LAWSON, JAMES HARVEY, age 77, of Bean Station, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 1998. He was a member and deacon of Yellow Branch Missionary Baptist Church; was retired from Hodge Electric and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Ida Lawson. Survivors: his wife, Ester Trent Lawson; children and their spouses, Kathy and C.J. Trent, Mooresburg, Karen Lawson, Bean Station, Vernon and Cyndie Lawson, Morristown, Jeff Lawson, Bean Station; grandchildren, Jane Trent, Mark and Trish Trent, Sarah and Dan Wolfe, Josh Vaughn, Paul Lawson; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Brooks, Myrtle Wice, both of Morristown. Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Yellow Branch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Homer Collins, Rev. Buster Jarvis and Rev. Howard Johnson officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment in Yellow Branch Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 5266. BRISENTINE, JOSEPH D. (JOEY), age 20, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 1998, at Heritage Center. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Rasnick. Survivors include his mother, Darlene Rasnick and father, Timothy Brisentine of Talbott; daughter, Lindsey Johnson of Middlesboro, Ky.; sisters, Angel, Lacy and Shanndella Brisentine; brothers, Timothy (Bucky) Brisentine of Talbott and Shannon Brisentine of Morristown; grandparents, Harrison and Margaret Rickard and Roxie Rasnick of Cleveland, OH.; very special friend and big brother, Officer Bob Cleveland; special uncle, James Rasnick. WARD, MR. JAMES ELIJAH, age 58, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Greeneville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998. MCMAHAN, EARL KERMIT, age 93, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 1998, at his residence. He was a member of Catherine-Nenny Baptist Church, and formerly employed at Morristown Chest Co. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas James and Cora Haun McMahan; wife, Zoe Lena Glasscoe McMahan; sons, James Thomas, Oglevia (Jeep) and Francis Howard McMahan. Survivors include daughters, Bernice M. Bewley and Nell R. Lawson of Morristown and Flora Katherine (Tiny) Reed of Nashville; sons, Earl Conrad McMahan of Morristown, William Kermit (Bill) McMahan of Marigate, Fla., Guy Coolidge (Dock) McMahan of Morristown and Wilbur Eugene McMahan of Talbott; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild.; several nieces and nephews; Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. GREER, JOANN R. LAWS, age 62 of Dandridge, TN formerly of Greene County passed away Saturday, December 26, 1998 at the family home following an extended illness. She was a loving wife, mother and nanny. Daughter of the late Lawrence and Hettie Blake Laws of Greene Co., and was preceded in death by brother, Todd Laws. HARRIS, MR. JAMES S., age 76 of 107 Tipton Ave., Church Hill passed away Friday, December 25, 1998 at the Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Harris was a life long resident of Hawkins County, and was a charter member of the Lyons Park Missionary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by one son: Harold Harris. His parents, Tony and Louise Harris, one sister, Betty Harris and six brothers, Tony Harris, Phil Harris, Walter Harris, Burle Harris, Paul Harris and George Harris. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mrs. Mary Jayne Harris of the home, one daughter Nina Spears and son-in-law, Hugh Spears of Church Hill, one grandson, Joel Shane Spears, Church Hill, four sisters, Margaret Harris, Mary Diamond, Louise Harris all of Rogersville, and Virginia Winkle of Arizona, three brothers, Woodson Harris of Rogersville, Rev. Preceded in death by her parents, James Gilmer and Sudie Bolden Spears, husband James Carroll and brother, O. Ronnie Spears. Survivors: sons, Jim, Bill, Anthony, Ernie, John and Sam Carroll. He attended Friendly View Baptist Church, was a retired truck driver, former Captain of Color Guard of V.F.W. Post #5266 and a life time member. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and Air Force of the Korean War. Preceded in death by his parents, Hoil and Maude Carroll, brother Grant and Ray Carroll and sister Roxie Greene. Survivors: wife, Elizabeth Carroll of Morristown; daughters Teresa (Larry) Arnwine and Peggy Carroll. Grandchildren, Christy (Josh) Wilson and Jeff Arnwine. Brother Kermit Carroll. DEERING, JEFFREY ALLEN, 36, of Morristown, passed away Thursday morning, December 24, 1998, at his home. He was an employee of Shelby Williams for 19 years, and coached baseball for the Morristown Parks and Recreation Department for many years. He is preceded in death by a brother, Deanie, and grandparents William and Callie Deering, and Allen and Helen McDonald. .
