He retired from the United States Air Force with 20 years of service and also retired from the Knox County Sheriff's Department with 20 years of service. Amburn; son and daughter-in-law, Michael David and Ralane Amburn; son, Anthony Christopher Amburn; grandchildren, Ashley and Abbey Amburn; special mother-in-law, Nell Anderson; very special and devoted friends, Ron and Jeanie Kors; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Clell David Watson, age 84 of Gatlinburg, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at Fort Sanders-Sevier Medical Center. He was a charter member of Roaring Fork Baptist Church. Mr. Watson owned and operated Watson’s Grocery Store in Gatlinburg for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents David Ellis and Lillie Mae (Trentham) Watson; brothers Olin and Charles Watson. Cashion, Alberta "Jack" -born July 2, 1914, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2002 in Washington, Georgia. She was a graduate of Young High School, class of 1933, attended Maryville College and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1941 with a Bachelors of Science in Education. She also graduated from George Peabody College for Teachers in 1949 with a Bachelors of Science in Library Science. Alberta taught school in Blountville, Tennessee before accepting the position of Librarian at Young High School in 1955. She served in that capacity at Young, and subsequently at South-Young High School until retirement in 1979. During retirement, she performed volunteer work at Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Vestal Methodist Church where she served as organist for 47 years. Miss Cashion was an honorary member of the Knoxville Chapter of the American Guild of Organist, and was recently acknowledged by the Guild for Meritorious Service. She loved her friends and family, her church, music, Tennessee football, wildlife (especially birds), and the Appalachian Mountains. She is survived by three nephews, Robert Cashion of Huntsville, Alabama, John Cashion of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and James Cashion of Wytheville, Virginia; three nieces, Mary Lou Cashion McPherson of Lexington, Georgia, Virginia Cashion Brooks of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Candy Cashion Younker of Melbourne, Florida; nine great nephews and nieces; and four great-great nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Vestal United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vestal United Methodist Church, 115 Ogle Street, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920.
