Davis, Carolyn Woods, age 63, of South Knoxville, passed away as a result of complications from a lung transplant at Vanderbilt Hospital. She had fought a courageous fight against Alpha-1 Emphysema for 26 years. Member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. Retired from Sinclair Construction Company after 16 years of service. Carolyn will be missed by her family and her many friends and neighbors. Preceded in death by father, Elmer Woods and brother, Jimmy Woods. Carolyn is survived by husband of 46 years, George C. Davis; daughter, Cathy Davis; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jeanne Davis; granddaughters, Phoenix Anderson, Crystal Painter and Tangee Davis; great grandson, Jacob Painter; mother, Kathleen (Dolly) Woods; brother, Randy Woods; numerous other relatives. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 pm Saturday, prior to the funeral service at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Kirk Werner officiating. Pallbearers will be Lee Cassidy, Jim Smith, Thomas Timm, Shane Woods, Mike McMillan and Jim Carmon. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Smith, Carrie Lee -age 95, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2002 at Baptist Hospital, Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church and retired from East Tennessee Packing House. Preceded in death by her mother, Liza Jane Morris; father, Jerry Morris; husbands, Roy Childress and Harvey Smith; and brothers, Ross Morris, Elwood Morris, Rodgers Morris, and Jerry Mac Morris. She is survived by nephew, Ross D. Morris; nieces, Geraldine Jennings, Brenda Benton-Snow, and Gayle Morris Gideon; and several great nieces and nephews. The family would like to especially thank Peggy and Buddy Cupp, who were loving friends and caregivers to her. Her life would not have been the same without them. Funeral services will be held 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Berry Chapel. Family and friends will meet 10:00 a.m. Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery for interment service. Stephens, Ann Mary Harmon, age 86, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2002. She was a very active member of First Baptist Church, Knoxville, where she was part of the Baptist Women and Rebekah Sunday School Class. Mrs. Stephens was Past President of the Opti-Mrs. Club. She was the personal secretary for Mayor Leonard Rogers for eight years and was employed at Highland Products for 25 years and worked in the finance department for the County Courthouse. Preceded in death by parents Estle and Mabel Harmon. Husband of 65 years, Hal Calvin Stephens; daughter, Brenda Stephens Edmondson of Chattanooga, TN; son, Ronald H. Stephens of Knoxville, TN; grandsons: Keith Eric Edmondson, Blake Stephen Edmondson, Brent Darren Stephens, Matthew Justin Stephens; brother, Robert Phillip Harmon of Clemson, SC; several nieces and nephews.
