Ruby Gladys Fuqua, 83, of Rock Island passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2001.
Fuqua was born October 19, 1917, in White County, the daughter of Sylvester Southard and Ollie Bryant. She was a member of the Church of God and a homemaker.
Services were Thursday, March 8, 2001, in High Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Shellsford Cemetery. Steve Breedlove officiated.
Fuqua was preceded in death by Billy Southard, Agnes Davis, Martha Threet and a grandson, Jason Buckner.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley McCormick of Rock Island; Anna sue Cutts of Nashville; four grandchildren, Tim Buckner, Kevin McCormick, Lynn McCormick, Amanda McCormick, a sister, Hattie Bates of McMinnville; two great-grandchildren, Kristan Buckner and Dakota McCormick.

Cornelia Carmen Carter
Cornelia Carmen Carter, 87, of Sparta passed away Sunday, April 8, 2001.
Carter was born May 22, 1913, in Dayton, Tennessee, the daughter of Dwight and Melissa Carmen. She was a homemaker.
Services were Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Rose Cemetery. Dave Shelley officiated.
Carter was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Delany and Cordell Carter.
Survivors include her brother, Ralph Carmen of McMinnville, several nieces and nephews.

Tommy Lee Cantrell
Tommy Lee Cantrell, 66, of Sparta passed away Sunday, April 8, 2001.
Cantrell was born November 16, 1934, in Sparta, the son of Lonnie Earl and Ollie Mae Carr Cantrell. He was a truck driver.
Services were Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. David Lee England officiated.
Cantrell was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sue Cantrell of Sparta; a son, David Cantrell and wife Myra of Sparta; two grandchildren, Amy Cantrell of Sparta and Holly Cantrell of Sparta.

Elizabeth Mitchell Haston
Elizabeth Mitchell Haston, 89, of Sparta passed away Monday, April 9, 2001.
Haston was born March 15, 1912, in White County, the daughter of Wayne M. and Florence Steakley Mitchell. She was a homemaker.
Services were Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in the Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Highland Cemetery. Don England and Joe Wallace officiated.
Haston was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Vincent Haston, and her parents.
Survivors include her son, Lynn and wife Frances Haston of Sparta; two daughters, Kay and husband Don England of Sparta; Judy McDonald of Sparta; a sister, Kathryn Harris of Sparta; eight grandchildren, Charles Haston; Waymon Haston; Julia Wood; Debbie Foster; David England; Lori Lynch; Robert McDonald; Steve McDonald; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Elizabeth “Sis” Ray Gasperone
Mary Elizabeth “Sis” Ray Gasperone, 75, of Sparta passed away Friday, April 6, 2001.
Gasperone was born in White County, the daughter of John Casto and Jennie Lee Ray. She was retired from the White County Human Resources.
Services were Monday, April 9, 2001, in the Thurman Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Saylors Cemetery. Brother Rick Davis officiated.
Gasperone was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Gasperone.
Survivors include her daughter, Jo Ann Goodwin of Sparta; two sons, John Ray Gasperone of AZ; Ronald Keith of AZ; four sisters, Dorothy Rust of Sparta; Mable Gray of Sparta; Garnetta Flatt of Sparta; Auda Loftin of GA; a brother, Joe Ray of Sparta; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mary Edith Swindell
Mary Edith Swindell, 91, of McMinnville passed away on Monday, April 9, 2001.
Swindell was born December 31, 1909, in White County, the daughter of Henry and Alice Knowles Gillette. She was a seamstress.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April 13, 2001, in the Gardens of Memory. Lee Perkins will officiate.
Swindell was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Loyde Swindell; daughter, Sheila Markum; sons-in-law, Tom Markum and Alex Pistole; sister, Myrtie Hudson and brothers, Charlie, Dudley and Ray Gillette.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mertie and Lannie Clemons of McMinnville; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Scarlett and Phillip Stout of McMinnville; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Larry and Tere Pistole of St. Stephens Church, Virginia, Tommy and Kathy Markum of McMinnville and Neal Pistole of Murfreesboro; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

William Thomas (Bill) Muncey, 69, of McMinnville passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001.
Muncey was born August 24, 1931, in Warren County, the son of John and Letha Basham Muncey. He was a timber/nursery worker and a Baptist.
Services were Thursday, April 12, 2001, in the Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Bobby Muncey and George Roberts officiated.
Muncey was preceded in death by a son, Billy Muncey; a brother, Rick Muncey; and sister, Dora Turner.
Survivors include her son, Gary Dewayne Muncey of McMinnville; brothers, Bobby Muncey of McMinnville; Johnny Muncey Jr. of McMinnville; Andy Muncey of McMinnville; sisters, Dorothy Simmons of Spencer; Dena Mahaffey of Centertown; daughter-in-law, Myrna Lou Bouldin of McMinnville; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
