HOLT, MR. EVERETT FRED, age 61, of Bean Station, was born July 13, 1937, passed away on April 7, 1999 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. He was a member of Fair View Methodist Church of Thorn Hill. Preceded in death by one son, Ricky Holt; mother, Hila Seal Holt. He worked for Berkline Company in Morristown for 21 years. He was co-owner of Holt Cabinet Company of Bean Station for 23 years. He sung with Holt Family Singers for 13 years. Church singing was his pride and love, He sang at many churches in several counties. Survived by: wife, Ruby Holt of Bean Station; son, Danny Holt of Bean Station; father, Hubert W. Holt of Thorn Hill; grandson, Shawn Holt; granddaughter, Sarah Holt, both of Bean Station; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Mary Holt of Lima, S.C., Earl and Kathy Holt of Bean Station; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 1999 at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel, Tazewell with Rev. Denver Davidson, Rev. Clifford Dalton, Rev. Jerry Epperson officiating. OSBORNE, WILEY FRANKLIN, age 60, of Cave Ridge Road, Rogersville, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at Holston Valley Hospital, following a brief illness. He was a deacon and member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was retired from AFG in Church Hill. Mr. Osborne was also a lifetime member of local No. 456 Glass and Brick Workers Union. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Austin and Mary Lois Osborne; and sister, Inez Blevins. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Price Osborne of the home; three sons, Johnny Frank Osborne of Ft. Worth, Texas, Wiley Daniel Osborne and Audie Keith Osborne, both of Rogersville; foster daughter, Peggy Wallen of Rogersville; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Osborne of Surgoinsville and Betty Jo Byington of Rogersville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 9, 1999, at Colboch-Price Chapel with Rev. George McCoy and Rev. Johnny Carr officiating. PRICE, MCCAULEY, 76, of Rogersville, died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at the VA Hospital in Johnson City, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Price was a native of Hawkins County,. He was a son of the late George B. and Hallie S. Price. He was retired from American Motors in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Mr. Price was a veteran of World War II. He served with the 379th Heavy Bombardment Group of the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a Prisoner of War for sixteen months and was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart among others. He was preceded in death by three brothers, McGlone Price, Jewel Price and Burnette Price. Survivors include two brothers, Gerald B. Price of Johnson City and McKay Price of Kingsport; one aunt, Edna Flack of Rogersville; one uncle, Houston Price of Rogersville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 1999, at Colboch-Price Chapel, with Rev. Grady Byrd officiating. Following the service, Hawkins County Color Guard will conduct military honors in Highland Cemetery. STAPLETON, KYLE RANDOLPH, 66, of New Market, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at U.T. Medical Center. He was a member and deacon of Beaver Creek Baptist Church where he taught the class of Young Married Couples. He was a retired employee of ASARCO and was currently employed by Lost Creek Golf Course. He was the son of the late R.C. and Birdie Jo Stapleton; grandfather of the late Amy Stapleton; brother of the late Nola Edmonds, Eula Russell, Laura Collins and Dana Stapleton. Survived by wife, Marjorie McGlamery Stapleton; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kim Stapleton, Dwight and Demetra Stapleton; grandchildren, Michelle, Mathew, Brittany, John and Anthony Stapleton, all of New Market; sisters, Emma Templin of Knoxville, Chelsie Lyle and Dorothy Walker, both of Jefferson City; brother, J.A. Stapleton, New Market, George Luke Stapleton, Jefferson City; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Friday at Beaver Creek Baptist Church, Revs. Johnny Mills, Wayne Loy and Kyle Cate officiating. BIRD, ROBERT C. JR., 81, of Greeneville, TN., passed away Saturday evening following an extended illness. Mr. Bird was preceded in death by his wife, Annie McNabb Bird. He is known locally and throughout the state as a businessman and entrepreneur. Survivors include four daughters, Annie Cansler, Lura Bainbridge-Brothers, Linda Laughner, Catherine Bird; and one son, Robert Bird III. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 13 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Services are at the First Presbyterian Church Wednesday, April 14 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. MITCHELL, ELSIE RUTH, age 71, of 308 Locust Court, Greeneville, passed away Saturday, April 10, 1999 at Holston Valley Hospital from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Ms. Mitchell was a purchasing Clerk at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital. She was a long time member of East Rogersville Baptist Church and loving mother and full-time “Nanny.” Ms. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Millie Wilder Mitchell; one brother, John Hubert Mitchell. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Jimmy Drinnon of Rogersville, Leslie and Terry Albright of Morristown, and Susan and Frankie Seals of Mooresburg; four grandchildren, Beth Albright of Morristown, Kayla and Daniel Drinnon of Rogersville and Kendyl Seals of Mooresburg; one brother, Carl Mitchell of Ind.; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 6:00 p.m, to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 1999 at East Rogersville Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Byrd and Rev. Johnny Carr officiating.
