BURCHELL, JUANITA I., age 80, of Morristown, passed away Saturday morning at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. Graveside service will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at Kidwells Ridge Cemetery. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge.

HENDRIX, EDITH M., age 86, of Jefferson City, passed away 7:47 a.m. Monday, November 2, 1998 surrounded by her family, at Life Care Center of Jefferson City,. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy S. Hendrix. She is survived by daughter, Dorothy L. Crawford of Pennsylvania; son, Vance L. Hendrix, Jefferson City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys M. Baldwin an Lola M. Nichols of Knoxville. Graveside services 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Dr. R.R. Turner officiating. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City to the department of your choice. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W. Broadway Blvd., Jefferson City, Tennessee 37760. REDL, RUDOLPH, age 52, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, November 1, 1998, at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. before the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Redl Fund at Manley Baptist Church. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

REECE, MARGARET ANN, age 50, of 708 Highland Drive, Morristown, passed away November 2, 1998 at her residence. She was of the Baptist faith. She was former partner and owner of Ervin’s Restaurant in White Pine. Preceded in death by daughter, Stephanie Harris; parents, Adam and Daisy Myers; and brother, Glen Myers. Survivors: husband, Carl Reece; son, Ronnie Lynn Hayes; sister, Mrs. George (Dorothy) McKinney; brother, Ernest (Dorothy) Myers; nieces, Doris Jean McKinney and Debra White; several nephews; special friend, Kim Weaver, all of Morristown; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (Kay) Hill of White Pine. Services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mayes Mortuary with Revs. Byron Chambers and Paul Lamb officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

GRAY, DENTA B., age 83, of Laughlin Health Care Center, formerly of the Union Chapel Community, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 1, 1998 at Laughlin Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur K. Gray. She was a homemaker and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Morristown. Survivors: two daughters and sons-in-law, Eleanor and John Robert Gouge of Rogersville, TN., Judy and Richard Poinsett of Afton, TN.; son and daughter-in-law, John and Deane Gray of Greeneville; five grandchildren, Beth Von Hagen, Hillsborough, N.C., Rick Poinsett of Atlanta, Ga., Will Gray, Philip Gray, Katherine Gray, all of Greeneville; great-grandson, Erich Gray Von Hagen of Hillsborough, N. Carolina. Graveside service, Saturday 2:00 p.m. at Union Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Gordon Miller officiating. The body is at Kiser Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Family and friends are ask to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Kiser Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

ARTINO, TERRY ANN, 50, 157 Black Sheep Hollow Road, Sneedville, Tennessee, died at home on Thursday, October 29, after a long fight against cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Ben Artino, and her mother, Theresa Loparo Artino. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Howard; by her many aunts, uncles, and cousins with whom she remained in close contact; and by numerous friends throughout the country. She attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Ohio; Ohio Dominican College in Columbus, Ohio; and received her Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee. She was a teacher at Clinch School in Hawkins County, where most recently she had taught third grade. A memorial service will be held at Shiloh Methodist Church in Eidson, on Thursday, November 5, at 7 p.m. Danny would like to extend a special thanks to the employees of Housecall Hospice of Morristown, who helped to make Terry’s final days a blessing, and encourages a donation to a local hospice in lieu of flowers. Compliments of Colboch-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville.

Preceded in death by her parents J.W. and Odiea Smith Broyles and her husband in 1993 Luther Burchell along with two sisters and three brothers. She was a member of Kidwells Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors: sisters, Sue King, Faye and husband J.W. Hurst and Alfrida Inman; several nieces and nephews and a special nephew Ronnie Broyles. Funeral services will be Monday 8 p.m. at Westside Chapel. Revs. Harold Noe, Charles Smith and Robert Norton officiating. Family will receive friends 6 p.m. until time of services at 8 p.m. Graveside service will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at Kidwells Ridge Cemetery. Westside Chapel Funeral Home Morristown in charge.

BOLDEN, JIMMY CURTIS, age 38, of Morristown, formerly of Tazewell was born Nov. 5, 1960, passed away on Oct. 29, 1998 as a result of a logging accident. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Yellow Springs Baptist Church. He loved and worked in the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father James Bolden, mother, Wilma Lee Holt Bolden; son, James Andrew Bolden; sisters, Debra and Pamela Bolden; grandparents, Shade & Orpha Holt, Carson and Lucy Bolden. Survived by: daughter, Ruth Ann Bolden of New Tazewell; sons, Jimmy Curtis Bolden Jr. of Morristown, William Kyle Bolden of Rogersville; fiancee, Debra Williams of Morristown; sisters, Judy Hurst of Tazewell, Betty Price, Lois McCoy, Lucy Seal, all of Sneedville, Sandy Worley of Tazewell, Patsy Seal of Sneedville; brothers, Harold Bolden and George “Joe” Bolden of Tazewell, Carson Bolden of Sneedville, Randy Bolden of Dalton, Ga., Scott Bolden of Sneedville; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. COX, M. WALTER, age 66, of Strawberry Plains, died at 1:37 p.m. Friday afternoon, October 30, 1998, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Zola Burchfield Cox. Mr. Cox was a graduate of Carson-Newman College and received his masters degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War and was a long-time employee of the Knox County School System and Ford Motor Company in Atlanta. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David and Sheala Cox of Woodstock, Georgia; son, Timothy A. Cox of Pigeon Forge; grandchildren, Jenna Cox of Marietta, Georgia, Joey Cox of Rome, Georgia, and Tiffany Cox of Rome, Georgia; sister, Katherine Meredith of Powell; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening, November 1, 1998, from the Farrar Funeral Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend Lester Byrd officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard at 11:00 a.m. Monday morning, November 2, 1998, in the Trentville Cemetery in Strawberry Plains. HAYES, JOSEPHINE M., age 72, of Morristown, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 1998 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. She was a member of Phillipi Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Charlie Hayes, daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Albert Bryant of Mohawk. Sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary Lou Hayes, Bobby Hayes and Charles Bruce Hayes; special nephew, Alfred Matthews, of Morristown. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, 8 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. Ross Woody officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, 11 a.m. in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Greene County. PATTERSON, CLYDE DENNIS “BIG D,” age 57, of 965 W. Highway 25-70, Dandridge, passed away suddenly at 11:24 a.m. Friday morning, October 30, 1998, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Gladys Brooks Patterson; daughter, Sandra Lee Patterson; brothers, James Patterson and Johnny Ralph Patterson; sister, Ann Potter. Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Donald L. (Charlene) Barnes Jr., of Cleveland, Ohio; grandsons, Johnathan, Justin, and Joshua all of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Ronnie Patterson of Jefferson City; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 1998, from the Farrar Funeral Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend D.H. Swafford and Reverend Jerry Colbert officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Monday morning, November 2, 1998, in the Surgoinsville United Methodist Church Cemetery in Surgoinsville, Tennessee for an 11:00 a.m., Graveside Interment Service. STOKELY, MAIE ROBERTS, age 78 of Knoxville and formerly of Del Rio, TN., passed away 7:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 1998 at Park West Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Preceded in death by husband, Frank W. Stokely. Survived by daughter, Gayle Stokely Dawson, Knoxville; granddaughter, Kimberly Sowinski, Atlanta, Ga., great-grandson, Stephen Sowinski, Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Joe and John Roberts, Morristown; sisters, Ruth Mayes, Morristown and Kate Atchison, Bethesda, Maryland. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 1998 from the Farrar Funeral Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend Jerry Colbert officiating. Interment service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Union Cemetery, Newport. The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral service.
