HAZELWOOD, CARRIE RICH, age 61, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, December 11, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Bertha Long Hazelwood and sister, Katherine Helton. Survivors include her sisters, Fannie Ruth Cox of Bean Station and Ruby Collins of Morristown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Evelyn Hazelwood, Oscar and Jewel Hazelwood, of Bean Station, Billy Hazelwood of Knoxville, James Hazelwood of Bean Station and George Hazelwood of Morristown; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, 2:00 p.m. at the Bean Station Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Clifford Dalton officiating. The body will lie in state one hour before services. MAY, ALBERT JOE, age 69, of Talbott, and a native of Jefferson County, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was a retired surveyor with New Jersey Zinc Co., and a farmer. He was a member of Alpha Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. and Minnie Killion May. Survivors include his wife, Diris Quarles May; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Gail May of Talbott; daughter and son-in-law, Aldris and John H. Kerr of Maryville; grandchildren, Justin and Shelby May, Riley, Jordan and Ryan Kerr; brothers, William Roy May of Jefferson City, and James L. May of Talbott; sisters, Edna Martin of White Pine, Bernice May and Alta Ruth Whitaker of Jefferson City; several nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday 8 p.m. at Alpha Baptist Church with Rev. J.W. Rayburn officiating. Graveside services will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev. BARNARD, JAMES E., age 91, of Sneedville passed away Saturday, December 12, 1998 at the Claiborne County Hospital. He was a member of Ida’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Winkler Barnard; son, James E. Barnard, Jr.; parents, Asa and Sarah Barnard; sisters, Lona Dodson, Mae Seal and brother, Vaulty Barnard. MISENHEIMER, MR. JESSE DALTON, 81, Greensboro, N.C., died Thursday, December 10, 1998 at his residence. Mr. Misenheimer was born November 21, 1917 in Guilford County, a son to Charles A. and Minnie L. Clark Misenheimer. He was former owner of M and M Saws in Morristown, Tenn. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. On November 5, 1938, he married the former Ruth Hill who survives of the home. Mr. Misenheimer was an exceptionally loving, considerate, and generous man who was devoted to his family. Mr. Misenheimer was preceded in death by a daughter Carol Ann Misenheimer, and two sons Gary Wayne Misenheimer and Charles Ray Misenheimer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Ronda Phillips and her husband Gayle of Greensboro; a daughter-in-law Judy Misenheimer of Morristown Tenn.; grandchildren Sharon Phillips of Greensboro, Darryl Misenheimer and his wife Kristi of Morristown, Tenn., and Kevin Misenheimer and his wife Julianne of Morristown, Tenn.; a great-granddaughter Madison Misenheimer; two sisters, Dorothy Misenheimer of High Point and Doris Staley of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews. Upon Mr. Misenheimer’s requests there will be no formal funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice. Cumby Mortuary in High Point, N.C. is serving the Misenheimer family.
PARKER, REV. JACKSON CALVIN, age 65, of Newport died Friday at the Baptist Hospital of Knoxville after a short illness. He was the former pastor of the Forest Hill Baptist Church in Parrottsville, and Pigeon Valley Baptist Church in Hartford and several other churches in the area. He also served as director of missions and minister of music for the East Tennessee Baptist Association for several years, was pastor of the Telford Baptist Church in Telford TN., pastor of the Concord Baptist Church in Mosheim, minister of education at the Clark St. Baptist Church in Johnson City, TN., president of the Newport Lion’s Club and served as chairperson of Newport F.E.M.A. Board of Cocke County and numerous other committees. He is survived by his wife: Sally Ann Bell Parker; one sister, Ann Kitchens of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Neal Gordon Parker of Daphne, AL., and Paul Wayne Parker of Hixon, TN. Funeral service will be held Sunday 2:00 p.m. at the Manes Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Family received friends 7-9 Saturday at the funeral home.
