KINGSPORT - Mollie Jean (Helton) Burton, 65, of Rogersville, went to be with her Lord on Sunday (April 9, 2006).
She received Jesus as her savior at a young age at Stone Mountain, where she was a member. She attended Cave Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Gale Burton; parents, Leonard and Hazel Helton; brothers, Ersie, Mickey and Leonard Jr. Helton.
She is survived by her daughter, Missy Johnson and husband Rev. Tim Johnson; loving granddaughters, Hope and Alyson Johnson, all of the home; soon to be grandson-in-law, Joshua Brooks; brother, Ben Helton and wife Brenda; sisters, Carolyn White and husband Bill, Geraldine Reed, all of Rogersville; brother-in-law, Luther Burton of North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Monnie Jones, Elizabeth Helton, Cecile Holt, Helen Didinato, Jean Barner, Mildred Williams, Nellie Helton, and Evelyn Stout.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Davis and Rev. Jim Trent officiating.
Interment will follow in McKinney Cemetery.

Charlie "C.B." Campbell, 89, Blountville.
BLOUNTVILLE - Charlie B. "C.B." Campbell, 89, went home to be with the Lord at 1:48 pm Sunday (April 9, 2006) at Greystone Health Care Center.
Born on Sept. 8, 1916 he has resided in this area for the last 65 years. Mr. Campbell was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Margaret Davis Campbell in 1992; a grandson, Michael Cam Jones; and several sisters.
Survivors include his children: Gene Williams and wife, Trudy of Blountville, Priscilla Evans and husband, Kenry of Bluff City, Brenda Bradshaw and husband, Toby of Kingsport, and Ellen Mink and husband, Johnny of Blountville; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Carter of Kingsport; two brothers, Joe Campbell and wife, Violet and Carl Campbell, all of Blountville; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at East Lawn Funeral Home and at other hours at the residence of a daughter, Brenda Bradshaw, 5337 Kiowa St., Kingsport, or the son, Gene Williams, 413 Muddy Creek Road, Blountville.

Dorothy E. Christian, 79, Hanover, Pa.
HANOVER, Pa. - Dorothy E. Christian, 79, of Hanover, Pa., went home to be with the Lord Saturday night (April 8, 2006) at the Gettysburg Hospital in Pennsylvania following a brief illness.
She was born in Rogersville but had lived the majority of her life in Hanover, Pa. Dorothy was a very spiritual person who was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She retired from Creamer Florist of Hanover, Pa., as a greenhouse supervisor with 27 years of service.
Mrs. Christian was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Christian in 1965; her parents, Owen and Laura (Brown) Mallory; her sisters, Opal Spitzer, Inez Phillips and Gladis Mallory; her brothers, Clifford, Britton, William "Dub, " and Maxwell Mallory.
She is survived by her daughters, Georgia Lowe and Elizabeth Julius, both of Abbottstown, Pa.; sons, Ronald Christian and Paul Christian, both of Hanover, Pa., and Kenneth Christian and Richard Christian, both of Abbottstown, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Grissom of Kingsport; along with several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Phillips officiating.

Frances Kathleen Collier, 83, Pennington Gap, Va.
PENNINGTON GAP, Va. - Frances Kathleen Collier, 83, was born in Virginia on Thursday Aug. 17, 1922 and passed away on Sunday (April 9, 2006) at Wellmont Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Va.
She had lived in Lee County, Va., her entire life. Kathleen was a homemaker and cared for her parents and brother, Ralph (Chubby) Collier. She was a Christian woman and very strong in her faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.O. and Ebbie Hurd Collier; sister, Ella Marie Whisenant; and brothers, Howard, Hubert and Ralph (Chubby) Collier.
Kathleen is survived by her nieces, Susan C. Davis and husband, Joseph W. Davis, Waynesboro, Va., and Mary Jane Collier-Long and husband, Joseph D. Long, Greensboro, N.C.; nephew, Robert L. Collier and wife, Josie L. Collier, Virginia Beach, Va.; great-niece, Megan L. Collier, Blacksburg, Va.; great-nephew, Eric C. Davis, Lynchburg, Va., aunt, Etta Rhoten, Kingsport.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, Va.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Va., with Rev. Don Jones officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. for the service.

JOHNSON CITY - John W. Cretsinger, Sr., 59, 112 Miller Hill Road, died Sunday(April 9, 2006) at his residence.
Mr. Cretsinger was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and a son of the late Raymond E. and Rosland Baker Cretsinger.
Mr. Cretsinger was an auto mechanic and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Phyllis Cretsinger; one son, J.W. Cretsinger; one sister, Janie Carver.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda "Spanky" and Marc McAmis of Johnson City, Loretta "Lorrie" and Robert "Bob" Bowers of Johnson City; one son, John W. KINSGPORT - John L. Dalton, 57, went to be with the Lord on Monday (April 10, 2006) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Hamblen County and had lived in Kingsport for the past 10 years.
He served as a city police officer for several years in White Pine. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert "Bob" Dalton; his parents, Claude and Virgie Newman Dalton; a sister, Helen McDonald; and four brothers, Claude "Buster, " Ed, Earl and James Dalton.
Surviving are Sherry, of the home; his two daughters, Misty Castle and Nikki Wolfe, both of White Pine; three sons, Johnny Lee Dalton of White Pine, Mike Maxwell of Bristol, Va., and Steven Maxwell of Kingsport; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Charlsie Brown of White Pine, Betty Brown and Mary Frances Brown of Morristown; five brothers, Bill Brown and wife Lisa of Russellville, Clarence Dalton and wife Linda, Clifford Dalton and wife Jeanie, James Dalton and wife Max, and Fredie and wife Helen, all of Morristown; along with several nieces and nephews.

