Funeral Services for Robert Lee Reeder, 86, of Smithville, TN were held Saturday, January 3, 2004 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.
Bro. Michael Hale officiated and burial followed in Whorton Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Reeder died Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Baptist DeKalb Hospital of an extended illness. He was a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Samuel Clay and Ola Mae Judkins Reeder; brother,. Paul Reeder; two sisters: Dorothy Lynam and Nadell Layman and nephew, Jerry Reeder.
He is survived by sister-in-law, Mildred Reeder of Smithville; seven nieces: Peggy George and Doris Henry both of Smithville; Lois Russell of Grante Falls, NC; Sarah Carew of Cookeville; Kathy Reeder Dyer of Nashville; Violet Turner and Helen Markum both of McMinnville; four nephews: Tommy Reeder and Valter Vandergriff both of Smithville; Don Kirby of Murfreesboro and David Kirby of McMinnville.
Serving as pallbearers were Hank George, Tony Martin, Thomas Beckham, Jason George, Tommy Reeder, and Ronnie Evans.
Honorary pallbearers were Josh Beckham, Duane Russell, Raymond Dyer, Jerry Henry and Valter Vandergriff.

Bauswell
Funeral Services for Dewey Bauswell, 53, of Smithville, TN were held Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.
Bro. Donnie Kelly officiated and burial followed in Banks Cemetery.
Mr. Bauswell died Monday, December 22, 2003 at his residence.
He was a physicians assistant, a member of the Church of God and the National History Association.
He is survived by daughter, Laura Hershman; parents: Admiral and Vergie Bauswell; three grandchildren: Kayla, Savanna and Ashley; aunt, Pauline Fish; cousins: Janice Stewart, Tana Redmon and Danny Fish all of Smithville.
Serving as pallbearers were Danny and Danny Fish, Jr., Bryan and Joseph Clark, David Stewart, Dan Sarder, Jeff Herschman and Jerry Redmon.

Atnip
Funeral Services for T.C. Atnip, 78, of Smithville, TN were held Sunday, January 4, 2004 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.
Bro. Don Davidson officiated and burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Atnip died Friday, January 2, 2004 at Alvin C. York VA Hospital in Murfreesboro of an extended illness. He was retired from Carriers and was a longtime car salesman for Edd Rogers. He was a member of Smithville First Baptist Church, a former Smithville Alderman and U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lonnie and Eliza Lee Foutch Atnip.
He is survived by wife of 56 years, Virginia Atnip of Smithville; three daughters: Maxine (Kenneth) Pritchett of Texas; Wanda Parker of Smithville and Debbie (Robert) Driver of McMinnville; one son, Phillip Atnip of Smithville; five grandchildren: Rhonda and David Pritchett, Layra Crook, Ashley and Lindsey Driver; two great-grandchildren: Ryan Pritchett and Lauren Edwards; one sister, Mary Ann Yarman of Cookeville; one brother, Boyd (Emmogene) Atnip of Smithville; special sister-in-law, Ruby Johnson of Smithville; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were David H. Redmon, Mike Turner, Sterling Harrell, Shawn Jacobs, Glyn Gill and Ronnie Hawkins.
Honorary pallbearers were Brisco Robinson, Edd Rogers, Jimmy Doris Vickers, Vernon Hyde, Larry Redmon and Paul Cantrell.

Graveside services for Dorothy Dean Murphy, 86, of Smithville, TN were held Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Whorton Springs Cemetery. Bro. Mark Paffard officiated.
Mrs. Murphy passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at Baptist DeKalb Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband, Homer Murphy; parents, Bill & Ida Fitts McBride; daughter, Gloria Cooper and son, Billy Frank Murphy.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda McCool of Michigan, Kim Peterson of McMinnville and Tracy Murphy of Virginia; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Walter Michael “Mike” Shelton, 49, of Gordonsville, TN were held Friday, December 26, 2003 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Rev. Mark Street officiated.
Mr. Shelton died Monday, December 22, 2003 at Baptist DeKalb Hospital. He was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Ora Bramlett Shelton and brother, Eugene Shelton.
He is survived by his daughter, Dana Shelton; granddaughter, Allison Hancock and special companion, Debbie Jones all of Gordonsville; five sisters: Louise Clark of Benton; Audria (Jack) Hale and Elizabeth Frazier both of Alexandria; Nina Chapman of Smithville and Angela (Terry) Clabough of Cleveland; four brothers: Hubble and Jeff Shelton both of Smithville; Eulain (Poley) Shelton of Dowelltown and Curtis (Pam) Shelton of Temperance Hall; sister-in-law, Kathryn Shelton of Etowah and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Ruth Daniels, 77, of Alexandria, TN were held Sunday, December 21, 2003 at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria.
Bro. Chris Long and Bro. Wilson Williams officiated and burial followed in Hillview Memorial Cemetery in Alexandria.
Mrs. Daniels died Friday, December 19, 2003 at Cedars Health Care Center in Lebanon.
She lived in Ohio up till 1968 moving back to DeKalb County.
She worked with Stephens Manufacturing Company in Watertown and was a transport driver for the Human Services.
She attended the New Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Haskell H. and Gladys Lee Maxwell Montgomery and her husband, A.D. Daniels.
She is survived by four brothers: Ralph Montgomery of Alexandria; Jerry and Carl Montgomery both of Dowelltown and Larry Montgomery of Liberty; two sisters: Ruby Mantick of Pittsburgh, PA and Mary Cook of Liberty.

Mrs. Emberton died January 1, 2004 at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Short Mt. Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James Madison and Will Ellen Warren Redmon; husband, Harvey Emberton and daughter, Betty Jo Williams; sister, Cilla Mae Redmon and brother, Charlie Redmon.
She is survived by three daughters: Edna Locke Hooper and Nancy Harris both of Smithville and Tanya Emberton Rollins of McMinnville; two sons: James Emberton of Smithville and Ronnie Emberton of Mcminnville; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Louise Braswell and Frances Hendrixson and brother, R.L. Redmon all of Smithville.
Serving as pallbearers were Brandon, Bradley and Nicholas Locke, Nathan Harris, Brian Jones, Josh, Brian and Joseph Emberton and Tony Lawrence.
