Alice Velma Huddleston, 95, passed away Aug. 25 at Masters Health Care Center. Services were held Aug. 27 at Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Bob Pharris officiating. Interment followed at Algood Cemetery.
Pallbearers included: Mark and Todd Randolph, Marty and Randy Masters, Kerry Pharris and Matt Newton.
Alice Velma Huddleston was born Oct. 25, 1910 in Overton County She was a resident of Algood. She was a member of Algood Presbyterian Church and was a retired sales clerk.
Surviving relatives include six nieces, Marilyn and husband Charles Masters, Carolyn and husband Bob Pharris, Sandra Freeman, Debbie Moss all of Cookeville, Thelma and husband Jim Woods of Cleveland, KY. and Janet Fleming; four nephews, John and wife Pat Randolph, Jerry Randolph, Bob and wife Dot Huddleston all of Cookeville, Jim and wife Kathy Randolph of Kansas City, MO and special friend, Jean Wilson.
She was preceded in death by parents, Johnnie Bransford and Mary Bell Phillips Fleming; husband, Willie Haskel Huddleston; sister, Chalus Randolph and two brothers, Howard and Herbert Fleming.

Sherry Mac Ledbetter, 38, passed away Aug. 25 at Cumberland River Hospital. Services were held Aug. 27 at Upton Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland officiating.

Sherry Mac Ledbetter was born Nov. 16, 1967 in Livingston. She was a resident of Celina and was affiliated with the Church of Christ. She was the owner of Sherry’s Restaurant.
Surviving relatives include son, Carl Ledbetter II of Celina; parents, Michael and Shirley McCormick of Celina; aunts and uncles, Douglas and Betty Butler and children of Clayton, IN., Elizabeth and Shelby Nolan and children of Livingston; aunt, Kay Gore and sons of Livingston; uncle, Gary McCormick of Livingston; cousins, Vicki, Ricky, Vanessa and Vonda and a host of special friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fannie and Edd Butler, Ed and Clura McCormick and uncle, James Butler.
George L. Gilpatrick

George L. Gilpatrick, 81, passed away Aug. 25 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Services were held Aug. 27 at Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Frank officiating. Interment followed at Overton County Memorial Gardens with full military services provided by James T. Davis and Memorial Post 5062 at the graveside.
Pallbearers included: Buddy Littrell, Sonny Gilpatrick, Wayne Gilpatrick, Larry Winningham, Mitch Daniels and Bruce Bryant.
George L. Gilpatrick was born Nov. 25, 1924 in Putnam County. He was a resident of Livingston and was self-employed as a paint and drywall contractor. He was a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ and also the American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Surviving relatives include wife, Pauline Gilpatrick of Livingston; sons, Michael and wife Pat Gilpatrick of Livingston and Steve Gilpatrick and wife Ann Arney of Livingston; daughters, Nancy Funnell of Springfield and Jeanene and husband Dan Buckley of Livingston; brother, Paul and wife Maxine Gilpatrick of Monterey; sisters, Mabel Littrell, Ruth and husband Alvin Milliken and Ruby Rundell all of Cookeville; seven grandchildren, Chree Chadwick, Lori Sage, Jennifer Bilbrey, Michelle Williams, Mitch Daniels, Wendy Gilpatrick and Marcy Randall and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Madison and Dora Lee Gore Gilpatrick; infant son, Jeffrey Madison Gilpatrick; grandson, Michael Seth Gilpatrick; sister, Elsie Walker and brother, Everett Gore.

Cora Faye Moss Buell was born May 28, 1965 in Lebanon. She was a resident of Livingston.
Surviving relatives include husband, Michael R. Buell of Livingston; sister, Vicky Coleman; two brothers, John Luna and Darrell Luna; two step-daughters, Jennifer Rose and Trincinda Buell and four step-grandchildren, Noha Rose, Nathan Rose, Miranda Cope and Trevor Cope.

Rose Joy Presley was born March 4, 1931 in Detroit, MI. She was a resident of Livingston. She was a cook for the Overton County Nursing Home.
Surviving relative include mother, Flossie Sipple of Independence, KY.; husband, Otis Presley of Livingston; sons, Dale Thorton of Florence, KY. and Doug and wife Diane Thornton of Livingston; daughters, Debbie and husband Dock Day of Augusta, KY. and Connie Thornton of Florence, KY. and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clair Sipple and two brothers.

Nadine Angeles Laurie, 35, passed away Aug. 26 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Services were held Aug. 30 at Cookeville Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Virgil Covel officiating. Interment followed at Heritage Cemetery.
Nadine Angeles Laurie was born Dec. 15, 1970 in Hammonton, NJ. She was a resident of Cookeville. She was a teacher at the Seventh-Day Adventist Christian Elementary School and was also a member.
Surviving relatives include husband, Randy Laurie of Cookeville; daughters, Jilian Lebron of Cookeville and step-daughter, Rachel Laurie of Cookeville; step-sons, Taylor and Ryan Laurie both of Cookeville and David Laurie who is serving in Iraq; parents, Nicolas and Nereda Santos Rodriguez of Cookeville and brother, Nicholas Rodriquez, III of NJ.

James Norman Strode, 87, passed away Aug. 25 at Evangelical House Nursing Home in Sterling Heights, MI. Services were held Aug. 28 at Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Perry Clayton officiating. Interment followed at Overton County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers included: Mark Staggs, Denton Hummel, Dylon Staggs, Daniel Staggs, Ronnie Melton and James Richardson.
James Norman Strode was born Sept. 7, 1918 in Overton County. He was a resident of Macomb, MI. He was a member of the Martins Chapel Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Surviving relatives include son, James A. and wife Linda Strode of Macomb, MI.; sister, Mae Widner of Akron, OH and two grandchildren, Tracy Strode of Macomb, MI. and Carrie Strode of Shelby, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ada Bilbrey Strode and wife, Vesta E. Sullivan Strode.
Bobby Don Dorminey

Bobby Dorminey passed away on Oct. 30, 2006 due to Leukemia and extended illness.
Preceded in death by his father Cecil Dorminey, brother Willis Dorminey and son Robert Donald Dorminey. He was born July 6, 1949 in Lakeland, GA to Cecil and Cleo Dorminey (Miley). Bobby served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam War. Prior to 1999 Bobby lived in Allons, and relocated to Orlando, Fl. in 2000.
He is survived by his mother, Cleo Miley and stepfather, Joe Miley; brother, David Dorminey of Allons and sisters, Rosetta Bailey of Rockledge, FL., Betty Burkhalter of Rockledge, FL., Myrt Brooks of Orlando, FL. and Linda Comblit of Plantation, FL. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews and a special friend, Carolyn Workman.

Dovie L. Mayer was born Sept. 13, 1918 in Merrimack, KY. She was a resident of Livingston and was a member of Allons Assembly of God.
Surviving relatives include husband, Rollie Mayer of Livingston; sons, Roger Mayer of Picacho, AZ., Dennis Wood of Livingston and Ronald Wood of Hamilton, OH.; daughter, Patty Jo Serda of Livingston; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, James A. and Maggie Gribbons Beard; brother, James Beard and sisters, Pauline Watkins and Jewel Beard.
