MURDOCK, MASTER SGT. FRED B., age 54, of Whitesburg, passed away Monday, May 31, 1999. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam, a Mason and had been employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Knoxville. Survivors, wife, Myra; children and their spouses, Richard and Crystal Murdock, Evelyn and Rick Stroud, Julie and James Jones of Morristown, Michelle Murdock of Sevierville, Michael Murdock of Morristown; grand-children, Ricky, Rusty, Jessica, Chelsea, Kellie, Breanna, Shelby Lynn; sister, Geneice Shipp of Greeneville; special friends, Shirley, Karen and Roger Woody, Mary, Jeff and Coy Bunch. Funeral services 2 p.m. Thursday at Stubblefield Funeral Home with Masonic services by Masonic Lodge No. 422. Interment in Hamblen Memory Gardens with military honors by Ft. Campbell. The Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

PICKNEY, MARIE, age 82, of Heritage Center, passed away early this morning at Morristown-Hamblen Heathcare System. Arrangements to be announced by Westside Chapel Funeral Home.

PUGLA, FLORENCE R., 75, of Morristown, formerly of Princeton, passed away Saturday, May 29, 1999 in Morristown. She was born February 11, 1924 in Pikeville, Ky. to the late Ran Roberts and Maxine Hale Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Pugla. She was a homemaker and lived in Morristown for the past four years with her daugh-ter, Mary Jo Lewis. Survivors, 2 daughters, Mary Jo Lewis of Morristown, Jacqueline Phipps of Peterstown, W.Va.; 2 sons, Glen Roberts of Fort Hill, N.C., Doyle Maskello of Princeton; 3 step-daughters, Peggy Hower-ton of Matoaka, Margaret Milam of Bluewell, W.Va., Victoria Adams of Princeton; 2 stepsons, Louis Pugalee of Matoaka, Dan Pugalee of Troy, Ohio; 1 brother, Doyle Roberts of New-port, R. I.; 1 sister, Gladys Mills of Keysville, Va.; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 1999 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends attending the service are asked to meet from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home is in charge of ar-rangements.

STANFILL, MAZIE P., age 90, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 1, 1999. She passed away at her home after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Stanfill and a daughter, Patsy Vining. She was the last surviving member of Jack and Mary West of Morristown. She was a long-time member of Westview Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, James Stanfill of the home and one daughter, Juanita Clark of Forest Lake, Minn., and son-in-law, Warren Vining of Minn. She was the proud grandmother of 9 grandchilden; 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; 4 special nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2p.m. Friday at Westside Chapel with Rev. Charles Smith and Rev. Richard Crayne officiating. Interment to follow in the Jarnagin Cemetery. The family will re-ceive friends Thursday 7- 9p.m. at the funeral home. Westside Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

TURK, IVA FAIN, age 104, of New Market, passed away Monday, May 31, 1999 at Jefferson City Health and Rehab Center. She was a member of Youngs Memorial AME Zion Church. Preceded in death by husband, Graham Turk; daughters, Doris Chambers, Anna Belle McFarland; grandson, Calvin Chambers; parents, Laura and William Fain; 1 sister; 4 brothers; 1 great-nephew. Survived by nieces, Katherine Stephens, Precious Munford, both of Knoxville and Ivory Haygood of Pa.; granddaughter-in-law, Florance Chambers of Ga.; sister-in-law, Odessa Fain of New Market; 3 great-nieces; great-nephew, Ross Cunningham Jr. Funeral service 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fielden Chapel with Rev. General Brazelton officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Thursday at Youngs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 7-8 p.m. at Fielden Funeral Home, New Market. Fielden Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

CASE, LARRY EUGENE, 40, of Church Hill, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away at his home. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Fielden Funeral Home, New Market.

HATFIELD, MS. LILLI B., age 66, of Morristown, TN., was born January 6, 1933, and passed away April 25, 1999 at the Fort Sanders Presbyterian Hospital in Knoxville, TN. She was a member of the Dutch Valley Baptist Church in Washburn, TN. She was preceded in death by, daughter, Ann Townsley Lambert; husbands, Homer Townsley, Raemor Collins, Tom Hatfield; parents, Hobert and Mae Baldwin; several brothers and sisters. She is survived by, son, Homer L. Townsley of Morristown, TN.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ike and Brenda Baldwin of Morristown, TN., Wayne and Bernneta Baldwin of Ottawa Lake, MI., Tom and Wanda Baldwin of Chester, AR.; sister and brother-in-law, Ester and Wayne Thompkins of Morristown, TN.,; sisters, Mossie Harrell of Washburn, TN., Linda Carmack of Morristown, TN.; and several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 1999 at Claiborne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Savage officiating. Music by Elms Spring Singers. Pallbearers: Billy Williams, Lonnie Young, Randy Harrell, Jack Hazeltine, Ronnie Hazeltine, Ronnie Mayes, Brandy Baldwin. Burial in the Wood/Cosby Cemetery. Claiborne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

PURKEY, KYLE JUNIOR, age 49, of Morristown, passed away Monday, April 26, 1999. Funeral services to be announced by Stubblefield Funeral Home.

ROBERTSON, J.C., age 66, of Swainsboro, GA., formerly of Morristown and a former employee of Berkline, passed away Saturday, April 24, 1999. He was a member of Adriel Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Barbara Buell; brother, James Robertson of Morristown and sister, Ollie Oliver of Bean Station. Funeral services were held Monday, 3:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Swainsboro, GA. Compliments of Westside Chapel Funeral Home.

SEAY, JAMES H. (CHARLIE), 79, of Bulls Gap, passed away April 26, 1999, at his home after a lingering illness. He was a Saint of God and served as Deacon of Speedwell Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Janie Dean Seay. mHe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Jeffers Seay; one daughter and son-in-law, Imogene and David Lawson; one son and daughter-in-law, Sammy K. and Vicki Seay; one granddaughter, Mrs. Todd (Sheri) Ives,; three grandsons, Rodney and wife, Kasey Lawson, Jamie Lawson, Sammy James Seay, all of Bulls Gap; two sisters, Mrs. Lorraine Williams of Bulls Gap and Mrs. Ruth Wheeler of Talbott; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 27, 1999, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. followed by the funeral services at 8:00 p.m. at Colboch-Price Chapel with Rev. Tecky Hicks and Rev. Harold Manis officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Speedwell Baptist Church Cemetery. Colboch-Price Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

SPIVEY, MRS. ODESSA AGNES KELLY, age 77, of Jefferson City, passed away at 11:17 p.m. Sunday evening, April 25, 1999 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. A member of Wooten’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by mother and father, Elsie and Ben Kelly. Retired employee of Phillips Consumer Electronics with 30 years service. Life time member of the Holston Chapter of the Eastern Star No. 384. Survived by husband, James H. Spivey, Jefferson City; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Pat Spivey of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Brad Spivey and wife Jody of Morristown, Michele O’Neal and husband, Tom of Alpharetta, GA., Brian Spivey and wife, Julie of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Erin, Jake, Taylor, and Josie Spivey. Funeral services 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 1999 at Farrar’s Chapel, Jefferson City, with the Reverend Millard Johnson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for 10:00 a.m. interment service. Family will receive friends 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, is in charge of arrangements.

TOMASULO, JERRY G., age 77, of Ranch Rd., Dandridge, born Dec. 13, 1921, Brooklyn, N.Y., passed away Saturday April 24, 1999 in Knoxville. He was retired manager for Southern Bell. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at Dandridge Chapel of Farrar Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Entombment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge is in charge of arrangements.
