FOWLER, ANNIE M., age 82, passed away Thursday, April 1, 1999 at
Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will
be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday at Westside Chapel. The family will receive
friends from 3-5 p.m. prior to the service.
FULTZ, CHARLIE, age 79 of Jefferson City, formerly of Tazewell, passed
away April 2, 1999 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. The family will
receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral
services will be held at 8:00 p.m. tonight in the Coffey Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Bethel Cemetery.

HARRELL, THOMAS FIELDEN, age 69 of Rosman, N.C. was born June 6, 1929.
He passed away on March 31, 1999 at Transylvania Hospital. He was a
Veteran of U.S. Navy, a Mason and a member of Zion Baptist Church in
Rosman N.C. He is survived by his wife, Imogene Harrell of Rosman,
N.C.; son, Tony Harrell of Brevard, N.C.; daughter, Lisa Carter of
Somerset, Ky.; 5 grandchildren; mother, Vada Wolfenbarger of Washburn;
sister, Delphia Wilmouth of Washburn; brother, Charles E. Harrell of
Knoxville; and a host of other relatives and friends. Masonic services
were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 1999 at
Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services were held at Acuff
cemetery and will be conducted with Military Honors. Receiving of
friends was held at 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, at Coffey Funeral Home in
Tazewell. The minister conducting the services was Rev. Howard Beeler.
Singers were Tammy and Martin Nicely. Pallbearers were J.D. Harrell,
Colin West, Frankie Rucker, David Conant, Jimmy Harrell, Mike Jordan.

Moore, Lilian Clara, age 78, of Morristown passed away Thursday, April
1, 1999 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System. Funeral service will
be held at 2:00 p.m. today at Westside Chapel with Brother Richard
Crayne officiating.
Singleton, J. Wheeler, age 83 of Upper Caney Valley in Tazewell passed
away on April 2, 1999 at Claiborne County Hospital. The family will
receive friends at 7-9 p.m. Saturday and tonight at Coffey Funeral Home
in Tazewell. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at New Bethel
Baptist Church. Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery. Coffey

Trent, Howard William, age 80, of 953 Stanley Valley Road, passed away
at 7:50 p.m. Friday, April 2, 1999, at Holston Valley Hospital after a
brief illness. Born in Hawkins County, he had resided there for most of
his life. He was a member of Unicoi Baptist Church and had retired from
Tennessee Eastman Company after 35 years of service. He was also a
farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sue Couch Trent and
William O. Trent, Sr.; sister, Jean Trent Sampson; and brother, Hugh
Kyle Trent. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Viola Alley Trent
of the home; daughters, Linda Sue Trent-Quillen, Patricia (Pat) Case and
son-in-law, Stanley; son, Billy (Bill) Howard Trent and daughter-in-law,
Sandy all of Rogersville; granddaughters, Cyndi Turnmire, Susan Fields
and Leighann Roberson; grandsons, Josh Trent and Adam Case all of
Rogersville; great-granddaughters, Brittani Fields and Hailey Turnmire;
great- grandson, Ryan Turnmire all of Rogersville; brother, William
Oscar Trent, Jr. of Klamath Falls, Oregon; and several nieces, nephews,
and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at
Colboch-Price Chapel this evening. Funeral services will follow
immediately at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Floyd Looney officiating. Graveside
services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, 1999, at the Trent
Cemetery in Stanley Valley. Colboch-Price Funeral Home will be in

Whitehead, Sally A., age 54, was born on April 20, 1944 and died on
April 2, 1999 at her home. She was a professional beautician. Services
will be held today at 7:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Chapel in Jefferson
City. Visitation will be held today at 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral
home. Burial will be a private service, Monday at Pleasant Grove
(Haworth) Cemetery in New Market. Arrangements will be held by Farrar
Funeral Home in Jefferson City.
HOWERTON, CLAYTON PARIS, Age 76 of Tazewell was born Sept. 24, 1922. He
Passed away on Feb. 26, 1999 at Laurel Manor Health Care. He joined
Yellow Springs Baptist Church at an early age. Later he moved his
membership to Seals Branch Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by
his father, Robert Howerton; mother Lillie (Ratliff) Howerton; three
sisters, Gertie Atkins, Lucy Seals and Gracie Smith. Survived by:
brothers; John Howerton and Dayton Howerton both of Morristown, Tenn.
and Junior Howerton of Tazewell. Sisters: Lona Johnson and Susie
Coffey both of Bean Station, Tenn. Bessie Lakins of Morristown. There
are several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and
friends. Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. Sunday February 28,1999 at
Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell. Cemetery is Turner-Pearson.

LEE, MARY LUCILLE, age 76 of Morristown went home to be with the Lord on
Friday, February 26, 1999 at the Heritage Care Center, following a long
illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer Lee, son, Frank
Lee, and sister Jenny Moore. Survivors include sons Johnny, wife Jan;
Ray, wife Linda; Robert and Tommy Lee; daughters Ruth Wilder, son-in-law
Norman; and Mary Morelock, and son-in-law Richard, several
grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many friends. The family will
receive friends at Westside Chapel Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. Services
will follow at 4 p.m. with Revs. J.B. Gulley and Elmer Lampkin
officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, March 1 at 1 p.m.

MATTOX, AUDREY, age 49 of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday morning
February 25, 1999 at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital. She was of the
Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorena LeRoy
Mattox; sister, Pamela Cram. Survived by daughter and son-in-law; Tammy
and Greg Ballinger. Sons and daughter-in-law; Dale and Christine Collins
all of New Market and Gary R. Talley of Rutledge. Three grandchildren,
sister, Anna Lee Shock of Indiana. Brothers ; John Mattox of
Connecticut, Richard B. Cram of Jefferson City. Several nieces and
nephews and special friend, Sharon K. Condry. Funeral service at 8 p.m.
Saturday, February 27, 1999 at Fielden Chapel with Rev. Rusty Webster
officiating. Interment at 2 p.m. Sunday February 28, 1999 in Mill

MOYERS, BILL, age 72 of Morristown, formerly of White Pine, passed away
February 27, 1999 in Morristown. Arrangements are incomplete and will

PHILLIPS, RALPH H., of Baneberry passed away Saturday, February 27,
1999. He was of the Baptist faith. A retired Lt. Colonel of the U.S.
Army, he was past commander of the 844th Engineering Battalion; past
commander of VFW Post 5266; a Shriner, Mason and Amvet member. Preceded
in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Mark Phillips. Survivors include;
wife Jane Phillips; children are Pamela Phillips Thompson and Peter
Campanella of Florida, Mark Phillips of Morristown, Diana Auberry and
Sandra Whaley of Cleveland. Sister: Sybil Mason of Cleveland.
Grandchildren are: Christopher and Stephanie Thompson of Knoxville,
Kenneth and Deanna Auberry of Lafayette, In., Kelli Auberry of
Martinsville, VA., Eric and Leah Whaley of Michigan, and Nicholas Whaley
of Cleveland. Beloved great granddaughter: Katie Thompson of Knoxville.

several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m.
