NEWMAN, CECIL RAY, 67, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, March 29 at his home. He was the son of Mary and Edgar Newman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Josie Compton and sister, Bertie Bowman. He was a former employee of Forenta and an Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Compton of Morristown; son, Jim Compton of Morristown; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Steve Mathie of Morristown; grandchildren, Gabrielle White and Matthew Mathie; brothers, Dillard, Troy and Roger Compton; sisters, Helen Fields, Faye Collier and Ruby Bowman, all of Virginia; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives.
