Preceded in death by husband, Leland Rose and Joseph Reed. Daughters: Helen Riehl - Muskegan, MI; Wanda Hickle - Knoxville Funeral service 7:00 PM Tuesday at Berry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pauline (Polly) Summitt Tallent

Tallent, Pauline (Polly) Summitt, age 91, born Jan. 10, 1909, passed away quietly August 18, 2000 at St. Mary's Hospital. An active member for more than 70 years of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Knoxville. Preceded in death by husband, Charles Lemuel Tallent; father & mother, William Lafayette & Lula Mae Moser Summitt; and step-mother, Maggie Sheets Summitt. She was dearly loved and will be missed by many. Son: Charles W. Tallent Graveside service 11:00 AM Monday at Lynnhurst Cemetery with Rev. David Lancaster and Dr. J. David Hester officiating. Evelyn Jean Fain

Evelyn was a native of Knoxville, grew up in the West View Community, graduated from Rule High School and was employed for almost 50 years by Chapman Drug Company, later Cardinal Health. She was a member of Smoky View Baptist Church and a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Acacia Chapter 362. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe H. and Margaret Courtney Fain. Aunt: Emma (Mrs. Glenn L.) Courtney Graveside service 10:00 AM Monday, Highland Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Terry Tuley officiating. Rowena Nichols Witt

Witt, Rowena Nichols, age 68, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went home to her Heavenly Father Aug. 13, 2000. Preceded in death by parents Joe and Dossie Nichols; brothers Marvin and Jim Nichols. After graduating Carter High School where she lettered in basketball, Rowena completed Nursing School earning a Registered Nurse Degree from General Hospital. She later worked for Doctors Swann, Peagler, and Toyohara for most of her nursing career. Rowena made friends very easily, she was also a caring and giving person. Aside from her grandchildren, Rowena enjoyed raising beef cattle on her farm. The Witt family would like to acknowledge a few of Rowena's closest and special friends: cousins Dixie Mays Cruze and Bill Branch, friends Betty Jo Fishburn Phelps, Mary Cox, Dinardo Alta, Thomas Rule. Faye Lawson, Betty Hughes, Mary Eich, Lois Walker, Ruth Grubbs, and Charles Carter. We want to also thank and recognize Dr. Victor Salter and Dr. James Gleaves, Dr. Carlos Velado, and Dr. Clint Doiron for their genuine caring and professionalism while treating Rowena. Mother we say goodbye for now but God has promised us in John 11: 25-27 that we will see you again someday. "I am The resurrection and the Life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die." Honorary Pallbearers: Will Bradley, Kenney Branch, Edward Merriman, Riley Kennedy, Alan Kennedy, Dewayne Kennedy, Ronnie Mohn, Joey Nichols, and Russell Nichols.
