THOMPSON, ELIZABETH PHILLIPS, age 82, of Morristown, passed away October 29, 1998 at East TN. Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Buffalo Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Thompson; parents, Arthur and Ruth Phillips; sisters, Mildred Denton and Ruth Gann; and brother, Joe Phillips. Survivors: son, Donnie Thompson of Morristown; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Buffalo Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Pinkston officiating. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Mayes Mortuary. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

TRENT, QUINNIE, age 96 of Bean Station passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998. She was a member of Barnards Grove Baptist Church. Survivors: her son, Kyle (Barney) Trent and his wife Thelma of Chattanooga; three granddaughters, Linda Gay, Brenda Owens, Nancy Glen; six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sisters, Mattie Lampkin of Knoxville, Sallie Isenberg of Bean Station. Family and friends will meet 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamblen Memory Gardens for interment with Rev. Dwight Wolfe officiating. Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown.

COLLINS, ELIZABETH FRANCES, age 88, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, October 8, 1998, at Heritage Nursing Center. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister and a member of Kidwell Ridge Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. Harold Noe and Rev. Clifford Haynes officiating. Interment followed in the Sunderland Cemetery. The family received friends Friday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

HEDRICK, MARIE, 88, of Morristown, passed away Friday, October 9, 1998, at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Hedrick. Survivors include her daughters, Betty Shuck and husband Merlin, Charlene Slabbekorn, Lois Hedrick, all of Morristown, and Judy Westenhaver and husband Ken of Knoxville; grandchildren Rose Holt Reneau and husband Larry, Marcia Slabbekorn, Michael Hedrick and wife Judy, Anita Estes Bowling, Mike, Diana, and Marilyn Shuck; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Michael Paul Hedrick and Jacob Bowling; niece Naveda Deering. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Hamblen Memory Gardens with Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Friends may call at the home of Betty Shuck, 1462 Whiteside Dr. in Morristown, at their convenience. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Baptist Church Building Fund. Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, WARD (SARGE), age 71, of 131 Thorpes Chapel Road, Rogersville, passed away Thursday, October 8, 1998, at his home after an extended battle with cancer. He was born on May 6, 1927, the son of Rudy E. and Othney Troyer Miller of Berlin, Ohio. He moved to Rogersville in 1970. He retired from the U.S.A.F. after 21 years of active service in 1970. He retired from the U.S.A.F. after 21 years of active service in 1970. He retired from BASF in Lowland in 1992. He was a member of Berlin First Baptist Church, but attended Persia Baptist Church in Rogersville. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Owen Miller and a grandson, Derek Miller of Rogersville. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Anne Williamson Miller of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law Bob and Denise Miller of Morristown and Rudy and Becky Miller of Mosheim; four grandchildren, Kelly Tackett of Rogersville, Robbie, Kacey and Kerry Miller of Mosheim; one step-grandchild, Amy Green of Surgoinsville; one great-grandchild, Sierra Anne Tackett of Rogersville; one step great-grandchild Chelsea Perrigan of Surgoinsville; one brother and sister-in-law, Weldon and Hazel Miller of Berlin, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and one special niece, Sabria Collins of Nickelsville, Virginia and a host of friends who loved him dearly. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 1998, at Colboch-Price Chapel with Rev. Bobby Tucker, Rev. Ronald McGee and Rev. Fred Dimond officiating. Ft. Campbell Funeral Detail will conduct military graveside services, following the funeral service, at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 1998, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville. Colboch-Price Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

MULLENS, ROBERT D., 71, of Morristown, passed away Friday, October 9, 1998, at his home. He was preceded in death by his father, Lindsay Mullens. Mr. Mullens was a partner in the family business, Adept Printing Co. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving with the SeaBees. He was of the Protestant faith. Survivors include his wife, Helen Mullens; mother, Mary Frances Coates, both of Morristown; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sharon Mullens; daughters, Mary Katherine Davidson of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Greta Jo Mullens of Tallahassee, Fla.; step-son, George Johnson of Indiana; step-daughters, Sharon Johnson of Virginia, and Cindy Sojka of Jupiter, Fla.; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, with Robert Eberhardt officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by VFW Post 5266 will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Thompson Cancer Survival Center in Knoxville. Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ORR, LINDA FAYE, age 43, of Morristown, passed away Monday, October 5, 1998 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare Center. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her father, William Orr. Survivors include: mother, Mildred Orr; brother, Raymond Orr; grandmother, Bertha West; special friends, Jackie Hughes and Norma Morgan; special sister-in-law, Linda K. Orr; special aunt, Cleo Friddle, all of Morristown; special aunt, Hazel Logan of New Tazewell, TN. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 1998 at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Danny Georges officiating. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday evening at the mortuary. Mayes Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

