Mr. Arthur Elmer (Bud) Sells, 78, passed away Jan. 30 at his home in Monroe. Funeral services were held Feb. 1 at Speck Funeral Home with Bros. Aron Dillon, Bob Stoner and Robert Wright officiating. Interment followed at the Green Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Coy Padgett, Dudley Talley, Rodney Padgett, Buddy Sells, Eddie Sells, Frankie Talley, Matthew Talley and Chase Talley. Honorary pallbearers were Warren Choate, Ray King, James Tinch, George Sells, Eugene McDonald, Kelly Hull and Robert Norris.
Mr. Sells was born Dec. 5, 1926 in Overton County. He attended the Beaty Swamp Community Church and was a member of the West Fork CB Club.
Surviving relatives include one son, William Sells of Livingston; two daughters, Martha Jane and husband Rod Padgett of Monroe and Margaret Ann Talley of Monroe; one brother, Hershel P. (Big Boy) Sells of Crossville; one sister, Alice Carmel Norris of Livingston; grandchildren, Coy Padgett, Dudley and wife Kellie Talley, Rodney and wife Tracey Padgett, Buddy Sells, Eddie Sells, Frankie Talley and Jayne Ann Ferrell; great grandchildren, Matthew, Chase and Jayna Kate Ferrell and Megan and Beth Talley; special nephews, Robert Norris and Jerry Winningham; honorary grandsons, Duke and Paul Doubler; special friends, Warren Choate, James and Norma Tinch, Ray and Wilma King and Eugene McDonald.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Seth and Tina Threet Sells; wife, Zola C. Sells and several brothers and sisters.

Elsie Irene Vaughn
Housewife
Mrs. Elsie Irene Vaughn, 83, passed away Jan. 31 at her home in Livingston. Funeral services were held Feb. 2 with Bro. Marlon Winningham and Bro. Wayne Taylor officiating. Interment followed at the Miller Cemetery.
Pallbearers included, Terry Staggs, Michael Vaughn, Michael Neal, Ray Staggs, Joey Staggs and David Pryor.
Mrs. Vaughn was born March 15, 1921 in Pickett County and was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Surviving relatives include sons, Randell and wife Patricia Vaughn of Livingston, Charles and wife Mae Vaughn of Livingston and James and wife Helen Vaughn of Rickman; daughters, Kay and husband Jackie Staggs of Livingston, Carol and husband Roy Auberson of Livingston, Peggy and husband Jim Sullivan of Rickman, Mary and husband Glen Gilpatrick of Jamestown, Ky. and Arlene Long of Livingston; one brother, Willie D. Pryor of Livingston; twenty two-grandchildren and thirty six-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Joe and Lucy Dennis Pryor; husband, Stanley Waymon Vaughn; sisters, Eva Stover, Mae Vaughn, Odeda Keisling and Jeanette Pryor; grandson, Tony Staggs and twin great-grandsons, Erick and Derick Staggs.

Woodrow Hite
Retired coal miner
Mr. Woodrow Hite, 89, passed away Feb. 4 at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Monterey. Funeral services were held Feb. 6 at the Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Kirby officiating. Interment followed at the Welch Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Hite was born May 17, 1915 in Overton County and was a member of the UMWA and attended the Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Wanda and husband David Austin of Monterey, Gloria and husband Roy Phillips of Monterey and Brenda and husband Basil Phillips of Monterey; three sons, Cluster Hite of Monterey, Ronald and wife Wanda Hite of Monterey and Tim and wife Angie Hite of Livingston; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Tina Jones of Sophia, WV.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shelia Smith Hite; daughter-in-law, Carrie Hite; two sisters, Rosie Isabell and Edna Hite; three brothers, Walter, Clyde and Ernest Hite.

Issac Carter Masters
Carpenter
Mr. Issac Carter Masters, 79, passed away Jan. 30 at Nashville General Hospital. Funeral services were held Feb. 4 at Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Dewey Glen Masters officiating.
Pallbearers were Butch Allen, Ron Masters, John Webb, Jack Pigg, Clifford Choate and Jim Hicks.
Mr. Masters was born May 8, 1925 in Overton County. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church, a 38 year member of Livingston Lodge #259 and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.
Surviving relatives include son, Alan and wife Amy Masters of St. Marys, Ga.; grandchildren, Heather Yuill and Casey Leigh Masters; great-grandchildren, Skylar masters, Elizabeth Yuill, Austin Yuill and Bryce Blakely; brother, Robert Howard Masters of Livingston.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Issac G. and Stella D. Loftis Masters; sisters, Eva Mitchell and Edith Chettle and brother, Morrison Masters.

