Florence Anita Randolph
Florence Anita Randolph, 65, of Sparta passed away Thursday, June 8, 2000 in Centennial Medical Center.
Randolph was born November 17, 1934, in Kodak, TN, the daughter of Jess and Hettie Ann Hodge Douglas. She was a Homemaker.
Services were Saturday, June 10, 2000 in Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Rose Lawn Cemetery. Wayne Hall officiated.
Randolph was preceded in death by husband, Clyde Randolph.
Survivors include four daughters, Debbie McGriff of Murfreesboro; Elaine Gibson of Centertown, Tammy Russell of Quebeck; Jenny Randolph of Sparta; son, Rick Randolph of Murfreesboro; eight sisters, Nell Buckner of Knoxville; Carolyn Williams of Knoxville; Odie Peulicy of Kodak; Ruth Dockery of Knoxville; Ann Depew of Kodak; Wilma Hall of Kodak; Katie Marine of VA; Katherine Andes of Knoxville; 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Freda Moore Delong
Freda Moore Delong, 78, of OH and former resident of Van Buren County passed away Monday, June 12, 2000 in Madison Health Care.
Delong was born February 22, 1922, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Fred C. Moore, Sr. and Gertrude Bishop. She was a homemaker and a Jehovah’s Witness.
Services will be held Saturday, June 17, 2000, in High’s Chapel with burial in Long Cemetery. Jerry Bell will be officiating.
Delong was preceded in death by husband, James Delong; and daughter, Joanne Woods.
Survivors include four sons, Harold Dawson Delong of Spencer; Grady Delong of OH; Karl Delong of OH; Kelly Delong of OH; four daughters, margaret Ellis of OH; Janie Baxter of OH; Rachel Gregory of OH; Janet Delong of OH; two brothers, Fred C. “Rowdy” Moore of Rock Island; Samuel Moore of Maryville; five sisters, Mary Pack of Spencer; Dorothy Palmer of Rock Island; Margie Delong of Rock Island; Grace Lawson of Rock Island; Barbara Childress of TX; 28 granchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
High Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Novella Prater Hodges
Novella Prater Hodges, 42, of McMinnville passed away Thursday, June 14, 2000 in Erlanger Medical Center.
Hodges was born June 22, 1957, in Cannon County, the daughter of Robert Wright Prater and Cora Lee Underwood Prater. She was a former employee of Oster and attended the Church of Jesus Christ.
Services will be Friday, June 16, 2000 in Love-Cantrell and Cope Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Blues Hill. Walter Peach will be the officiating.
Hodges was preceded in death by sister, Carlyon Brown.
Survivors include husband, Robert Hodges of McMinnville; three daughters, Loretta Hodges of McMinnville; Crystal Hodges of McMinnville; Angela Hodges of McMinnville; one son, Robert Hodges, Jr. of McMinnville; three brothers, Michael Prater of Woodbury; Danny Prater of Smithville; David Prater of Lebannon; four sisters, Wilma Sanders of Woodbury; Lydia Murphy of Smithville; Doreen Murphy of Lebanon; Shelia; and several nieces and nephews.
Love-Cantrell and Cope Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Alice Irene Strickland Meadows
Alice Irene Strickland Meadows, 80, of Sparta passed away Saturday, February 24, 2001.
Meadows was born September 1, 1920, in West Virginia, the daughter of Georgia and Addie Williams Strickland. She was a homemaker.
Services were Tuesday, February 27, 2001, in Hunter Funeral Home with burial in New Bon Air Cemetery. Glen Hargroves and Kenneth Peters officiated.
Meadows was preceded in death by her husband, Normal Lee Meadows.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann Phillips of Sparta; Helen Hastings of Spencer; Judy Bumbalough of Sparta; three sons, George W. (Bud) Meadows of Sparta; Tim Meadows of Sparta; Tom Meadows of Sparta; a sister Jean Pack of TX; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Dave Eugene Carrick
Dave Eugene Carrick, 75, of Sparta passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2001.
Carrick was born July 28, 1925, in White County, the son of Dave and Josephine Gist Carrick. He was a mechanic and attended Kynett Methodist. He served in the Army during World War II.
Services were Saturday, March 3, 2001, in East Sparta Church of God with burial in Davis Cemetery. Sister Shirley Rayford and Brother Ken Edmondson officiated.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Jean Worthington Carrick of Sparta; a son David Carrick of Cookeville; three daughters, Wilma Gwynn of CA; Linda Irby of Cookeville; Laura Roberts of Sparta; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Thurman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Michael Wayne Turner
Michael Wayne Turner, 52, of Murfreesboro passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2001.
Turner was born April 11, 1948, in Warren County, the son of Everett Lee Turner and Wavie Citt Turner. Turner served in the Navy and was a disabled veteran. He attended the Baptist Church and was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 513.
Graveside services were Saturday, March 3, 2001, in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Jim Wright officiated.
Survivors include his father and mother, Everett and Wavie Turner of McMinnville; two sisters, Wanda Silver of OH; Patricia Goodman of Smithville; two brothers, Ricky Turner of McMinnville; Kerry Turner of McMinnville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Dempse Cordell Saylors
Dempse Cordell Saylors, 91, of Sparta passed away Friday, March 2, 2001.
Saylors was born August 24, 1909, in White County, the son of Monrow and Hattie Hash Saylors. He was a teacher, mail carrier and farmer. He attended the Black Oak Church of God.
Services were Sunday, March 4, 2001, in Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Saylors Cemetery. Glea Shelley and Howard Thomason officiated.
Saylors was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Gertrude Saylors and Clara Hefner Elam.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Howard Saylors of Sparta; a son, Eugene H. Saylors and wife Rhonda of TX; three daughters, Linda Wilson and husband Gary of Chattanooga; Dinah Saylors of NY; Julia Ruby of IL; two brothers, Dillard Saylors of AL; Grady Saylors of Nashville; eight grandchildren, Gregg Wilson, Stephanie Wilson, Aaron Ruby, John Ruby, Brad Saylors, Melissa Saylors, Renee Saylors, Tracy Humphrey, John Humphrey, and a great-grandchild, Reagan Humphrey.
