Member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he was active as a Sunday School teacher and choir member. He narrated tapes for the blind for the Local Office on Aging, and "55Plus" as well as Christian Mission for the Blind. He performed in local dramas and was in many short plays at John T. O'Conner Center, as well as singing with the Shannondale Choral Group. He was past president of Knoxville Philatelic Society 1993-94.He was active in Boy Scouts and a member of Order of the Arrow. He was a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia. Preceded in death by wife Alberta McWilliams Baldwin, first wife Mildred A. Rose through the steps of military service to attain the rank of CWO III. Retired after 21 years. Had a second career with Special Instruments Laboratory beginning as Quality Control and finishing as Executive Vice President of the multi-national firm. He served on the Board of Directors and, after retirement, continued as a consultant. Dutifully cared for his loving wife Evelyn Shirley for 63 years. Was a guiding light for his 3 children, William J. Everett, Jr. of Aransas Pass, TX, Lynda Gayle Kirkland and Robert William Everett, of Knoxville.
