He was a minister in the Church of God of Prophecy having served as pastor in churches of East and Middle Tennessee. He was also a veteran of the US Army and Air Force. He was preceded in death by first wife, Evelyn; daughters, Diane & Mary Jo; parents, Mack & Adline Free; two brothers and a sister.
