Delmas "Woody" Marshall, Lexington Park, Md.
LEXINGTON PARK, Md. - Delmas Woodroe "Woody" Marshall, 56, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 15, 2005) at his residence.
He was born in Wise County, Va., on June 3, 1949 and was the son of the late Homer Woodrow Marshall and Nora Mae James Marshall.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Jean Marshall; brothers, Marvin Paul Marshall, Donald Lee Marshall, and Larry William Marshall.
Surviving are his wife, Karen L. Marshall, Lexington Park, Md.; children, Diana L. McAllister, North Carolina, Christopher D. Marshall, Lexington Park, Md., Marissa D. Clodfelter, Bryans Road, Md., Ray E. Clodfelter, Bryans Road, Md.; son-in-law, Donald McAllister, North Carolina; grandchildren, Chelsey, Cassie, and Catlin McAllister, North Carolina, Austin Clodfelter, Bryans Road, Md., Desirae Marshall, Lexington Park, Md.; sisters, Jeanine Simpson and Alice Frazier, Lexington Park, Md.; brother, Wayne Marshall, Waldorf, Md.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Calling hours are 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, Va.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steve Collins officiating.
Lee Smith Singers will provide the music.
Burial will follow in Marshall-James Family Cemetery, Crackers Neck Community, Nickelsville, Va.
The nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Services for Polly Gilliam McConnell, 98, of Lynn Garden, who went to be with the Lord on Thursday (Nov. 17, 2005) will be conducted in the Oak Hill Funeral Home Chapel at 8 p.m. today with Pastor David Salley and Rev. Herman Quillen officiating.
Entombment services will immediately follow the service in Oak Hill Mausoleum No. 1 in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. McConnell's great-grandsons.

NORTON, Va. - Colby F. McLemore, 70, died Thursday (Nov. 17, 2005) at Norton Community Hospital.
Born to the late James Monroe and Mary Fugate McLemore, Colby was a retired major in the U.S. Air Force and currently was a partner in Heritage Real Estate in Norton. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University.
Known as a leader with a strong work ethic, he was a person who gave of himself and loved his work, his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving companion, Sidney Whittaker of Norton; three sons, William Russell McLemore, Lexington, Ky., Robert Lee McLemore, Richmond, Va., and Colby F. KINGSPORT - Mark Evans Provence, 42, Kingsport, died Tuesday (Nov. 15, 2005) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center due to a sudden illness.
Born in Redlands, Calif., he resided in Moreno Valley, Calif., most of his life before moving to Kingsport in 2001. Mark was employed with Sprint PCS in Bristol, Va., and Advantage Sales and Marketing in Blountville. Mark was a talented musician, avid reader, teacher, astronomer, and enjoyed computers and history. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Mark was a member of First Baptist Church.
His parents, Thomas and Ingeborg Provence, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Leslie Provence of the home; three stepdaughters, Carolyn Cornish and husband Michael, Tigard, Ore., Selah Hurd and husband Nick, Kingsport, and Vanessa Bigness of the home; one son, Steven Provence of the home; two grandchildren, Jeren Cornish and Curtis Hurd; two sisters, Marty Howard, La Canada, Calif., and Janette Ulberg, Los Angeles, Calif.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon Tuesday at First Baptist Church or any time at the home.

Lawson Reams, 95, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Robert Lawson Reams, 95, died at 5:15 a.m. Friday (Nov. 18, 2005) at Brookhaven Manor.
Born in Durham, N.C., he came to Kingsport in 1916, and then spent seven years in Dante, Va., returning to Kingsport in 1924. He graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1927 and earned a business degree from Duke University in 1931.
Lawson joined Tennessee Eastman Company in September 1931 and worked there until he retired in 1975.
He married
Ferris Jane Wilbourn in 1933 and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary before she preceded him in death in 2004.
Lawson was an active member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church where he retired from the choir he loved at age 75. He was active in civic affairs and was a past governor of the Appalachian District of Civitan International.
Lawson had a gift for poetry. He has a poem "Leadership" in a tome of the best amateur poems of the millennium. He also has a poem "Twas the Night Before the Election" in the FDR Library.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Billy Williams, Bedford, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Judy Reams, Walnut Creek, Calif.; three granddaughters, Liz, Katie, and Leslie; and three great-grandsons, Hunter, Austin, and Ty.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Edwards and Rev. Jack P. Weikel officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.

RUSSELLVILLE - Myrtle Chapman Reaves, 101, passed away Friday (Nov. 18, 2005) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Morristown, following an extended illness.
She was a member of Shepard's Chapel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Reaves taught school in her early years then later worked in the office of Dr. H.R. Merrill.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, H.L. Chapman; second husband, Arville Reaves; parents, Charley and Lydia Sutton Mahan; two sisters, Edith Gillespie and Louise Hatfield; two brothers, Hugh Mahan and Henley Mahan; and step-daughter, Betty Ferguson.
Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Chapman Vaughn and husband, Lon of Russellville; two step-daughters, Audene Edwards of Telford, Tenn., and Rosa Lee of Baltimore, Md.; two step-sons, Eugene Reaves and Philip Reaves both of Greeneville; four nieces, Elizabeth Estep of New Tazewell, Tenn., Ann Wallins of North Carolina, Mary Bratton of Castlewood, Va., and Joan Lehrer of Morristown; and one nephew, Morris Gillespie of Auburn, Ala.

COEBURN, Va. - Alfred Glenn Stallard, 88, passed away Friday (Nov. 18, 2005) at the home of his son.
Mr. Stallard was a retired miner and member of the UMWA District 28.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Van Buren and Sara Catherine Stallard; five brothers, Voda Stallard, Hillis Stallard, Charlie Stallard, Gordon Stallard and Everett Stallard; four sisters, Delsie Hawkins, Della McCoy, Dealie Yates and Patsy Turner; his wife of 64 years, Edith Dotson Stallard; and a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Betty Stallard.
