George William Adler
George William Adler, 88, of Gainesboro passed away Wednesday, July 28, at the Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born March 28, 1916 in Bergen, N.J., to George Adler and Nellie Revis Adler, both of whom preceded him in death.
Mr. Adler was retired from the New York Stock Exchange, and is survived by a nephew, Bruce Adler of Florida.
Burial was in Williams Cemetery.

Ronnie Spivey
Mr. Ronnie Spivey, 54, of Huber Heights, passed away unexpectedly while camping Friday, July 23. Ronnie was a devoted family man and the best husband, dad & son on earth. He was an avid outdoorsman and NASCAR fan. Ronnie was known as “the world’s best griller and everyone’s friend.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Lee Spivey. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his mother, Lillie; one sister, Judy (Bob) Kelly; two daughters, Melanie (Jeff) Smith and Sarah Spivey; three sons, Joshua Spivey, James and Keith (Michele) Parsons; 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Ronnie was the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Long and Mr. and Mrs. Rad Spivey. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services were held 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, at Newcomer Farley Funeral Home. Interment was at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Pastor Kenneth Gresh officiated. Expressions of Sympathy may be made at www.newcomerfamily.com.

Avle E. (Doc) Garrett

Mr. “Doc” Garrett, 79, of the Monroe Community passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, at his home. Funeral services were held Aug. 5 at Livingston Funeral Home, with Bro. Terry McCloud and Bro. Mark Hodge presiding. Interment was at Hoover Cemetery.
Mr. Garrett was born Feb. 16, 1925 in Overton County. He was a member of the Allons Assembly of God, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Etter Garrett; sisters Nelma Ledbetter and Ella Garrett; and brothers Dorma and Norton Garrett.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Linnie (Carr) Garrett of Monroe; son David Garrett and wife Tammy of Monroe; sisters Norma Smith and Margie Marise, both of Livingston; grandchildren Julie and Rebecca Garrett; and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Pallbearers include Charles Ledbetter, Chris Brown, Jamie Garrett, Brad Summers, Kevin Hunter and Tracy Sells.

Nellie Margaret McDonald
Mrs. Nellie Margaret McDonald, 85, passed away Sept. 25 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 27 at Bethsaida Christian Church in Monroe, with Bro. Bob Stoner presiding. Interment followed at Bethsaida Cemetery. Pallbearers were Raymond McDonald, Sr., Ralph C. McDonald, Jr., Michael D. McDonald, Bryce E. McDonald, and Caleb Michael McDonald.
Mrs. McDonald was born Aug.15, 1919, in Pickett County, where her was a member of the Bethsaida Christian Church.
Surviving relatives include two nephews, Raymond D. McDonald of Royal Oak, Mich., and Ralph C. McDonald, Sr. and wife, Judith A. of Monroe; sister-in-law, Octava “Tay” McDonald, Monroe; great-nephews, Ralph C. McDonald, Jr. and wife, Jogena of Alpine, Michael D. McDonald and wife Anita of Monroe; Bryce E. McDonald of Crossville; great-great nieces and nephews, Caleb, Wade, Cole, Matthew, Clay, Michaela and Cierra. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Florence “Stephens” Boles; husband Lawrence C. McDonald; sister, Dorothy Mae Boles and an infant sister.
Special care was provided by Livingston Funeral Home.

Alma Floy (Carter) Harvey
Mrs. Alma Floy (Carter) Harvey, 78, passed away Sept. 26 at Overton County Nursing Home. Funeral services were held at the Chapel of the Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Winningham presiding. Interment followed at Old Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jacob Harvey, Junior Carter, Matthew Harvey, Roger Harvey, James Sells and Johnny Hoy Carter.
Mrs. Harvey was born Feb. 25, 1926 in Overton County where she was a member of The Free Communion Church of Christ.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Louise Copeland and husband Leonard of Hilham, Lisa Medley and husband Ronnie of Smithville; son, Larry Harvey and wife June of Allons; five sisters, Marie Sells of Allons, Betty Verble of Algood, Ann Galbert of Zenia, OH, Henrietta Carter of Monroe, Irene Carter of Livingston; six Grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth “Richardson” Carter, husband, Onas Harvey, son, Leon Jeff Harvey, and brother Coy Carter.

