Dixon and wife Shirley, Kingsport and Eddie Dixon, Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 7 p.m. today with the Rev. Joe Heflin officiating.
Music will be by Jack and Wilma Benton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Choptack cemetery in Rogersville. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

M. J. (Marion) Peters, 68, Weber City, Va.
"Our Beloved Angel"
BRISTOL, Tenn. - M.J. (Marion) Peters, 68, of State Street, formerly of Weber City, Va., went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning (Nov. 19, 2005) after an illness.
Born April 23, 1937, in Scott County, Va., he was a son of the late Charles W. Sr., and Ellen M. Gillenwater Peters.
He was a 1955 graduate of the Shoemaker High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a chemical operator from the Tennessee Eastman Corp. after 21 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Holston View United Methodist Church, where he was the "pillar" of the church. He served as chairman of the administrative council, superintendent of Sunday School, Sunday School teacher, and was on various committees of church business.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Trent Peters; two brothers, Conor and Charles Peters; and two sisters, Mildred Catron and Una V. Peters.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly Ann Petersm of the home; four daughters, Donna McAninch and husband, Allen of Bluff City, Rose Ann Graham and husband, Ronnie of Raleigh, N.C., Teresa Dixon and husband, Johnny of Parrottsville, Tenn., and Sondra Peters Rhoton of Weber City, Va.; two sons, Ben Johnson of Fostonia, Ohio and Jeffrey Peters and wife, Sabrina of Church Hill; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nina Quillen of Weber City, Va., Alma Martin and husband Eddie of Kingsport, and Mary Ann Poling and husband, Gary of Beckley, W.Va.; one brother, Winston Peters and wife Ruby, Weber City, Va. He was dearly loved by several nieces, nephews and other family members and many friends.
Interment services will be held 11 a.m. today from the Holston View cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post 3/265.
Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons and members of the Men's Sunday School Class, Holston View United Methodist Church.
It is requested that those wishing to attend the services meet at the cemetery by 10:55 a.m. Tuesday.

BIG STONE GAP, Va. - Edward Wayne Ryan, 63, of the Wildcat Valley, passed away Sunday (Nov. 20, 2005) at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap.
He was born in Partridge, Ky., and lived most of his life in the Wildcat Valley of Big Stone Gap. He was a former Mining Electrical Engineer. He served in the U.S. Army and was of Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Henry and Virgie Lee (Flores) Ryan; two infant brothers and a brother, Kyle Ryan.
Surviving are his daughter, Angie Moore and husband, Jeff, of Big Stone Gap; son, Greg Simpson and his wife, Joy, of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Brandon Moore, Amanda and Elizabeth Simpson; three sisters, Barbara Bays of Kingsport, Beulah Vaughn of Big Stone Gap and Bernice Cucura and husband, Bill, of Reading, Pa.; three brothers, Kenneth Ryan and wife, Jill of Chesterfield, Va., Dan Ryan and wife, Mary and James Ryan and wife, Brenda, both of Big Stone Gap; and several nieces and nephews.

Garvie W. Wilkerson, 89, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Garvie W. Wilkerson, 89, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday (Nov. 21, 2005) at Indian Path Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Garvie was born in Dante, Va., the fifth child of W.M. and Bessie Woods Wilkerson. He was retired from J.P. Stevens in Kingsport after 34 years of service. He worked many years repairing cars and lawnmowers as a hobby. Garvie was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Stateline Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Chafin Wilkerson; brothers, Arthur Wilkerson, Carlis Wilkerson, Vernon Wilkerson, Cline Wilkerson and Edgar Wilkerson; and one sister, Gladys Robinson.
Surviving him are sisters, Trula W. Miller and husband, Albert of Kingsport; Dora Glovier of Castlewood, Va., Lucille Horne and Virginia Doyle of Pontiac, Mich.; two step-children, Vada Wilkerson of Clarkston, Mich., and Lincoln Chafin of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oak Hill Funeral Home or anytime at the home of his sister, Trula Miller.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Kelly officiating.

Pvt. Joshua Bush, 21, Appalachia, Va.
APPALACHIA, Va. - Pvt. Joshua Bush, 21, went to be with his Savior on Thursday (Nov. 17, 2005) at Lonesome Pine Hospital.
He was currently serving in the U.S. Army, at home on leave and temporary recruiting duty. He had completed basic training at Ft. Jackson, S.C., in August, 2005 and had graduated Wheel Vehicle Mechanic School at Ft. Jackson, S.C., in November, 2005. He was to be stationed at Fort Drum, N.Y., in December. He graduated from Appalachia High School in 2002.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elmer Bush; and an uncle, Jerry Bush.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Bush of Appalachia, Va.; his sister, Whitney Bush of the home; maternal grandmother, Ruth Bush of Big Stone Gap, Va.; aunts and uncles, Sandy Dysart and Bobby Dorton of Appalachia, Va.; Larry and Roseanne Bush of Big Stone Gap, Va.; special cousin, William Dysart of London, Ky.; several cousins and many friends.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Appalachia First Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Brewer officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. before services.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens cemetery by Norton V.F.W. post #4301.
Family and friends will meet at the church at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Nancy Slaughter Cannoy, 83, Hudson, Fla.
HUDSON, Fla. - Nancy Slaughter Cannoy, 83, went to be with the Lord on Saturday (Nov. 5, 2005) at Bear Creek Nursing Center in Hudson, Fla., after a period of declining health.
Nancy grew up in Bristol and Kingsport and attended Dobyns-Bennett High School. After marrying Frank A. Cannoy of Kingsport, they resided their early years of marriage in Colonial Heights in Kingsport. They attended Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church where they were very active in the church.
During the war, Nancy worked in the ammunition plant at Holston Ordinance. In 1960, the family moved to Clearwater, Fla. Nancy worked for many years at the Michel's Pharmacy in Clearwater. She spent the last 22 years living in Hudson.
She was a very loving mother and grandmother, she was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. She loved to read and study her Bible, to sew, to hook rugs and to read and pray.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Deaderick Slaughter and Guy Lee Slaughter; and an infant daughter, Malinda Lee Cannoy, all of Kingsport; and her husband, Frank A. Cannoy.
Surviving are one son, Donald A. Cannoy and wife Susan of Hudson, Fla., and their daughter, Christy Kwiecien and husband Steve of New Port Richey, Fla.; a daughter, Nancy Carolyn Jourden and husband Joe of Irving, Tex., and a daughter, Pamela C. Ward and husband Steven of Kingsport; their children, Carolyn M. Kestner of St. Peterburg and Michael D. Kestner of Palm Harbor, Fla.
A memorial service was conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at Prevatt Funeral Home, Hudson, Fla.
