Irma Cobb, 82, Duffield, Va.
DUFFIELD, Va. - Irma Cobb, 82, passed away Monday (Nov. 28, 2005) at Sunbridge Hillside Manor in Kingsport.
She was born in Wise County, Va., and had resided in Scott County. She retired from the Daniel Boone Trail Restaurant. She also was a member of Petersons Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli Jefferson and Mary Ann Pearcy Cobb; sisters, Gettie Lane and Frankie Upchurch.
Surviving are her daughter, Joan Templeton and husband Paul, Gate City, Va.; son, Douglas Cobb, Kingsport; grandson, Michael Paul Cobb, Knoxville; brothers, Cecil Ulice Cobb and wife Vivian, Duffield, Va., Carroll Cobb and wife Frances, Marion, Ind., Hagan Cobb and wife Lois, Duffield, Va.; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Funeral Home in Weber City, Va.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m Thursday with Rev. Frank Mullins officiating.
Music will be provided by Billy Lawson.
Graveside services will be Friday at 12 noon at Holston View Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:50 a.m.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mary Harmon Cress, 76, Pennington Gap, Va.
PENNINGTON GAP, Va. - Mary Harmon Cress, 76, joined her husband in Heaven Friday (Nov 25, 2005).
She was born on May 14, 1929. She was a devoted Christian and an inspiration to her family and friends. She was a member of Belcher's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Lee County.
After raising her children she attended nursing school, graduating in 1977, and retired from Lee County Community Hospital in 1992.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, William H. Cress; her father, Dana Livesay; brothers, Harold and Eugene Livesay.
Survivors are her mother, Kate E. Livesay of Jonesville, Va.; three sons, Dr. Larry Cress of Silver Spring, Md., Michael Cress and Sandy Edens of Fall Branch, and Gary Cress of Jonesville, Va.; two grandsons, Todd Cress of Kingsport and Shawn Cress of San Diego, Calif.; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Belle Cress of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Drexel Livesay and wife Alice of Wise, Va., and Billy Wayne Livesay and wife Meritta of Jonesville, Va.; one sister, Helen Livesay of Jonesville, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Belcher's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Left Poor Valley with Rev. Paul Davis Jr. and Rev. Stan Lewis Sr. officiating.
Mrs. Cress will be taken to the church one hour before services.
Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Gardens, Woodway, Va.

CLINCHPORT, Va. - Services for Georgia Lee (Kinkead) Edens, 81, an 18 month resident of the Erwin Healthcare Center, Erwin, Tenn., formerly of Rt. 2, who went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday afternoon (Nov. 27, 2005), will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Va., with Elder Allen Hensley officiating.
Music will be provided by Patsy Hensley and Cecil Cox.

Marsha Renfro Fletcher, 56, Mount Carmel.
MOUNT CARMEL - Marsha Renfro Fletcher, 56, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday (Nov. 28, 2005) at Indian Path Medical Center following a courageous 8 year battle with cancer.
Marsha was born in Kingsport and had lived in Mount Carmel for the past 26 years. She was a 1967 graduate of Lynn View High School. She worked at Kingsport Press before retiring from Indian Path Medical Center where she worked as a medical transporter. Marsha was a member of SOAR.
She worshiped with the members of Orebank Central Baptist Church, a place that she loved very dearly. Marsha was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Hatch Renfro.
Surviving are her husband, Wallace Fletcher, of the home; one son, James Music and wife Michelle of Mount Carmel; special granddaughter, Chelsea Martin, Mount Carmel; one grandchild on the way; father, Roy E. Renfro; four sisters, Linda Statzer and husband Norvel, Bristol, Va., Lori Cassell, Debbie Bledsoe and husband Wayne, and Karen Greene and husband Bob, all of Kingsport; one brother, David Renfro, Kingsport; also several nieces and nephews.

NORTON, Va. - Paul Frederick Gossett, 67, died Saturday (Nov. 26, 2005) at his home in Norton.
A retired lithographer with various media agencies, Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Bruce Gossett; his mother, Stella Absher Brown; his stepfather, Clyde Brown; and a brother, Jerry Gossett.
Surviving are his brothers, Darryl Gossett, Killeen, Tex., and Max Gossett, San Bernadino, Calif.; a sister, Joan Clay, Glendale, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

KINGSPORT - Elvera Compton Hargis, 69, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning (Nov. 29, 2005) at her residence.
She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Mrs. Hargis retired from Eastman Chemicl with 29 years of service. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #3382 and a volunteer at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Elvera was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Leon Salyer; her parents, Klonie Compton and Sallie Skeen Compton; sister, Madge Lane.
Surviving are her husband, Arvel Hargis, Kingsport; stepchildren, Deloris Gunthrie, Austin, Tex., Emma Snyder, Outer Banks, N.C., and Martha Ann Pzylbiskie, Baltimore, Md.; 10 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild; sister, Mildred Compton Hartsock, Kingsport; also several nieces and nephews.
