KINGSPORT - Margaret Nunley Reese, 77, passed away Sunday evening (Jan. 22, 2006) at Indian Path Medical Center.
Margaret was born in Greene County to the late Rev. W.T. and Effie Salyer Nunley. She had lived most of her life in Kingsport and was a member of the Cedar View Independent Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.B. (Eck) Reese; her parents; one sister, Leona Nunley Parkerson; and three brothers, Howard, Bill and Onnie Nunley.
Margaret is survived by her children, Donnie and Dreama Reese Parsons of Kingsport, and W. David Reese and wife Lula of Mount Carmel; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert L. and Juanita Nunley of Columbus Ohio, Willis Patton and Midge Nunley and Samuel R. and Brenda Nunley, both of Kingsport; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Dean Byington and husband William and MaryAnn Harkleroad and husband Henry, all of Kingsport; two brothers-in-law, R.T. Parkerson and Jim Rutledge, both of Church Hill; along with several nieces and nephews.

DUFFIELD, Va. - Omega Jean Smith, 78, of Duffield, went home to be with the Lord, while surrounded by family and loved ones, on Sunday morning (Jan. 22, 2006) at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tenn.
She was born in Arno, Va., and as a child moved to Duffield with her parents, the late Everett and Edith Sproles Munsey, where she resided the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant twin brother, Carl; and her husband, Rev. Lester Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Priscilla; sons, Danny, Mark, and Phillip and wife, Rhonda; brother, Charles and wife, Sandy, all of Duffield; four grandchildren, Kevin and wife, Kelly of Clinchport, Cindy Minton and husband, Billy of Duffield, Nathaniel Smith and Timothy Smith, both of Duffield; three great-grandchilden, Lauren, Makenna, and Molly; sister- in- law, Mavis Smith; loving and caring niece, Loretta Bishop; loving and caring cousin, Linda Arwood; and Georgia Flannery, who was like a sister to her.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Duffield Funeral Home at Thomas Village and anytime at the residence.

JOHNSON CITY - Mary Eunice Cline Stockard, 92, a life-time resident of Johnson City, passed away Sunday afternoon (Jan. 22, 2006) at her residence, Lakeview Family Care in Morristown.
She was a native of Crossville, Tenn., and the daughter of the late Sherman and Sallie Deatherage Cline.
Ms. Stockard was an active member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Johnson City for over 60 years including past-president of the Women's Bible Class.
She was a retired registered nurse beginning at the Veterans Administration of Mountain Home, Tenn., followed with over 30 years as a public health nurse for the Washington County Health Department.
After post-graduate work at Nashville Peabody College, she concluded her career as director of the Washington County Crippled Children's Service with retirement in 1976.
Ms. Stockard was a past member of the American Business Women's Association and named "Woman of the Year" in 1982.
She was very active in the community in volunteer work such as the local chapter of the American Red Cross, the American Legion Auxiliary and served as a member of the board for Juvenile Judge Shirley Underwood.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Dr. Charles G. and Dorothy Stockard, Jr., Hacienda Heights, Calif., and Raymond C. and Judy Stockard, Sr., of Morristown; 10 grandchildren, Sharon and John Purifoy, Bristol, Va., Raymond C. and Shannon Stockard, Jr., Hiltons, Va., Chip and Pam Stockard, Hendersonville, Tenn., Jennifer Holder, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Beth and Mike Kerney, Atlanta, Ga., Brian Stockard, Mechanicsburg, Pa., Brad and Melissa Smith, Austin, Tex., Matt and Anita Smith, Yorba Linda, Calif., Delana and Pat Day, Sellersburg, Ind., and Dedra and Pat Shell, Limestone; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family thanks Ms. Gerrie Steele of Kingsport and Ms. Vickie Dearing of Morristown for the loving care given to Ms. Stockard the final 10 years of her life.

MOUNT CARMEL - R.C. Wagner, 85, passed away Monday (Jan. 23, 2006) at Indian Path Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Wagner was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of the Mead Corporation.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II, serving with the 51st Armored Infantry Battalion at the battle of Normandy and was awarded the purple heart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie Christian Wagner; his parents, Cloud and Rachel Powell Wagner; brothers, Virgil Wagner, Johnny Wagner and Raymond Wagner; sisters, Ruby Davidson and Roxie Davis Woods.
He is survived by his loving brother and caregiver, Charles E. Wagner, Mount Carmel; special niece and nephew, Patricia Lumpkins and David Wagner; sisters-in-law, Helen Collins, Charlotte Smith, Marie Dykes, Bill Way, Janie Hickman, Houch Way, Edna Wagner and Sharon Hunley; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Fred Way; her parents, Dewey and Dovie Caldwell Manis; sister, Nina Dowdy; and brother, Carson Manis.
