Owned and operated building supply and construction company in South Knoxville and also Cedar Cove Way Campground in Dandridge, TN. Member of First Baptist Church of Dandridge and former member of Meridian Baptist Church, South Knoxville. Preceded in death by mother, Jessie K. Taylor; father, Dan Taylor; sisters, Ms. L.F. Douglas and Ms. Lucille C. Taylor; brother, Graham Ruble Taylor. Wife - Mrs. Rose J. Taylor Funeral services 2:00 PM Thursday, Berry Chapel. Dr. G. Ted Taylor & Pastor Dr. Robert McCray officiating. Interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa, TN. Pallbearers will be the Sr. Adult Sunday School Department of First Baptist Church, Dandridge. Pinkston, Lane Cox (L.C.), age 80, died Friday, March 10, 2000 at his new residence in Albany, GA. A native of Bulls Gap, TN. He lived in the Knoxville/Seymour area for 54 years. He served in the US Navy during WWII 1943-45 aboard LST's in the Pacific. He retired from the Southern Railway System as a Locomotive fireman/engineer after 41 years service during which he survived from a "Jessie Jones" type head-on derailment between a four unit diesel freight train and a steam passenger train while working as a fireman on October 18, 1951 near Craggy, NC. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church in Seymour. Wife: Laura Ann Pinkston - Albany, GA Funeral services 10:00 AM Saturday at Berry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harry Mynatt officiating.
