He was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church and South Knoxville Lodge #769 F. & A.M. Retired from U.S. Post Office with 41 years service. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a pilot in the Army Air Corps. Survived by daughter Brenda Flowers Ooten and husband Robert of Marietta, Georgia; son Tommy Flowers of Knoxville; grandchildren Christopher Kevin Ooten, Amy Elissa Ooten, Casey Hamilton Flowers, Courtney Witt Flowers; sisters Mrs. Rosa Belle Davis of Greenville, Illinois; Mrs. Lula Mae Crosby of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Mrs. Ruth Hayes of Maryville, California. Graveside service Monday 12:00 Noon at Woodlawn Cemetery, Rev. Tom King officiating. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

Tarwater, Seymour Funeral 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 19, 1999, Berry Chapel, Chapman Hwy. Rev. Thomas A. Robins officiating. Family will receive friends Wednesday following the service in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home until 8:30 PM. A delayed graveside memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at Woodlawn Cemetery due to family members being abroad.

Former employee of Lockheed-Martin of Marietta, GA. Her most Special Possessions; Sons: Michael Martin; Joseph Ruff Jody will be eternally loved by all. Jody was the most loving, caring and giving mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend anyone could ever know. Jody's family and friends were the most important things in her life. She will be sadly missed by everyone. Funeral service 11:00 AM Thursday, Berry Chapel. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery.
