Last surviving daughter of George Rainer Weaver, founder of Weaver Funeral Home. Preceded in death by parents, G.R. and Ida Bresler Weaver; husband, Howard Lee Cardwell; son, Herbert Earl Cardwell; twin brother, Earl Bresler Weaver; sister, Audrey Clendenen; brothers, Prentice, Hollis and Ray Weaver. Brother: Frank K. Weaver & wife, Joyce - Knoxville Graveside service 2:30 PM Friday at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Gerald McFarland officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Second United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy.

Beloved wife,mother and Schoolteacher, she left behind a legacy of mercy, love, and grace to all the lives she touched. Husband: Joe She endured a courageous battle with Leukemia, through which the Lord manifested his glory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crown Bible College of Powell, TN, alma mater for her Master's Degree in Education, Knoxville Baptist Christian School where she taught, and the Leukemia Society of America. Sarah Childress Major

Major, Sarah Childress, age 79, passed away Tuesday April 18, at St. Mary's Hospice in Halls after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Preceded in death by husband Carl H. Major and parents Henry & Rose Childress, sisters Jessie Armstrong Owens and Henrietta Beasley Hansbarger, brothers Robert & Glen Childress. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and previously attended Buffat Heights Baptist Church. Sarah worked for the Tennessee Department of Unemployment many years. She enjoyed bowling and fishing and she especially enjoyed her church friends and the fellowship with friends at Peterson Place. Her children and their spouses: Nancy & Jack Palmer of Seymour, Don & Lois Major of Winter Park, FL, Vickie & Dennis McGaha of Knoxville, and Mike & Sherry Major of Brighton, TN Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday 19th at Lynnhurst Greenwood Chapel with funeral services at 8:00pm with Dr. Scott Thomas and Dr. Charles Earl officiating. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Greenwood Chapel at 10:00 am to go in procession to Roseberry Cemetery for 11:00am graveside service. John David Hendon

Hendon, John David age 73 of Knoxville, was born February 7, 1927 in Osceola, Arkansas and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 11, 2000. His life was one of service. He retired from the United States Air Force with over 30 years service as Chief Master Sergeant of Medical Services. He was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church for the past 21 years where he loved and served faithfully. In addition he served as a handyman to many in the community. He was preceded in death by his father, John S. Hendon, and his brother Charles. Mother: Ollie Hendon of Dyess, Arkansas Funeral services are Friday, April 14, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with Rev. Randy Macon officiating. Military Honors will be provided by East Tennessee Honor Guard. Interment immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery on Tazewell Pike.

Chad Barton Jones

Jones, Chad Barton, born March 7, 1974, passed away April 11, 2000. He fought a long battle with a brain tumor. Chad was first diagnosed with the tumor when he was two years old. He had a total of five major brain surgeries. He never once complained but showed what great faith he had in Jesus Christ and what courage he had to do what had to be done. Chad was such a wonderful young man. He cared about all those he met. He loved his God and family very much. Chad will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Chad loved God most of all. He always had a smile and a funny story for all who needed cheering up. God has surely blessed us with a wonderful child. Now I know how God felt when He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. May God's will be done. Praise His Holy Name. Believe in Jesus so you too can be saved. May God bless and keep you. Chad graduated from Seymour High School in 1993 and attended Pellissippi State Community College before he became too ill. He collected basketball cards and was a fan of the Bulls and Lakers. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Seymour where he was baptized. Mom and Dad: Patsy and Gary Jones I'm sure Chad would want to mention his special friends at the Knoxville Police Department. He loved us all. He is also survived by second cousin Samuel Chadwick Addington who was Chad's namesake. A special thank you to the Nursing Staff at Baptist Hospital. May God bless us all. Funeral services will be Thursday, 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dr. David Lewis, Rev. Bob Tripp, Rev. Curt Franklin officiating. Pallbearers will be: Justin Wilson, Jason Wilson, Dr. Jerry Jones, Jr., Jerry Jones, Sr., Chris McCarty, and B.J. McNeely. Interment will be Friday, 10:00 AM at Highland South Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

Richards, Chesney, and Powers, and the Knox County Health Department. Preceded in death by husband Howard Wayland.
