Long, Billy Floyd, age 67, of South Knoxville, passed away at his home Tuesday, January 9, 2001. He was a member of South Knoxville Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served onboard the Yorktown aircraft carrier No. 10 during the Korean War. He was employed by Knoxville Sand and Gravel for 15 years as a tow barge operator until an unfortunate accident shortened his career. He then, along with his wife, became a devoted caregiver to his children who were the focal point of his life.