DRYDEN, Va. - Brenda Sue Dearry, 47, passed away Sunday (April 9, 2006) at Wellmont-Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Va.

James Maurice Fraley, 88, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - James Maurice Fraley, 88, formerly of East Stone Gap, Va., passed away Sunday (April 9, 2006) at his home.
He was born in Linden, Va. He was a 1936 graduate of East Stone Gap High School, where he played football and was on the 1935 championship basketball team. He owned and operated businesses in several different states. He was a pioneer in the RV and mobile home park business and was a member of the RV and Mobile Home Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Ind. He and his wife were known as "The Travelin' Fraleys." He was a member of the Cedar View Methodist Church in Kingsport, where he contributed two scholarships annually.
Mr. Fraley enjoyed giving back to his community. He was instrumental in creating the Shoe & Coat Drive for area children, provided a truck load of food each year for the Big Stone Gap Food Bank, and helped to promote and financially assist the Lonesome Pine School and Heritage Center in Big Stone Gap, Va. He authored three pictorial books of local interest.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Elizabeth (Wilson) Fraley; his parents, Luther "Hop" and Naomi (Giles) Fraley; a brother, A.K. Fraley, an infant brother; and two sisters, Agnes Harlan and Nadine Wheatley.
Surviving are his son, Dennis Fraley and wife, Becky, Bryan, Tex.; daughter, Phyllis Hamilton and husband, John, Big Stone Gap, Va.; four grandsons, Layne Hamilton and wife Karen, Virginia Beach, Va., Kevin Hamilton and wife, Dorothy, and their children, Dustin, Adam and Travis, all of LeMoore, Calif., Kris Fraley and wife, Jeannie, and their children, Elizabeth and Emily, all of Bryan, Tex., and Scott Fraley and fiancée, Brooke Baca, of Bryan, Tex.; two granddaughters, K-Lyn and husband, Kelly Marlow, and their children, John, Josh and Jesi, all of Ft. Polk, La., and Melissa and husband, Derrick Williams, and their child, Clint, all of Bryan, Tex.; one sister, Bernice and husband, Kelly Bunch, of Kings Mountain, N.C.; several nieces and nephews, one step-granddaughter, Jill Jankowski and her children, Briana, Cierra and Aarin, all of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a special friend, Mary Lou Townsend of Kingsport.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Otto Giles and the Rev. Jim Fields officiating.

Burial will follow in Glencoe cemetery in Big Stone Gap.

FALL BRANCH - Mildred Lane Parker Garst, 75, went to be with the Lord on Saturday (April 8, 2006) after an extended illness.
Born in Scott County, Va., she had lived in the Kingsport area for most of her life. She was retired from Burlington Coat Factory after several years of service, where she worked in sales.
She was previously a member of Community United Methodist Church for a number of years, before moving to Fall Branch where she became a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Parker; and her parents, Curtis and Monnie Herron Lane.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby D. Garst, of the home; two daughters, Jeannie Williams and husband Alan of Kingsport, and Jo Ann Barrett and husband Pat of Fall Branch; five grandchildren, Wesley Williams, Eric Williams, Sarah Barker, Matt Barker and Stacey Barrett; brothers, Charles Lane of Texas, and L.D. Lane of Blountville; and several nieces and nephews.

PENNINGTON GAP, Va. - Carter Gibson, 82, was born in Lee County, Va., on Wednesday, June 6, 1923, and passed away at his residence on Sunday (April 9, 2006).
He had lived in Lee County most of his life. He retired from the coal mines and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle May Gibson; father, Lafayette Gibson; two brothers, Silas and Millard Gibson; five sisters, May Vaughan, Mavice Bowens, Macie Parsons, Mable Barnette and Mary Coomer.
Carter is survived by his wife, Nadine Gibson, of the home; two sons, Dan Gibson and wife, Linda of Jonesville, Va., Don Gibson and wife, Teresa of Sorrento, La.; one daughter, Margaret Lambert and husband, Michael of Falls Mill, Va.; three grandsons, Jason Gibson and wife, Tanya of Crossville, Tenn., Nathan Gibson of Gray and Jordan Gibson of Jonesville, Va.; four granddaughters, La Donya Griffin and husband, Justin of Morristown, Vanessa Gibson of Jonesville, Va., Talitha Gibson and Tesia Gibson, both of Louisiana; two great-grandsons, Bryson Griffin and Bradon Carter Griffin, both of Bean Station.

Garnie Gillenwater, 75, Ft. Blackmore, Va.
FT. BLACKMORE, Va. - Garnie Solon Gillenwater, 75, entered into rest Saturday (April 8, 2006) at his residence.
Mr. Gillenwater was a son of the late Ezra Scott Gillenwater and Lela Quillen Gillenwater.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil M. Gillenwater, Eugene S. Gillenwater; infant brother, Ova Lee Gillenwater; one sister, Geneva Cousins.
Mr. Gillenwater was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the United States Army.
He worked in Law Enforcement for the Scott County Sheriffs Department, Gate City Police Department and Weber City Police Department. Mr. Gillenwater served as chief of Police of Gate City for four years, retiring after 16 years of service.
He was the Terminal Manager for Time/DC Freight.
Surviving are his daughters. Lela Ann Gillenwater, of the home, and Carolyn Ann (Glen) Graham of Gate City, Va.; one sister, Gertrude Dockery, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; grandchildren, Michael McDivitt and Kayla Gillenwater Dockery; four great–grandchildren, Jon McDivitt, Scarlet McDivitt, Gabriel McDivitt and Tristan Berry; several nieces and nephews; a special nephew and wife, Steve and Lisa Gillenwater, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; special friend and brother, James Fink.
