He was preceded in death by his parents Lizzie Alice King and Ashley R. Watson; infant brother Paul Watson. Keck, Ross R., age 77, of Ross, Ohio, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2002 at Mercy Franciscan Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was retired from Sherwin-Williams and Westinghouse. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; sister, Robbie Sue Weigel; and brother Forrest Keck. Wife, Jatana Keck; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Gary E. He was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Decatur, Alabama; the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. He was retired from the Army Missile Command, Marshal Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Alabama and was a World War II Air Force veteran. He is predeceased by his parents, Mr. Ennis Bafford Grooms and Mrs. Bessie Grooms Roach, both of Sevier County, Tennessee. His wife of 55 years, Margaret M. Grooms; daughter, Pamela; son-in-law, Forrest; and grandsons, Dan and Greg Martino, all of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Mildred Grooms of Decatur; nieces, Charlene Low Namie, Susan D. Petruska, Walter, age 83, born November 28, 1918 in Trenton, NJ. Surrounded by loving family, Walt passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2002 at Lady Lake Specialty Care Center in Lady Lake, FL after a short illness. He served in the Navy during World War II and worked for the government for 30 years as an accountant. He was an avid golfer and he and his wife Fran especially enjoyed traveling and dancing and visiting with family. His wife Fran of the home; his son Walter and wife Ann of Albany, GA; his daughter Patricia McKinney and her husband Bob of Shawnee, KS; as well as grandchildren Kathleen Ann Smith; Robert McKinney, Jr.; and Martin McKinney all of Kansas City; Renee Ward of Trinity, NC; Walter V. Petruska of Albany, GA; and great-grandchildren Shaun, Daniel, twins Erin Kate and Tyler Henry, Nicole Danielle, Montana, Kathryn, Drake, Cheyenne, and Caroline. Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to either the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society. He will live on in the hearts of his family and friends and will be sadly missed.