Mr. Delphis Reeder “Dale”

Mr. Delphis Reeder “Dale”, 72, passed away Sept. 26, in Nashville. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept, 29, at the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home in Celina, with Bro. Shirley Jones officiating. Interment followed at Martin Chapel Cemetery in Overton County. Pallbearers were Phillip Reeder, Rick Reeder, Jeff Reeder, Mike Reeder, Franky Beason, and David King.
Mr. Reeder was born April 16, 1932 in Clay County.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Lonnie and wife Judy Reeder of Nashville, Steven Woodard of Nashville; one daughter, Brenda and husband Bobby Lawrence of Springfield; one brother, Harold and Mary Reeder of Celina; two sisters, Dean and Rivers Padgett of Allons and Virginia Stover of Anderson, IN; six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Walter Reeder and Mary Lou Harvey Reeder, and one brother J.B. Reeder.

Rosie Mae Hoover

Mrs. Rosie Mae Hoover, 95, passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Holly Convalescent Center in Michigan. Funeral services were held October 3, at the Chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. Interment followed at the Cedar Chapel Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Clarence Dixon Jr. of Fenton Mich., Clyde Dixon of St. Joseph, Mich.; four grandchildren, Cole, Paul, David and Helen Dixon; two great grandchildren, Isabella and Eva; and one brother, Lon Hoover of Hanging Limb. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Dixon.

Jean Marguerite Smith

Mrs. Jean Marguerite Smith, 89, passed away Sept. 27 at Rosewalk Village in West Lafayette, IN. Funeral services were held Wednesday Sept. 29 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, IN, with Pastor Thomas Blackford officiating. Interment followed at Smith Family Cemetery in Byrdstown.
Mrs. Smith was born July 25, 1915 in Carroll County, IN, and was also a member of Memorial Parkway Church of Christ.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Doris Steele of Logansport, IN, Imogene Linedecker of Lebanon, IN, Charlene Clark of West Lafayette, IN; two sons, Lloyd Smith of Rural Frankfort, IN, and Charles H. Smith of Livingston; one sister, Virginia Tharp of Lake Placid, FL; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Coy C. Smith which she married on July 30, 1938, and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Peggy Ogletree Claborn

Mrs. Peggy Ogletree Claborn, 67, passed away Sept. 7 in Lawton OK. Funeral services were held at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment followed in Apache, OK.
Mrs. Clayborn was born January 7, 1937. She is survived by one son, Bobbie Claborn and wife Christy; one grand daughter, Bobbie Gene Claborn; two sisters, Betty Ogletree Bowling of Livingston and Anna Sue Densmore of Fortville, IN. and several nieces and nephews.

Lillie Mae Walker Meadows

Mrs. Lillie Mae Walker Meadows, 77, passed away Sept. 19 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston, with Bro. Noland Cantrel officiating. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark, Ryan, Jason and Josh Meadows, Steven and Ronnie and James Walker, and Ken Hake.
Mrs. Meadows was born May 20, 1927, in Overton County, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include her husband, James E. Meadows, Livingston; sons Bronnie Meadows, Livingston, Rod Meadows, Monroe, Clifton Meadows, Franklin, and Donald Meadows, Trafalgar, IN; daughter Barbara Meadows Hake, Hendersonville, NC; sister Opal Walker Nolan, Livingston. She has eleven grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents, Wiley and Rosie Thrasher Walker and son Ronald Meadows.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Maxine Maynord Martin

Mrs. Maxine Maynord Martin, 92, passed away Sept. 28 at Overton County Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 30, at Rickman Chapel Speck Funeral Home in Rickman, with Bro. Roger Anderson officiating. Internment followed at Netherland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Zachary Taylor, Phillip Livingston, Josh Ray, Richard Freeman, Keith Taylor, and Chris Roberts.
Mrs. Martin was born Jan. 5, 1912, in Clay County, where she was an active member of the Netherland Church of Christ.
Surviving relatives include daughters, Sharon Lee Reels, Cookeville, Mildred Flo Reels, Ruby Gail Livingston, and Reba June Dennis, all of Rickman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kirby Haskell Maynord; daughter Anna Ruth Maynord; sons Louis Kirby Maynord and Haskell Maynord, Jr.; grandson David Floyd Reels; brothers Cordell, Joe, Fred, and Frank Williams; and sister Olene Kilmon Smith.