STAPLETON, DANA CAMPBELL, age 79, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday evening, October 5, 1998 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. He was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the Cherokee Construction Company. He was the husband of the late Julia Talley Stapleton. He leaves behind five children, Bennie Omega Stapleton Atkins of Jefferson City, Mary F. Courtney and Dewey of Rogersville, E. David Stapleton and Janice of Knoxville, Larry N. Stapleton of Port Richie, Florida, and James Phillip Stapleton and Mary Alice of Jefferson City; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Luke, Kyle, and James Stapleton; three sisters, Emma Templin, Dorothy Walker, and Chelsey Lyle; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening, October 8, 1998, from the Farrar Funeral Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend Bob Griffin officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning, October 9, 1998, in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening prior to services at Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W. Broadway Blvd., Jefferson City, TN. 37760. Phone 423-475-3892. PEARSON, IDOOMA ELIZABETH HELTON, age 83, of 5666 Meyers Road, Russellville, TN., passed away Tuesday, October 6, 1998, at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Pearson in 1984. She is survived by three daughters, Margie Lawson of Russellville, Shirley Bloomer of Treadway and Maxine Trent of Rogersville; two sons, Louie Pearson of Treadway and Willard Pearson of Rogersville; one sister, Gladys Price of Surgoinsville; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Colboch-Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 1998, at Colboch-Price Chapel with Rev. LINDSEY, MR. CARL, age 84, of Dandridge, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1998 at Jefferson Co. Nursing Home following an extended illness. He was a member of Brazelton Lodge No. 190 F&AM; veteran of World War II and U.S. Army; attended Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a retired supervisor for Wardrup Packing House of Kentucky and was a former employee of Jefferson Farmers Coop. He was the son of the late Horace and Rebecca Mullins Lindsey; preceded in death by wife, Helen Juanita Henderson Lindsey and children, Thomas Milburn Lindsey, James Robert Lindsey, Linda Diane Lindsey and Jack Lindsey. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Christy Woods Lindsey of Dandridge; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bill Campbell of Hallie, Ky.; grandchildren, Joe Lindsey, Ashli Lewis, Sara Campbell, Garrett Lindsey, and Caleb Lindsey; great-granddaughter, Lindsey Lewis; daughter-in-law, Larita Lindsey of New Market; sister-in-law, Mary Nell Rector and husband, Tommy Rector; brother-in-law, Vern Henderson and wife, Joan; and brother-in-law, Bobby Henderson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services, Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, 1:00 p.m. at Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Lynch officiating. Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. AILEY, EDITH, age 73, of Knob Hill Apts., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998 at her residence. She is preceded in death by her husband, I.C. Ailey; parents, James and Myrtle Barnes of White Pine; and brother, Raymond Ailey; and grandson, Terry Ailey of Fla. She attended Light House Baptist Church. She was a foster grandparent for Lincoln Learning Center. Survivors: sons, Billy Ray Ailey and wife, Joann, Paul Ailey and wife, Shelia, both of Morristown, James F. Ailey and wife, Barbara of Fla.; one sister, Norma Jean Sinard of White Pine; two brothers, James Barnes, Morristown, Everett Barnes, Biloxi, Miss.; five grandchildren, Billy and Chris, Tony Lindsey, Jepp Ailey; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Thursday 8:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel. Rev. Ronnie Hayes officiating. Graveside service Friday 10 a.m. at Hamblen Memory Gardens. HINKLE, SUMMER LEIGH, age 22, of Morristown, passed away Monday, November 16, 1998, from injuries due to an automobile accident. She was a member of Mt. Vale Church of God. Funeral services will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. at the Inez Church of God, Inez, Ky., with Rev. Tony Collins and Rev. Lewis Ray Porter officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday and Thursday at the Inez Church of God. Interment to follow in the Muncy Cemetery. Westside Chapel Funeral Home, Morristown, TN., in charge of arrangements.
