MOUNT CARMEL - Marsha A. Fletcher, 57, of Mount Carmel, passed away Monday evening (Nov. 28, 2005) at Indian Path Medical Center.

Arrangements and survivors are incomplete and will be announced later by Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Ruby Foster, 77, Gray.
GRAY - Ruby Watts Foster, 77, 423 Old Gray Station Road, passed away at home Saturday (Nov. 26, 2005) after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Erwin on Dec. 6, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Elsie Edwards and Frank Watts.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Watts of Morristown and Voyd Watts of Blountville; two sisters, Vivian Hammitt of Johnson City and Margie Lewis.

Surviving are her loving husband of 61 years, Floyd Foster; one son, Don Foster of Limestone; two daughters, Kathy Hamilton of Limestone and Charlotte Wheelock of Jonesborough; one brother, Jack Watts of Morristown; two sisters, Audie McAmis of Limestone and Mary Jane Depew of Gray; six granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Gray Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Richie Honeycutt and Pastor Brad Willis officiating. Betty Jenkins will be the organist.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Anyone who wishes to attend graveside services are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Mary Lou Hamm, 74, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Mary Lou Hamm, 74, formerly of Kingsport, passed away Sunday (Nov. 27, 2005) at Smyth County Hospital in Marion, Va.

She retired from Sears as an accountant. Miss Hamm was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Kingsport.

Surviving are her mother, Hester Stallard, Hickory, N.C.; two sisters, Ruth Smith and husband Garry, Marion, Va., and Jeanie Minor and husband Roy, Newton, N.C.; three nieces; one great-nephew; and also many friends.

Calling hours are from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday at the funeral home with Dr. Frank Crawford officiating.

Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church building fund, 1238 Pine Street, Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.

George E. Hart, 91, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - George E. Hart, 91, went to join his Heavenly Father Monday (Nov. 28, 2005) at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Born in Scott County, Va., he resided in Kingsport. He was a member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Hart was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force for four years.

He retired from Eastman Kodak in 1976 after 39 years of service.

His parents, Ida Belle and John Early Hart; son, Jacky Lynn; two sisters; and five brothers preceded him in death.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Cleo Bledsoe Hart; two daughters, Helen Qualls and husband Ken, and Sue Peters and husband Dan, all of Kingsport; son, Bill Hart and wife Betty, Mount Carmel; four grandchildren, Tina Qualls Peters, Scott Peters, Bryan Qualls, and Jason Hart; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Homer Roller and Rev. Aaron Pierce officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Post No. 3/265.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Qualls, Tim Peters, Scott Peters, Jason Hart, Rusty Wallace and Bobby Wallace.

Honorary pallbearers are Ken Qualls, Dan Peters, Claude Bledsoe, Jimmy Bledsoe and Brian Smith.

Paul Jarnagin, 70, Jonesville, Va.
JONESVILLE - Paul Jarnagin, 70, passed away Sunday (Nov. 27, 2005) at residence.

A lifelong resident of Lee County, Va., he was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Jonesville, Va., and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Laura Jarnagin; and four sisters, Mary Jarnagin, Viola Jarnagin, Ruby Nell Snodgrass, and Tommie Snodgrass.

Surviving are his wife, Norma "Cookie" Jarnagin of Jonesville; four daughters, Rita Christian and husband, Danny of Dryden, Va., Deborah Ely and husband, Roger of Jonesville, Patricia Jarnagin of Jonesville, and Paula Jones and husband, Tim of Jonesville; five grandchildren, Brad and Brandon Chasteen, Bryan Christian, Ashley Jones, and Madison Ely; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Chaz Chasteen; three brothers, Robert Jarnagin of Jonesville, Ronald Buster Jarnagin of Jonesville, and Woody Jarnagin of Jonesville; two sisters, Martha Newman of Kingsport and Betty Hopkins of Jonesville; a very special friend, James Yeary; and a host of others.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Jonesville, Va.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Carroll Wallen officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bethel cemetery in Jonesville, Va.

