Wilson, H. Lewis, age 66, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 20, 1999 in Long Beach, NC. He was an ordained Baptist minister. Born in Woodruff, SC. Veteran of the US Navy, serving 4 years during the Korean Conflict. Graduated from Furman University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He served churches in Lawrenceville, IL, Huntington, WV and South Knoxville Baptist Church. He then worked for the US Chamber of Commerce and retired from National Write Your Congressman in 1997. He was an active member of Kiwanis, Civitan, Sertoma, and 1st Baptist Church, Knoxville. He leaves behind Ema Janet, his wife of 38 years; daughter, Cynthia J. Wilson of Chicago; son and daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Stephen Lewis, Mary McCallon, and Caroline Grace Wilson of Kingsport, TN; three sisters: Thelma Ferguson, Simpsonville, SC, Miriam Roark, Union, SC, Gladys Ruh, Lake City, FL and two brothers, Ken Wilson, Hixson, TN and Herman Wilson, Union SC. Funeral 2:30 PM Saturday, Berry Chapel with Dr. David Hull and Rev. Bill Hudnut officiating. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Rule, Albert Calvin - age 66, of Knoxville, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital Tuesday, January 19, 1999. During his Army service he was chaplain's assistant at Fort Knox, Ky. He was an active member of Bible Presbyterian Church where he was organist and choir director. He was a music teacher in the Knox City School System with 25 years of service. Choir director for the Home School Cooperative Choir for many years. Also music director for several area churches, including Trinity United Methodist, Fountain City United Methodist, Kirkwood Presbyterian, as well as Bible Presbyterian. He had many piano and voice students. Preceded in death by parents, Oscar W. and May Elizabeth Fersch Rule; an infant brother, John Rule. Sisters and brothers-in-law: Maybelle and Robert D. Argie, Knoxville; Rose and William T. Charnock, Hendersonville, N.C.; Jean and James E. Saunders, Knoxville Graveside service 2 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 1999, at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Preceded in death by parents, Blan and Cora Bruce Finley. She was married and widowed three times and was the mother of two daughters, one of whom, Joy Hayes Tilton, is deceased.
