Member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church and was active in the Friendly Club. Son, Robert "Bob" Edwards; daughters: Angeline T. Hamock and husband, Jerry Hamock; Susie Helmboldt-Jones and husband, Michael Jones; grandchildren: Mark D. Helmboldt, Jr., Brandi K. Heiks, Robert B. Watson, and Michaela K. Jones; great-grandchildren: Cassandra Helmboldt, Mark D. Helmboldt III, Haley C. Gaureavu. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Berry Chapel, with Geoff Mabe, Rev. Robert Branch, and Rev. David Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Military honors by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

Mother, Martha Ward; daughter, Mandy Broughton; son, Matthew Cameron; sister, Sheila Broughton; father, Charles Broughton; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Family and friends will meet on Thursday at 2:45 p.m. at New Gray Cemetery for a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Wesley Ingram officiating. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

Parker, Jr 7 Grandchildren Funeral Mass 11 AM Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Father Jay Flaherty officiating. Interment will follow in Mattox Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 PM Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 144 Wears Valley Rd., Pigeon Forge, Tn. 37863.

Charles Loyce Gibbs

Gibbs, Charles Loyce, age 74, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away Thursday, September 12, 2002 at home. Beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church and retired from White Stores. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anna Lee and George Allen Gibbs and sister, Virginia. Wife, Margaret Gibbs; son, Chuck Gibbs; daughters, Terry Kitts and Sandy Brewer; daughter-in-law, Jodi Gibbs; sons-in-law, Jerry Brewer and Bill Kitts; grandchildren: Aleigha Gibbs, Kris and Kristin Kitts, Braden and Britney Brewer; Heather Brewer; brother, Jim Gibbs; very special friends: Gene and Evelyn Love and Debbie and Harold Dexter, Andrea Hoskins, Ryan Moody, Jared Bogott, and Justin Mincey. "If we meet and you forget me you have lost nothing, but if you meet Jesus Christ and forget Him you have lost everything." Funeral service Sunday 2:00 p.m., Berry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Clyde Lakin officiating. Interment will follow service at Highland South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

Patricia Ann Whitchurch

Patricia Ann Whitchurch, of Gatlinburg. Age 53 Local artist and business woman passed away Friday Sept. 13, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Darrell Whitchurch, and two sons; Christian Whitchurch of Fredicksburg, Va. And Nathan Whitchurch and his fiancé Amanda Gaddis of Meridian, Ms. Parents, Frank and Lorraine Piecuch also of Gatlinburg as well as her brother Mitchell and his wife Sandy from Auburn, Oh.; Brother-in-law, David and Pam from Englewood, Oh. As well as many nieces and nephews. Patricia was an active member of the Gatlinburg community serving on many boards and committees such as the Gatlinburg Dept. of Tourism Advisory Board and was one of the founding members of the Great Smoky Mt. Arts and Crafts Museum Board. She was an active member of American Legion Auxillary Post 202 and President of the East Tn. Porcelian Artist Association. A working artist she also taught many others at various art schools and was the featured artist at several large shows and conferences. Memorial service 4 PM Tuesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Father Carroll Howlin officiating. Family and friends are invited to the home after the Memorial service.

Larry Wayne Galyon

Larry Wayne Galyon, age 47 of Seymour went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, September 13, 2002. Larry was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was and still is loved by many. Though we will dearly miss him, we know he now rests in peace in a much better place. He was preceded in death by his mother Sarah Ellen Berry Galyon Hicks; and father Loyd Galyon. Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law: Melissa Galyon-Bell and husband Dan Bell Son: Jason Galyon Grandchildren: Brandon, Jonathan, and Kristopher Sister and brother-in-law: Sandra and Jeff Latham Brother: Donnie Galyon Brother and sister-in-law: Vernon and Pam Galyon Nieces: Angela, Amy, Sarah, and Tammy Nephews: Wayne and Joey Numerous aunts, uncles, great-nieces and great-nephews The family would like to thank the staff of Baptist Hospital and all caregivers for their services and many thoughts and prayers. Funeral service 6 PM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Little officiating. Family and friends will meet 3 PM Sunday at Dupont Cemetery for interment.