Elizabeth Lackey, 85, Rose Hill, Va.
ROSE HILL, Va. - Elizabeth Lackey, 85, passed away Friday evening ( Nov. 25, 2005) at her residence.

Born in Wise County, she had resided in Lee County for the past 26 years. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Lackey was preceded in death by her husband, William Lackey; son, James Lackey; parents, William and Betty Jane Vernon; and a brother, Elmer Vernon.

Surviving are a son, Gerald Lackey, West Alexandria, Ohio; daughters, Theda Jane Holcomb, Williamsburg, Va., Janet F. Paulett, Houston, Tex., Ernestine Pelfrey, Paula Joyce Lackey, both of Rose Hill, Va., Nancy Spell, Morrow, Ga., Eva E. Preedom, New Ipswich, N.H.; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Noah Vernon, Derby; sisters, Ella Ett Maley, Keokee, Julia Young, Kingsport, and Mae Gardner, Big Stone Gap; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Gilliam Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Duke Barker and Rev. Noah Lee Vernon officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Powell Valley cemetery in Dryden, Va. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matt Taylor, Tom Brown, Rev. Billy Pelfrey, Rev. Noah Lee Vernon, and her nephews.

Bonnie Quesenberry, 82, Limestone, Tenn.
Services for Bonnie Quesenberry, 82, a resident of John M. Reed Nursing Home in Limestone, who went to be with Jesus on Saturday (Nov. 26, 2005), will be at 1 p.m. today in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of Gate City Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Wright officiating and special speaker, Michael Ahern.

Music will be provided by Sara Raines.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service at the Laney Cemetery, High Knob community.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Workman, Charlie Raines, Jared Wright, Danny Laney, Mike Gilbert and Bennie Peak.

Linda Reeves, 54, Wise, Va.
WISE, Va. - Linda Carolyn Reeves, 54, passed away Monday (Nov. 28, 2005) at her home.

She was a member of the Trinity Life Center Church and chairwoman of the Missions Board Trinity Life Center. She was known for her generosity and giving her time. She was a graduate of Pound High School, a former employee of Appalachian Regional Hospital and Magic Mart.

She was preceded in death by her father, David B. McCarthy; and a brother, Joseph McCarthy.

Surviving are her husband, Richard Elmer Reeves; a son, Richard Elmer Reeves II; two daughters, Veronica Hylton and Valerie Reeves; her mother, Julia Mae McCarthy; two sisters, Debbie Hobbs and Rena Mullins; and a grandson, Steven D. Hylton.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise, Va.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Trinity Life Center Church with Pastor John McCarroll officiating.

Mrs. Reeves will be taken to the church one hour before service time on Wednesday.

Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery, Wise, Va.

Earl M. Ringley Jr., 57, Rogersville.
ROGERSVILLE - Earl M. Ringley Jr., 57, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord Sunday (Nov. 27, 2005) at Wellmont Hawkins County Memorial Hospital.

He was a member of Pilgrim's Rest Primitive Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl (Bill) Ringley Sr. and Quinnie (Short) Ringley; several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ringley of the home; son, Richard (Rick) Ringley of the home; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Robert Gibson of Rogersville; two nephews, Robert Brian Gibson and wife Susie of Greeneville, and David Gibson and wife Laura of Rogersville; two great-nieces, Rebecca and Abbye Gibson.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. today at Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville. The family will also receive friends anytime at the home.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Smith and Rev. Virgil Lipe officiating.

Interment will follow in the Henard-Ringley Family cemetery in the Poor Valley community.

George L. Shipley Sr., 72, Rogersville.
Military graveside honors for George L. Shipley Sr., 72, of Rogersville, who went to be with the Lord on Thursday (Nov. 24, 2005), will be conducted by Hawkins County Color Guard and the Tennessee Army National Guard at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery.

Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville, is in charge of arrangements.

