JOHNSON, KYLE, age 95, of Bybee, passed away November 25, 1998 at Jefferson City Rehabilitation Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Mayes Mortuary.

ARNOLD, RICHARD “DICKIE,” age 27, of Washburn, TN., was born May 22, 1971, passed away on Nov. 15, 1998 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Thorn Hill. Survived by: father and mother, Gordon Jr., and Helen Arnold of Washburn, TN.; son, Donovan Arnold of Morristown, TN.; sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Buck Harville of Washburn, TN.; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Cindy Arnold of Thorn Hill, TN.; brother, Gordon Arnold III of Washburn, TN.; nieces, Kyc Arnold of Bean Station, Brittney Harville of Washburn; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998 at Clinch Valley American Christian Church. Rev. Darrell Hensley and Rev. Danny Breeding officiating. Singers will be the Church Singers. Interment in Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Clinch Valley, American Christian Church, Thorn Hill. Tuesday night. Pallbearers: Aaron Marsh, Roy Marsh, Roger Victorey, Delbert Dalton, Scotty Stratton, Jason McGinnis. Coffey Funeral Home in charge.

ROSENBALM, MR. ROBERT FRANKLIN (STONEY), age 57, born on February 17, 1941, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 15, 1998, while at home after battling with cancer. He was a member of the Sugar Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Rosenbalm; infant sister, Marie Rosenbalm. He is survived by his: mother, Okie Mae Rosenbalm of New Tazewell; wife, Lucille Rosenbalm of New Tazewell; son. PV2 William Rosenbalm of Ft. Knox, Ky.; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and George Marecic of Sneedville, TN., Sue and Jeff Smith of Lincolnton, N.C., Judy and Scott Littrell of Morristown, TN., Joy “Bam” Rosenbalm and Tony Carpenter of Morristown, TN., Sharon Rosenbalm of Morristown, TN.; step-daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Willard Ayers of New Tazewell; seven granddaughters; five grandsons; one great-grandson; brothers, Bill Rosenbalm of New Tazewell, David and Christine Rosenbalm of New Tazewell; sisters, Louise and Michael Coffey of Morristown, TN., Connie and Robert Heatherly of Tazewell, Rita and Roger Cochran of Tazewell; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 1998 at the Claiborne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 1998 at the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd England, Rev. Greg Sharp and Rev. Jimmy Brock officiating. Music by The Leatherwood Singers and Roger Sandifer. Pallbearers: Michael Marecic, Derek Rosenbalm, Dean Spradling, Eugene Spradling, Robert Trachsel, Rodney Cochran, Danny Ward. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery. Claiborne Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

HINKLE, SUMMER L., age 22, of Newport, passed away Monday, November 16, 1998, due to injuries received in an automobile accident. Funeral arrangements to be announced later by Westside Chapel Funeral Home.

