Funeral services for Mary Claiborne Blankenship Nixon, age 85, of Lafayette were conducted Saturday, September 20, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home with Elder Ricky Wilson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Derek Dorris and all employees of Knollwood Manor. Active pallbearers were Adam Vance, Richard Driver, Phillip Claiborne, Mike Claiborne, Ricky E. Mary Nixon passed away September 18, 2003, at Macon County General Hospital.
A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Wilson C. and Altie Mae Hire Claiborne. She was married to Norman J.P. Blankenship who preceded her in death on January 28, 1957. She married Loyal Edmond Nixon who preceded her in death on december 30, 1983. She was also preceded in death by sons Larry and Billy Wayne Blankenship; and brothers Cordell and Roy Claiborne. She retired from Marlene Industries in Hartsville, TN where she worked in shipping and packing.
Survivors include: daughter Kathy Blankenship, Westmoreland; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayland and Brenda Blanken-ship, Lafayette, Charles and Mary Ann Blankenship, Seymour, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gracie and Audie Smith, Madison, TN, Louise and Limon Gammon, Indianapolis, IN; and brother and sister-in-law, James and Dixie Claiborne, Greenbrier, TN., 8 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild.

Sona Irene Braswell
Sona Irene Braswell, age 48, of Red River Road, Gallatin, TN, passed away at Sumner Regional Medical Center on November 1, 2003.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, 1 p.m. at Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland, conducted by Bro. Jim Fields and Bro. Joe Taylor. Burial was in Sumner Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Josh Mink, T.J. Campbell, Clyde & Phillip Sanders, Marty Hester, Mike Black, Jr., Charles Isham, Sr. and David Braswell.
She was born in Gallatin, TN on June 13, 1955, a daughter of the late Ray Dean Braswell and Sue Duffer Braswell of Westmoreland, who survives. She was a garment factory worker.
Survivors besides her mother include a son, Shawn Christopher Gregory of Westmoreland; two daughters, Tonya Gregory Taylor and Andrea Isham of Gallatin; a brother, Joe Dean Braswell of Westmoreland; special friend, Mike Black, Sr.; two grandchildren.

Katherine Carter
Katherine Carter, age 82, of Froedge Lane in Lafayette and formerly of Westmoreland, passed away at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Jan. 8, 2003.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, 2:00 p.m. at Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland, conducted by Bro. Jerry Gammons. Burial was in Siloam Cemetery.
She was born in Westmoreland, TN, Aug. 28, 1920, a daughter of the late Coleman Hammock and Marty Hawkins Hammock. She was married to Rudolph Carter, who preceded her in death. She was retired from Westmoreland Mfg. and was a member of Siloam Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene (Paulette) Carter of Chattanooga, TN, Tommy (Lie Dora) Carter of Lafayette, TN; three daughters, Dora (R.B.) Gully of Westmoreland, Rosie (Earl) Akin of Scottsville, KY, Mary Locke of Lebanon, TN; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Young Hammock; two sisters, Era Lamberth and Etnlene Douglas; and a grandson, Ronnie Gully.

Emma Eugene Cherry
Emma Eugene Cherry, 94, of Chicken Branch Road, Red Boiling Springs, TN, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at Macon County General Hospital.
She was born in Clay County, TN on Sept. 29, 1908, a daughter of the late Ira and Letha Newman McCormick. She was married to William Robert Cherry on Feb. 14, 1946, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of Union Hill Wesleyan Church in Clay County.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 26, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel, conducted by Bro. Floyd Ferguson. Burial was in Neal Cemetery in Monroe County, KY. Pallbearers were Larry Brown, Bobby Morgan, James Cherry, Rusty Francis, Randall Brown & Joe Price.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Earl Wayne and Wanda Cherry of Red Boiling Springs; siser, Bonnell Hunt, Indianapolis, IN; brother, Dave McCormick, Indianapolis, IN; one grandson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul McCormick; and five sisters, Mamie Keeling, Zelma McCormick, Exie Price, Nova Richardson, and Thelma Short.
Terry Driver
Terry "Jackhammer" Driver, 44 of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2003 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born July 4, 1958, and was a 1977 graduate of Macon County High School. He was a member of Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church and was the Assistant Fire Chief for the City of Lafayette Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Duffer Driver; a son, Nathan Driver; his father, Clyde "Pete" Driver; his mother, Jessie York Driver; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Donna Driver, all of Lafayette, TN; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Charles Johnson, Kingston Springs, TN; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services for Terry "Jackhammer" Driver were conducted at Wednesday, September 24, 2003, 11:00 a.m., at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Richard Wilson, Eld. Anthony Hale, Eld. Don Curtis, and Lafayette Fire Chief Keith Scruggs officiating. Burial was in Macon County Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were Troy Brawner, Michael Cothron, Michael Duffer, Barron Smith, Scott Sadler, Nicholas Jones, Rick Gann, and Terry Gann. Honorary pallbearers were members of Lafayette Fire Department and all City of Lafayette employees.

Geralene Jones Warner, 60, of Holder Branch Lane, Hartsville, Tennessee, passed away Friday, November 12, 2004 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Monday, April 10, 1944, a daughter of the late Winford Jones and Ruby Idell Frye Jones. She was a homemaker and member of Cedar Bluff Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Ronnie Frye, Portland, TN; a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Hollie White, Lafayette, TN; 2 brothers, Jake Jones, Hartsville, TN; and J. W. Jones, Red Boiling Springs, TN; 6 sisters, Beverly Walrond and Lona Swindle, both of Lafayette, TN; Barbara Jared, Hollis Seagraves, and Maybell Cothron, all of Hartsville, TN; and Norma Jean Brown, Portland, TN; 2 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lonnie Jones and Charlie Jones, and a sister, Betty Lee Jones.

Earl Wilson Chandler
Funeral services for Earl Wilson Chandler, age 87, of Union Camp Road, Lafayette, TN were conducted Monday, September 27, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder Frankie Kirby officiating. Pallbearers were Michael Chandler, Tony Chandler, Terry Chandler, Wendell Meador, Kerry Emberton, and Harold Meador. Interment was in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park.
Earl Chandler passed away Saturday morning, September 25, 2004 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, TN.
A native of Macon County, TN, he was the son of the late R.L. "Bob" and Johnnie Gregory Chandler. On December 20, 1936, he was married to Lula Belle West, who preceded him in death on November 6, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Glenda Young Brawner; sisters, Pernie Smith, Dorothy West, Rebecca Herald, & Thelma Brown; and infant brother, William Chandler. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include: daughter, Nancy (Harold) Meador and son, Ray (Linda) Chandler, all of Lafayette, TN; sisters, Gracie Mitchell of Gallatin, TN and Dorch Hesson of Lafayette, TN; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