Mackey J. Smith, 68, Rogersville.
ROGERSVILLE - Mackey J. Smith, 68, of 112 Livesay Circle, Rogersville, passed away Monday evening (Nov. 28, 2005) at his residence following an extended illness.

Survivors and arrangements will be announced later by Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville.

Willie Smith, 75, Gray.
GRAY - Willie Quillin Smith, 75, 114 Lester Heights Rd., passed away Sunday morning at Life Care Center of Gray after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Big Stone Gap, Va., and was a daughter of the late William Benton Quillin and Mary Hood Quillin. She grew up in Big Stone Gap and graduated from Big Stone Gap High School. Willie lived in Kingsport most of her adult life.

She was a member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, United Methodist Women, and served many roles in leadership, and was retired from Fine's Jewelers.

She was a wonderful, loving mother to her two adopted children, Amy and Mike Smith, who she raised from infancy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Lee Quillin and William B. Quillin; one sister, Mary Helen Quillin.

Surviving are one son, Michael Andrew Smith of North Carolina; one daughter, Amy Anne Smith of Gray; one brother, John R. Quillin of Big Stone Gap, Va.; three sisters, Virginia Shupe (James) of Big Stone Gap, Va., Ruth Blakemore of Kingsport, Jean Wofford (J.B.) of Conover, N.C.; one granddaughter, Allison Candace Fleenor of Gray; father of her children, Dan Smith of Gray; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gray Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Harry Hight and Rev. Aaron Pierce officiating with organist, Sarah Lee Boyd.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Glencoe Cemetery, Big Stone Gap, Va. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside services are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m.

Ann Snider, 74, Marion, Va.
MARION, Va. - Ann Talbert Snider, 74, died Saturday (Nov. 26, 2005) in Johnson City Medical Center.

Ann was a native of Abingdon before moving to Marion in 1957, following her marriage to K.B. Snider. When she wasn't playing her passionate hobby bridge, she was an active member of the community working with many organizations, among which were the First United Methodist Church, Smyth-Bland Regional Library, Junior Women's Club, Holston Hills Country Club, the Cotillion Club, the Smyth County Riverwalk and Grassroots Conservancy, William King Regional Arts Center, the Annabel Morris Buchanan Federated Music Club, the Hungry Mother Arts and Crafts Festival, Friends of Hungry Mother State Park, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Red Hat Society.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, C.M. and Louise "Meemaw" Talbert.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mia and John P. "Cal" Maiden of Smyrna, Ga.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Miles and Kim (Russell) Snider of Gray and Mark and Teri (Moore) Snider of Hanover County, Va.; two sisters and a brother-in-law Charlene Templeton of Abingdon, Va., and Brenda and John O. Nottingham of Kingsport; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Evelyn "Tootsie" Berry of Chilhowie, Va., and Madeline and D.C. "Bud" Crockett of Wytheville, Va., six grandchildren, Lindyn, Merrick, Bethany and Brandon Snider, and Miles and Matthew Pierce; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Church and Cherry Streets, Marion, Va., at 6 p.m. today with Rev. Jeff Lambert officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. two hours prior to the service.

A private burial service will follow in Rose Lawn cemetery on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, Mark, Miles and Mia respectfully request your consideration of a memorial contribution to either First United Methodist Church (115 S. Church St., Marion, Va. 24354), the Lincoln Theater Foundation (117 E. Main St., P.O. Box 664, Marion, Va. 24354-0664) or the William King Regional Arts Center (415 Academy Dr., P.O. Anna Hughes Swift, 88, Kingsport.
Graveside services for Anna Hughes Swift, 88, Kingsport, who passed away at her home on Saturday (Nov. 26, 2005), will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. today to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Wheeler, George Wine, Banner Childress, Walter Kirby, Glenn Lewis, and James Hughes.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to Summersville Baptist Church, 235 Mockingbird Lane, Kingsport, TN 37663.
