Liston, Jason Eric, age 29, of Halls, passed away Monday, July 31, 2000 after an extended illness. Member of Faithway Baptist Church. Wife: Wendy The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Faithway Baptist Church, 4402 Crippen Rd. in Halls with a memorial service at 8:00 P.M. with Kenny Wolfenbarger and Pastor Rick Passmore officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 A.M. at Lynnhurst Cemetery with Pastor Rick Passmore officiating. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Wolfenbarger, Jimmy Wolfenbarger, Kenny Wolfenbarger, Tony Wolfenbarger, John Lewis, and Brian Lewis. The family wishes to thank the special angels at St. Mary's Hospice in Halls for their special care of Jason in his last days. A benefit singing and celebration of Jason's life will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at Faithway Baptist Church. Berry, Tyler Allan, infant son of Roger and Mary Berry, went to be with Jesus at birth, July 31, 2000 at St. Mary's. He joins his sister, Chasity Nicole. Survived by his parents; big brother, Ty Compton; maternal grandparents, Al and Charlotte Blankenship, Lucky and Margie Drinnen; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Glenda Berry; great-grandmother, Elizabeth Goodman; and many aunts, uncles, family and friends. The family will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery at 3:00 P.M. Friday August 4, for graveside services with Rev. Bill Romines and Rev. Charlie Reynolds officiating. James Franklin Long, Jr.

He was well known, respected and loved in the community and lived a good, full life, and dearly loved by his family. Ruth Elizabeth Adams

Adams, Ruth Elizabeth, age 89, of South Knoxville, passed away Sunday July 23, 2000 at her residence. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She graduated from Young High School in 1928; received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Tennessee in 1934; and received her Master's Degree from UT in June of 1953. She was a retired school teacher with the Knoxville City and County School system with 40 years of service teaching for 8 years at Mt. Olive Elementary School, 4 years at Bearden Junior High School, and 28 years at Young High School where she taught English. She tutored UT Football athletes for 2 years. She was a member of the Tennessee Education Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the University of Tennessee Century Club. She was preceded in death by husband Clure H. Adams and sister Mable Johnson. Special cousin and friend: Agnes Houser Funeral service 7:30 PM Tuesday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. George Hollander officiating. Pallbearers will be Paul Wolfenbarger, Jim Gibbs, Fred Childress, Joe Reed, Albert Fortner, Fred Houser, Walter B."Butch" Johnson II. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacon's of Immanuel Baptist Church. Interment will be Wednesday 10:30 AM in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM Tuesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
