LARGE, MYRTLE WISE - passed away Saturday, February 13, 1999, at Shannondale Health Care Center. She was born May 6, 1919, in Del Rio, Tenn. She was a born-again Christian. Preceded in death by: her husbands, Clifton Wise and Clyde Large; her parents, Jesse A. and Katherine M. Pack; a daughter, Joyce Constance Wise; and a brother, Jesse Olin Pack. She is survived by: her sons, Brady M. Wise, San Antonio, Texas, and Clyde H. "Bill" Large, Jr., Harriman, Tenn.; daughters, Rose Yvonne Ward, Knoxville, and Sharon Janet Large, Lenoir City; sisters, Mabel Keffer, Hazel Shoemaker and Glenna Rowena Davis; brothers, Chester, Wayne and Woodrow Pack, all of Knoxville. Family and friends will meet in New Gray Cemetery at 2 p.m., Tuesday for graveside services. Rev. David Lay will officiate. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Drive.

Retired from Rhom & Haas with 37 years of service. Member of Linden Avenue Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband and father. wife of 49 years: Jeanette Helms; son and daughter-in-law: Rick and Alisa Helms; son: Bob Helms; sons and daughters-in-law: Ken and Debbie Helms, Scott and Robin Helms; grandchildren: David, Marybeth, Josh, Ryan, and Colby Helms; 1 great grandchild: Macy Nicole Shehan. Preceded in death by parents, Nora Jane and Calvin Widby; husband, Floyd E. Kidd; son, Harley, Jr. Survivors: special grandson, Jesse L. Berry, Jr.; son, Jesse L. Berry, Sr.; granddaughters, Thalia Swensen, Jeannie Goodro of Boise, Idaho, Teanna Faw of Knoxville, Shannon and Talanna Ann Faw, Joshua Berry, Allison Goodro, Emily Parrot, Callie Abram and Benjamin Swensen; brothers and sisters- in-law, Albert and Mildred Widby of Knoxville, George and Louise Widby of Knoxville, Jack and Elvira Widby of Michigan; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Special thanks to family of Clarence and Flora Widby for all their love and support. Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, Rev. Dewey Cooper and Rev. Wayne Cooper officiating. Interment will be at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers. John William H. Coile, Jr.

Coile, John William H., Jr., age 52 of Oak Ridge passed away at Park West Hospital Saturday, January 30, 1999 following a lengthy illness. He was a retired Baptist Minister and was preceded in death parents, John and Virginia Coile, Sr. and a sister, Nancy Coile. Survived by wife, Judy Morris Coile; Daughters, Hope Wells and husband, Jimmie Wells; Jann Coile and Christie Coile all of Oak Ridge; four grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Carroll Webb, Knoxville and Bonnie and Clint Hancock, Memphis. Funeral services 8:00 PM Monday at First Baptist Church Concord. Dr. Doug Sager and Dr. Steve Hodges will officiate. Interment will be Tuesday, 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ed Morris, Gary Morris, Wayne Baker, Clyde Baker, Dean Baker and Travis Baker. William R. (Bill) Kirkpatrick

Kirkpatrick, William R. (Bill), age 87 of Knoxville passed away Saturday January 30, 1999 at Baptist Hospital following a brief illness. He was retired from the Knoxville News Sentinel, member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church, served in the US Marine Corps as a combat platoon sergeant during WWII and as a drill instructor at Parris Island during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by his wife, Tommye Mae Parker Kirkpatrick; parents, William Leroy and Rose Stella Kirkpatrick; brother, Milton; sisters Irene Davis, Madge Mize and Helen Caldwell; brother-in-law, Jimmy Parker. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Rose Kirkpatrick Cook and husband, Jim; son, William "Will" Parker Kirkpatrick and wife, Amy; brother-in-law, Carroll A. Parker; 2 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services Tuesday, 2:00 PM at Berry Chapel with Rev. David Lovelace officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Military honors will be by the Volunteer State Honor Guard. Memorials may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Association for Macular Disease Inc., 210 East 64th Street, New York, NY 10021 or the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45205. Preceded in death by parents, Corbett T. and Helen Ann Miles Long. wife, Phyllis J. Long; daughters and sons-in-law, Bridget and Nelson Gainey, Claxton, Jonie and Phillip Vandagriff, Clinton; Grandson, Nicholas Allen, Claxton; granddaughters, Tayler Gainey, Claxton and Jessica Vandagriff, Clinton; brothers, Murel Long, and Billy Floyd Long both of Knoxville; sister, Joann Leavitt, Lakeland, FL; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, February 2, l999 at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 3, 1999 in Berry Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Eulogy will be given by his brother Murel Long and Chaplain John Shaw. He will be missed and loved by all his loved ones forever. Rest in peace our love.
