FT. SILL, Okla. - Larry Wayne Jessee, 24, formerly of Scott County, Va., died early Saturday morning (Dec. 3, 2005) as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Ft. Sill, Okla.

Alice C. Kelly, 97, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Alice Catherine Kelly, 97, died Thursday (Dec. 1, 2005) at Wexford House after a lengthy illness.
She was an angel who was sent to earth to bless the ground on which she walked and the lives of those she touched. One that served as an example, a goal or a reward for those souls on whose fortune she cast such a long shadow. A rare and beautiful flower in the Garden of Life, she now blooms for her Lord and Master.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., she was a longtime resident of Borden Village in Kingsport where she was a loving homemaker and neighbor. Since 1950, she was a faithful member of First Christian Church and her presence, dedication and service will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude W. Kelly Sr.; parents, John Elliott Tanner and Mattie O'Lena Hall Tanner; one brother, Cecil Tanner; and two sisters, Flora "Polly" Lowe and Grace Jarvis, all from Lynchburg, Va.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by her son, Claude W. Kelly Jr., and wife, Kathy M. Kelly, Kingsport; her daughter, Catherine Ann Dowell and husband, James E. Dowell, Blountville; one granddaughter, Kelly Nicole Moore and husband Christopher J. Moore; two great-grandsons, Tyler Garrett Moore and Jake Wyatt Moore; sisters-in-law, Virginia Lee Kelly and Christine Howze, Kingsport; two nephews and two nieces.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, with Doug Dade officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Dale A. Lovin, 56, Davenport, Fla.
DAVENPORT, Fla. - Dale A. Lovin, 56, went home to our Lord Jesus on Sunday (Nov. 27, 2005) after a short battle with cancer.
He was a well-respected international construction engineer and small business owner in Davenport, Fla. He leaves behind a loving family, many friends, and a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lovin; and an infant sister, Edna Mae Lovin.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary of Davenport, Fla.; one son, Jeffrey L. Lovin and his wife, Lisa of Kingsport; one daughter, Victoria Benca and her husband, Steven of Orlando, Fla.; three granddaughters, Jessica Renee Lovin, Melissa Allina Lovin, both of Kingsport, and Brianna Benca of Orlando, Fla.; one grandson, Kaleb Benca of Orlando, Fla.; his mother, Arlena F. Lovin; sister, Gail Barr; and brother, Donald E. Lovin and wife, Jean, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Gravelly Baptist Church in Kingsport on Tuesday (Dec. 6, 2005) from 7 to 9 p.m. with David Salley officiating.

Glen William Moorehouse, 94, Jonesborough.
JONESBOROUGH - Mr. Glen William Moorehouse, 94, of Jonesborough, died Saturday (Dec. 3, 2005) at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
Mr. Mooorehouse was the son of the late William Sydney and Carrie Edna Hinderliter Moorehouse. He was born on March 29, 1911 in Dodge City, Ford County, Kans.
He retired from the Tennessee Eastman Company in 1976 after 47 years of service. He was also a member of the Tennessee Professional Society of Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers. He also was a 32nd degree Mason of Lodge #688 F&AM in Kingsport. Mr. Moorehouse was a member of the Jonesborough Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moorehouse was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Ledana Fields Moorehouse; and four brothers, George Leonard Moorehouse, Roy Victor Moorehouse, Robert Earl Moorehouse, and Richard Craig Moorehouse.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Hampton Moorehouse of the home; two sons, Glen Evan Moorehouse, Big Canoe, Ga., and Crispen Sydney Moorehouse, Kingsport; one daughter, Gwenda Sue Moorehouse, Piney Flats; two stepsons, Adam John Epstein, Nashville, and David William Epstein, Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Margaret Ruth Bray, of Kingsport, and Elsie Louise Sutphin, Charlottesville, Va.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Jonesborough Presbyterian Church.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Rev. Beth Yarborough officiating.
Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill cemetery in Kingsport at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday following the funeral service.

DUFFIELD, Va. - Lillian Marie Scott, 93, passed away Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 29, 2005) at Indian Path Medical Center.
Born in Rye Cove, she had resided in both Wise and Scott Counties. She was a housewife.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Scott; parents, James McCready and Fannie Ramey McCready.
She is survived by two sons, George Scott of Pittsburgh, Pa., James Scott of Kelso, Wash.; four grandchildren; a brother, James McCready of Phoenix, Ariz.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Gilliam Funeral Home.

Blanche Thompson, 91, Dalton, Ga.
DALTON, Ga. - Blanche Brinkley Thompson, 91, of Dalton, Ga., formerly of Kingsport, passed away Friday (Dec. 2, 2005) at Hamilton Medical Center, Dalton, with family at her side.
Mrs. Thompson, born Feb. 26, 1914 in Glen Alpine, N.C., was the daughter of the late Samuel "Big Sam" and Lallie Simpson Brinkley and was also preceded in death by one sister; four brothers; and ex-husband, Fred E. (Sheriff) Thompson.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Lynnie and Lynn Tunnell of the residence; and daughter, B. Toby Atkinson, of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; also grandsons and daughters-in-law, Bobo and Miriam Majors of Tullahoma, Tenn., Mark and Heather Majors of Dalton, Andy and Kristin Tunnell of Birmingham, Ala., Ben and Brandy Tunnell of Tallahassee, Fla.; granddaughters, Christy Woods and Becky Atkinson of Fernandina Beach, Jenny Atkinson of Nashville; 12 great-grandchildren; several beloved nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Ann Griggs of Tunnel Hill, Ga.
Mrs. Thompson retired in 1976 from Kingsport Power Company after over 33 years of service, including work as the first female meter reader there during World ar II, later as a clerk in the Meter and Engineering Departments, and always loved her Kingsport Power Co. family. She was a great card player and member of the same bridge club in Kingsport for over 50 years.
Mrs. Thompson was one of the oldest members of First Broad Street United Methodist Church and affiliated with First United Methodist Church of Dalton after moving there in 1994.
Services will be held in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home on Monday at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park.

MOUNT CARMEL - Mamie Ruth Trent, 74, of Mount Carmel, went to be with her loving husband, Junior, together in the arms of the Lord on Friday (Dec. 2, 2005).
She was a member of the West View Baptist Church and she lived her life as a witness for the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Alfred Gott and Texie Anna Jones Gott; her husband, Junior Trent; a sister, Velma June Blankenbeckler; and a brother, Howard Sullins Gott.
Surviving are her two sons, Daniel Lee Trent and wife Sherry L., and Philip Darrell Trent and fiancee, Conthia Trent, all of Mount Carmel; a granddaughter, Amber L. Trent; a brother, Johnny A. Gott and wife Mary Ruth of Kingsport; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Carter Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill.

Born in Jonesville, Va., she moved to Kingsport in 1943 and lived most of her life there.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary Post #3382 and was a ham radio operator K4QWZ.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ina Courtney; first husband, Wallace Dickens; second husband, James C. Blizard; and her brother, Charles Courtney.
Surviving are her three daughters, Debra Dickens, Suzanne Teague and husband Robert, and Tammy Dickens, all of Kingsport; also her brother, Bruce Courtney, Kingsport; and four grandchildren, Caine Partin, Elliott Pulley, Slater Teague and Lauren Edge.