Michael Thomeczek
Owner and operator of the High Hope Machine Shop
Mr. Michael Thomeczek, 46, passed away Feb. 5 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Feb. 8 at the Goff Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Goggins officiating. Interment followed at the Eckel Cemetery.
Mr. Thomeczek was born Aug. 6, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio.
Surviving relatives include wife, April Sewell Thomeczek of the Hardy Chapel Community of Overton County; three daughters, Julie Warren of Dayton, Ohio, Jessica Thomeczek of Dayton, Ohio and Jillian Thomeczek of Monterey; one son, Michael Thomeczek of the Hardy Chapel Community; three step children, James, Chris and Tommy Keagle, all of the Hardy Chapel Community; four grandchildren, Alex Warren, Taylor Farley, Jayson Farley and Carlie Blankenship; six sisters, Judy Michael, Mary Longo and Patti Ott, all of Beaver Creek, Ohio, Lois Pond of Dayton, Ohio, Debbie Smith of Bellbrook, Ohio and Theresa Brechak of St. Petersburg, Ohio; six brothers, John Thomeczek of Alexandria, NH., Joe Thomeczek of Liberty, In., Rick Thomeczek of St. Petersburg, Ohio, Bill Thomeczek of Seminole, Fla. Tom Thomeczek of Xenia, Ohio and Jim Thomeczek of Beaver Creek, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by a wife, Cynthia Thomeczek and parents, Eugene John and Armella Cecelia Quinter Thomeczek.

Roger K. Boles
Purchasing Agent with PSC Metals of Cookeville
Mr. Roger K. Boles, 59, passed away March 2 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held March 5 at the Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Holifield and Bro. Tim Sharp officiating. Interment followed at the Campground Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers included Larry, Tim, Kenny and Ernest Geesling, Rick, Mark and Tim Scott and Russell Dillon.
Mr. Boles was born April 7, 1945 in Hilham. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of NRA and an avid hunter.
Surviving relatives include his wife of over 30 years, Danielle Boles of Cookeville; son, Jason Boles of Cookeville; sister, Janice Scott of Cookeville; grandson, Bryce Boles and a devoted pet Sweet Pea.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Myrtle Geesling Boles and a sister, Barbara Sue Boles.

Billy Ross Crowley

Mr. Billy Ross Crowley, 51, passed away Feb. 25 at the Eastwood Nursing Home in Detroit, Mich. Graveside services were held March 3 at the Goodhope Cemetery with Deacon Bob Stewart officiating.
Mr. Crowley was born Jan. 28, 1954 in Detroit, Mich. and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving relatives include his ex-wife, Patricia Crowley-Emmett of Mich.; daughter, Meghan M. Crowley-Emmett of Mich.; a half brother, Earl Ray Stewart of Cookeville and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Maggie “Matthews” Crowley and a sister Dorthy Lucent.

Anna V. McCormick
Mrs. Anna V. McCormick, 85, passed away Feb. 21 in Medina, Ohio. Memorial services were held Feb. 26 at Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Randall Maynord officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Jack McCormick and John Douglas West.
Mrs. McCormick was born Jan. 31, 1920 in Accident, Maryland.
Surviving relatives include two sons, William Claudus, Jr. and wife Janice of Clinton, Ohio and Larry McCormick of Columbia, SC.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Alfreda Friend of Friendville, Maryland; one brother, Elmer Hanft of Accident, Maryland and sister-in-law, Clarice and husband John West of Rickman.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Claudus McCormick, Sr.

Martha Clark Vanhooser
Mrs. Martha Clark Vanhooser, 85, passed away March 3. Funeral services were held March 6 at the Alexander Funeral Home in Gallatin with Bro. Charles Williams officiating. Interment followed at the Crestview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers included Scott Ward, Mark Clark, Eddie Ray Tanksley, Michael Tanksley, Jack Spicer and Aaron Spicer.
Surviving relatives include three brothers, Buford and wife Reba Hall of Fresno, Calif., Bailey Ray and wife Deloras Clark of North Canton, Ohio and Joe David and wife Linda Clark of Lafayette; one sister, Minnie Frances and husband Presley Tanksley of Hartsville, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis K. and Beulah B. Mosley Clark; her husband, Clyde Vanhooser; two brothers, John Louis and Hardy Clark; two sisters, Morrell Clark and Mildred Allen.