HORNER, SARAH TATE, age 76, of Jefferson City, passed away at 11:57 a.m. Sunday morning, November 15, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City following a lingering illness. Mrs. Horner was a member of the Oakland Baptist Church in Rutledge and was preceded in death by her husband, H.K. Horner; sister, Goldie Clevenger; and parents, Dave and Mae Davis Tate. Survivors include her sisters, Margaret Turley of Rutledge, Kathleen Farrar of Rutledge, Wanda Kinkead of Rutledge, and Doris Watson of Rutledge; brother, David E. “Popeye” Tate Jr., of Rutledge; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, November 17, 1998, from the Farrar Funeral Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend Ron Stansell officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, November 18, 1998, at Farrar Funeral Home and proceed to Westview Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening prior to services at Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W. BLACK, KATHY ANN, age 47, of Morristown, passed away November 16, 1998 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. Preceded in death by her father, Jimmy E. Black. Survivors: mother, Kate Black; aunts, Barbara Marinaro of Elcorn City, Ky., Evelyn Russell of Phoenix, AZ., June Anderson of Morristown; great-aunt, Ruth Lawson of Morristown; several cousins. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jarnagin Cemetery with Rev. Larry K. Best officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mayes Mortuary. COLLINS, ALLIE HENRIETTA, age 64, of Russellville, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 1998. She was retired from BASF and attended Highland Baptist Church. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Lowell Purkey of Sneedville; sons, Lonnie and Ricky Collins of Russellville; grandchildren, Jamie and Jeremy Collins of Morristown, Brian Trent of Sneedville; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Henderson Shiflet of Russellville; special cousin, Betty Estes. Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Stubblefield Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Bunch officiating. Interment in Catherine Nenney Cemetery. LONG, RUBY, 93, passed away Monday, November 16 at Heritage Center in Morristown. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Morristown and the Kathleen Manley Mission group. She had been a faithful worker for many years for the late Senator Herbert Walters and was a charter member of the Morristown Pilot Club. Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Joseph T and Lou Underwood Long; sister, Willie Boatman; brothers, Guy Long and James Long; by her sister-in-law, Alma Long. She is survived by nieces, Mrs. Eugene (Mary Lou) Mead, Morristown, Mrs. Tommie Lyda, Asheville, N.C., Mrs. Deanna Bennett, Sparta, N.J.; nephews, Mr. David Long, Morristown, Mr. Robert Harold Boatman, Nation City, California; several cousins; grand-nieces and nephews. GREENLEE, BETTYE JEAN, born October 1, 1945, passed away Monday afternoon, November 16, 1998, at her residence. She was a native of Hamblen County. Mrs. Greenlee was a devoted mother to her children, Tammy, Claudette Short, Melissa Ann (Missy) Carter and husband, Chuck Carter, J. Harold Greenlee Jr., and Elizabeth Jane Greenlee; grandchildren, Bogi Greenlee, Rachel Carter, Jordan Ingram, and Ethan Carter. Former wife of J. Harold Greenlee, Sr., and Claude Short; Parents, Lonnie (Bus) and Eula Mae Jefferson; brother, Jimmy Jefferson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherley and Murl Wilmeth, Jane and Joe Webb, Joyce and Donald (Pee Wee) Rickard; special friend, Lou Long, all of Morristown; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, 3:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. Murrell Isom and Rev. Jay Brady officiating. Interment to follow in the Hamblen Memory Gardens. FREE, HARRY DEAN, 52, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 1998 at his home. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was an employee of Berkline Corp. Preceded in death by son, Harold Free; parents, Emma Lee and Nicholas Free; sister, Mary Lois Moore and brother, Freddie Free. Survived by wife of 35 years, Peggy Free of Jefferson City; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Donnie Williamson of New Market; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Luci Free of Jefferson City, Tony and Kim Free of New Market; granddaughter, Megan Williamson; grandson, Zane Free; sister, Joyce Maples; brothers, Gene and James Free, all of Jefferson City. HICKEY, WALTER NEIL “TOBE,” age 78, of White Pine, passed away suddenly Monday morning, November 16, 1998 at his home. He was a member of the White Pine Church of God and was a retired truck driver and supervisor for Roy Widner Truck Lines after 15 years of service and had also worked for Gluck Bros. Trucking Co. and American Enka. Preceded in death by wife, Geraldine Ovella Hazelwood Hickey. Survivors: son, Roger Hickey of White Pine; sister-in-law, Lillian Moore; niece, Geraldine Moore and nephew, Ronnie Moore, all of Morristown; cousin, Doyle Fox and special friend, Bessie Lee Brady. Funeral services, 3:30 p.m. Thursday Nov. 19, 1998, at the White Pine Church of God with Pastors, Billy Dale Shelton, Jon Sims, Noah Allen and Richard Crayne officiating. Interment to follow with graveside military honors by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard at White Pine Cemetery. Family will receive friends, Wednesday evening 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, White Pine. Farrar Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

LANE, EARNEST, JR., age 72, of Morristown, departed this world on Sunday, November 15, 1998, at Morristown-Hamblen Health Care System after a brief illness. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. J.B. Gulley officiating. Interment to follow in the Hamblen Memory Gardens. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
