Nell S. Copeland, 65, passed away Nov. 29 at her home in Spencer. Services were held Dec. 3 at Livingston Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Watson officiating. Interment followed at Bethel Cemetery.
Pallbearers included: David and Dewayne Roach, Michael Wallace, Junior Conner, Donnie Stafford and David Collins.
Nell S. Copeland was born May 20, 1941 in Overton County. She was a affiliated with the Christ Bible Baptist Church in Celina and lived most of her life in Clay County.
Surviving relatives include daughters, Linda Dianne Day and fiancé Kenneth Simmons of Spencer, Donnita Lynn and husband Joey Wayne Dilldine of Livingston; sons, Roger Lee and wife Deborah Roach of Celina, Michael Eugene Wallace and fiancé Amy Goolsby of Celina; sister, Anna Lewis Ledbetter of Cookeville; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Payton and Katie Johnson Ferrell; husband, Jim Copeland; sisters, Bonnie Sue Hood and Linda Ruth Wallace and brother, Joe Donald Ferrell.
Gary Dale McBroom
Gary Dale McBroom, 54, passed away Jan. 20 at Smith County Memorial Hospital. Services were held Jan. 23 at Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Frank officiating. Interment followed at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers included: Larry McBroom, Jason Cox, Steven Collier, Jamie Young, Rick Herron, Fabien Eldridge and Jimmy and Johnny Madewell.
Gary Dale McBroom was born July 12, 1952 in Davidson County. He was a resident of Cookeville and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving relatives include mother, Emma Lou McBroom of Livingston; special friends, Mark and Shelia Hammock of Cookeville and sisters, Gail Faulkner, Tina Marie Cox and Martha Jane Bonita all of Rickman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Edward McBroom and brothers, Larry “Tex” and Carson Edward McBroom.

Valenor Norrod, 86, passed away Jan. 23 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Services were held Jan. 25 at Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Joe Hedgecough and Rev. Ronald Norrod officiating. Interment followed at Welch Memorial Cemetery.
Valenor Norrod was born Sept. 13, 1920 in Overton County. She was a resident of Monterey and was of the Baptist faith and a retired garment factory worker.
Surviving relatives include sister, Verdon Norrod of Monterey and brother, Odell Norrod of Monterey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Queen Bilbrey Noorod; sisters, Dora Philips and Erma Lee Phillips and five brothers, R.B., Cleo, Dophie, Othor and Cordell Norrod.

J.C. Roberts, 62, passed away Jan. 23 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Services were held Jan. 25 at Hall Funeral Home. Cremation was chosen at J. C. Roberts request.

Johnny H. Stafford, 85, passed away April 2 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted April 7 at the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fox officiating. Interment followed in the Cookeville City Cemetery.

Johnny H. Stafford was born Oct. 21, 1921 in Jackson County. He attended Sycamore Church of Christ.

Robert Glen Moody was born Dec. 23, 1944 in Overton County. He was a retired factory worker and carpenter.

Castle J. Winningham, 86, passed away April 5 at the Overton County Nursing Home. Funeral services were conducted April 7 at the Chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Nelson Cemetery.
Castle J. Winningham was born Sept. 15, 1920 in Overton County.
Surviving relatives include son, Howard and wife Judy Winningham of Monroe; grandson, Ronnie and wife Patsy of Jamestown; brother, Milford Winningham of Monroe and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lige and Belle Richardson Winningham.
Rev. Buford Owen Nivens
Buford Owen Nivens, 80, passed away March 31 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted April 6 from the First United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the Bethel Cemetery.
Pallbearers included: Richard Seth Cook, Ryan Nivens, Shaun Nivens, Jesse Nivens, Chad Nivens, Shane Nivens, Justin Nivens Jonathan Cartledge, Timothy York, Dylan Nivens and Ethan Nivens.
Buford Owen Nivens was born July 4, 1926 in Overton County. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII where is was among the first U.S. occupation forces to land in Hiroshima, graduated from Central Bible College in Springfield, MO, continued his education at Bryan College in Dayton and Tennessee Tech in Cookeville where he received an M.S. in Education Administration, he served as a teacher and school administrator as well as church builder and pastor in Ohio, Indiana, Missouri and Tennessee, and was recognized at the Tennessee District Council of the Assemblies of God with an outstanding faithfulness of ministry award.
Surviving relatives include wife, Ann Maxine Nivens of Allons; sons, Gene and wife Diana Nivens of Oak Ridge, Gary and wife Donna Nivens of Maui, HI and Jim and wife Rachel Nivens of Columbus, OH; daughters, Janie and husband Richard Cook of Modesto, CA, Jacquie and husband Don Cartledge of Santiago, Chili and Velvet and Ed York of McMinnville; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers, D. Gene and wife Cindy Nivens of Indianapolis, IN and Charles and wife Beverly Nivens of Cookeville; sisters, Pearl and husband Booze Mayberry of Indianapolis, IN, Gwen Carter of Franklin, IN, Kathleen Farmer of Whiteland, IN and Geri and husband Glenn Ruble of Indianapolis, IN.

Daniel Lee Canon was born Nov. 7, 1973 in Livingston. He was a construction worker.
Surviving relatives include mother, Vickie Booher Graham of Monroe; sisters, Amy and husband Johnny Delk of Albany, KY and Emily and husband Joseph King of Byrdstown; half sisters, Jennifer Glidewell and Amanda Thurman both of Albany, KY; half brothers, Roger, Ronnie, Darrell, Tracy, Bryant and Michael Thurman all of Albany, KY; grandmother, Mable Thurman of Albany, KY; nephews, Zach Delk and Noah King; nieces, Alice Delk and Chloe King and several aunts, uncles cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James “Hack” Thurman, grandparents, Frank Kyle and Maudean Booher, Imon Thurmon; cousin, Edna Marie Bond and uncle, Richard Beusing.
