Howard Clinton Cothron, age 86, of Lafayette, TN., was pronounced dead on arrival Monday, June 7, 2004 at Macon County General Hospital. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Saturday, February 2, 1918, a son of the late Elisha Cothron and Susan Vance Cothron, and was a farmer.
Charles Wayne Cummings
Charles Wayne Cummings, 37, of 690 Macedonia Road, Adolphus, KY died at 7:44 PM Sunday, June 6, 2004, at The Medical Center at Scottsville from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. The Allen County native was an employee of IMI and a member of Teamsters Union #89 and Biker's Association of Motorcycles. He was a son of Earl Wayne Cummings and Doris Jean Perry Cummings of Scottsville, KY, who survive.

The Fayette County, Alabama native was a daughter of the late Drew Lane and Bertha Maddox Lane, a registered nurse, and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. She was united in marriage of January 7, 1954 to Fred Curtis Goad, who preceded her in death on November 18, 1991.

The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Saturday, February 23, 1924, a daughter of the late Prentice Fishburn and Nettie Marsh Fishburn. She was a homemaker, a member of Meadorville Missionary Baptist Church, and was united in marriage on December 27, 1941 to Eugene D. Sexton, who preceded her in death on March 16, 2003.

James Ellis Clay, 96, of Huntsville died Thursday, Sept. 30. Mr. Clay was born in Pelham, Grundy County, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a major in agriculture. He worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service for 32 years before retiring. He was a Methodist and a Mason and attended local chapters of NARFE and AARP. He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Clay; parents, George and Maggie Conry Clay; six brothers and one sister.

She was a homemaker, a member of White Oak Church of Christ, and wife of the late Blon Johnson Driver, who preceded her in death on December 23, 1981.

Alphus Earl Keen, 81, of the Rocky Mound Community, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Compre-hensive Care Center in Hartsville, Tennessee. The Allen County, Kentucky native was born Tuesday, April 3, 1923, a son of the late Marvin Lee Keen and Fonzie Mae McGuffee Keen. He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II, a member of Trammel Lodge #436 F.& A.M., a member of Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church since 1947, where he has served as a deacon since 1956, a treasurer and assistant treasurer from 1956 to 1995, and was a retired employee of General Electric in Hendersonville, Tennessee. On November 16, 1946, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Louise Meador Keen.

Pallbearers were Mark Evans, Allen Blake, Billy Estep, Lawerence Sanders, Joe Hill, Jake Tuck. Interment was in the Whitley Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were his great-grandchildren. Grandsons served as active pallbearers. Interment followed in Macon County Memorial Gardens.

The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Tuesday, April 16, 1918, a daughter of the late Luther Holland and Myrtie Scott Holland. She was a retired inspector for Trousdale Manufacturing Company and a member of Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church. On September 17, 1936 she was united in marriage to George William White, who preceded her in death on December 21, 1995.

The Sumner County, Tennessee native was born Monday, October 9, 1916, a daughter of the late Sam Escue and Martha Carter Escue. She was a homemaker and member of Buffalo Springs Missionary Baptist Church. On June 26, 1934 she was united in marriage to James Whited, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1996.
