MASENGILL, EVANS LEE, 88, of Pennington Rd., Bulls Gap, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, in Takoma Hospital in Greeneville. He was a World War II veteran. He was a member of The American Legion Post #3 in Kingsport, and a retired member of International Brotherhood Electrical Workers Union in Kingsport. Survivors include a sister, Mary Johnson of Lexington, TN.; two nieces, Carol Ann Burnham of California and Jill Masengill of Florida; three nephews, David E. Johnson of Decaturville, TN., Eric Masengill of Murfreesboro, TN., and Thomas Masengill of Florida. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. George Miller will officiate. SIZEMORE, ELIZABETH LEANNE ROSE, 3 month old daughter of Tracy and Jimmy Sizemore of Rogersville, went to live with Jesus on Dec. 6, 1998, in Johnson City Medical Center. She is survived by brothers, Trevor Heck and Jesse Sizemore; maternal grandparents, Rocky and Becky Johnson of Whitesburg and Tommy Dalton of Whitesburg; paternal grandparents, Earl and Ruby Sizemore of Rogersville, Robenia Lawson of Rogersville; special grandparents, Ronnie and Nancy Hatley of Morristown; great grandparents, Edd and Ruth Walker of Bulls Gap; special aunt, Heather Nicole Hatley of Whitesburg; and several other aunts, uncles and cousins. PIERCE, GASTON W., 83, 4210 Highway 321, Butler, died Monday, December 7, 1998 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Elizabethton after an extended illness. He was a native of Carter County. Mr. Pierce was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation. He was also a farmer and gardener. He was a member of the Little Milligan Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruella White Pierce; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Bill Williams, Morristown, and Carolyn Sue and Bill Finney, Butler; one sister, Jean Perry, Butler; two brothers, Ray Pierce and W.C. Pierce Jr., both of Butler; five grandchildren, Jerome Finney, Jeffrey Finney, Tim Williams, Mary Beth Burns and Susan Mills; eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Nick Bradshaw and Rev. Harold McNabb officiating Graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Butler Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. SMITH, BILLIE, of Morristown, husband of Huberta Gillette Smith, passed away Thursday morning, December 10, 1998. He was born September 10, 1925 and married on May 8, 1948. Billie retired from BASF. He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmidge and Sarah Smith of Cocke County and two brothers, Winton and Wayne Smith.
