DAVIS, ROBERT (BOB) M., age 86, of Morristown passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999. Funeral services 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Stubblefield Funeral Home . Family and friends will meet 10:00 a.m. Friday for interment at Hamblen Memory Gardens with military honors by V.F.W. Post 5266. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown. Stubblefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

GERVASI, CONETTO S. (CONNIE), age 83, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. He was born March 7, 1915 in Manhattan, New York. Mr. Gervasi was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church; a faithful usher for seventeen years. He was a member of Knight’s of Columbus, No. 6730 and 4th Degree Bernard O’Connor Assembly; and was well known to many as a caller at the Knights’ Bingo Game at St. Patrick. The son of the late Salvadore and Rosario Gervasi, he was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Rudolph Gervasi and sister, Sally Leonbruno. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ada L. Campbell Gervasi; sisters, Santa Virzi of NV., Josephine DeMarco, NY, and Ann Nixon of NY,; brother, James Gervasi of NV. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church Mass will be celebrated by Father Patrick Garrity and Father Joseph Brando. Interment Hamblen Memory Gardens, Friends may call at their convenience Thursday at Stetzer Funeral Home with Rosary at 6 p.m. Friends wishing to express sympathy may do so through memorial donations to St. Patrick Catholic Church or the Senior Citizens Center of Morristown. HARMON, MISS AVA LEE, age 77, of New Tazewell, was born May 7, 1921, passed away on Feb. 17, 1999 at her home. She was a member of New Tazewell Christian Church. Preceded in death by her parents, W.E. and Mollie (Durham) Harmon; brother, Lloyd Harmon; sisters, Bonnie Harmon, Alma Harmon and Martha Greene. Survived by: sister-in-law, Jessie D. Harmon of New Tazewell, TN.; cousins, Forrest McKeehan of Chewelah, Washington, Gail Yost of Hamilton, Ohio; special friends, Rufus and Charlene Upton, Johnny Hansard, all of New Tazewell; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 1999 at Coffey Funeral Chapel, Tazewell with Rev. Jody Owens officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes. Singers: Liberty Quartet. Interment in Shoemaker Cemetery. Family will receive friends 7-9 Thursday at Coffey , Tazewell. Pallbearers: Rufus Upton, Johnny Hansard, Larry Duncan, Paul Venable, Keith Harmon, Richard Settlemyer, Rowland Mclluham. JONES, GEORGE CHELSEY, “COB”, age 84, of Blaine, passed away Tuesday at his residence. He was a longtime employee of Renfro Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter C. and Lillie Davis Jones; sisters, Amy Lynn and Hettie Jones; brothers, Wesley, Arthur, Everett and Willis. His survivors: wife, Frances Staley Jones; daughters and sons-in-law, Maxine and Calvin Montgomery, Rhonda and John Clark Jr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Margie Jones, Michael and Ellen Jones; sister, Hazel Greer; grandchildren and spouses, Kelly and Brian Thompson, Kevin Montgomery, Angie Cox, Courtney Jones, Chip and Jessica Clark Andrew Clark, Casey Jones and Joshua Jones; great-grandchildren, Tori Cox, Madison and Mackenzie Thompson, Corey and Gage Montgomery. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hollis Dunsmore and Rev. John Shaw officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Grainger Memorial Gardens with Rev. Gary White officiating. PUCKETT, CLYDE DOUGLAS, age 66, of 391 Lakemont Drive, Mooresburg, passed away at his home, February 17, 1999. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. veteran of the Army and the Air Force. Preceded in death by his parents, Bosworth and Lella Puckett; and brothers, Larry and Riley Puckett. Survivors; wife, Janet Puckett; sons, Anthony Puckett and Donald Puckett of Morristown; step-children, Kimberly Mitchell, Billy McClain and Michelle McClain; sisters, Betty Puckett of Trenton, GA., Eileen Puckett of California, Loren Puckett of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Anthony Puckett Jr., Tiffany and Joshua Puckett; nine step-grandchildren; special friends, Nick Singleton and Donnie Lane. Services will be 8 p.m. Friday at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Byron Chambers and Jr. Loveday officiating. Military graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Stokley Chapel Cemetery with V.F.W. Post No. 5266. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, prior to the services. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

VIRGIN, JOHNNIE G., 83, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 1999 in Pittsfield, Illinois. Arrangements will be announced by Stetzer Funeral Home.

WHITE, CLAUDE HINTON, beloved brother and uncle, age 86, of Blaine, TN., passed away at Ridgeview Terrace Nursing Home on February 16, 1999. He was a member of Red House Baptist Church. Mr. White was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from McGhee Tyson A.F. Base and Air National Guard. He is preceded in death by parents, Luther and Lillie White; brothers, Vaughn, Huell and Boyd and an infant sister. Survivors are; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harrell ”Bud” and Ethel of Blaine, Paris and Theda of Knoxville and L.E. and Betty Jo of Hendersonville, TN.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillian and Seaton Garrett of Knoxville and Carol and Lawrence Weaver of Mascot; sisters-in-law, Imogene White and Marie White, both of Blaine; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary White officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Red House Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith Funeral Home in Rutledge, TN.

BIBLE, VIRGIE MAE ANDERSON, of Warrensburg Community, died Friday night in North Charleston, S.C. Funeral services will be held at Warrensburg Baptist Church on Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bernie Cagle officiating. Burial will follow in the Warrensburg Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to services. The family will receive friends and relatives at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Warrensburg Baptist Church. BURCHELL, INA LEE VOLIES, age 83, of Heritage Center, Morristown, passed away February 21, 1999 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was of the Methodist faith. Preceded in death by her husband, James Grover Burchell Sr., brothers, Clyde, Monroe and Emory Voiles; half-sisters, Cordelia Bowers and Elizabeth Woods; and sister, Mollie Lee Voiles. Survivors: children, Jim (Fern) Burchell of Morristown, Dale (Justine) Burchell of Austell, GA., Diane Holt of Morristown; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Garber of Greeneville; brothers, Paul Voiles of Mosheim and Floyd Voiles of Greeneville; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Lloyd Burchell officiating. Interment will be in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Mayes Mortuary. Friends may call at their convenience at the home of Diane Holt or Jim Burchell. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

CARTER, LEOTA BERNICE OWEN, born January 13, 1937, passed away February 20, 1999 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Manley Baptist Church and a life long resident of Morristown. Preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Marie Carter. Survviors: daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and John Hislop Jr., Tracee and Don McFarland, Carol and Greg Wolfenbarger; grandchildren, Beth, Richard, David, Rebekah and Andrew Hislop and Seth and Cale Wolfenbarger; and extended family and many friends. Services will be 8 p.m. Monday at Manley Baptist Church with Rev. J. Earl Stroup and Dr. Richard Emmert officiating. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Manley Baptist Church. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

HOLT, BRADLEY MICAH, 16, of 6237 Nightingale St. Morristown, went to be with Jesus Christ, his Savior, Saturday morning Feb. 20 at U.T. Medical Center, after suffering injuries from a car crash. He was student at Morristown Hamblen High School West. He attended Pleasant View Baptist Church. Brad leaves behind his devoted mother Elaine Holt of Morristown, father Steve Holt of Morristown, cherished sister Jamie Holt, grandparents; Dorothy Cameron and the late Harry Cameron of Rutledge; Virgie Edgar and the late Jim Holt of Morristown. He is survived by aunts and uncles; Olen and Darlene Cameron of White Pine; Bill and Mary Cameron of New Market; Leta Owens and Tony Mynatt of Rutledge; Jimmy and Donna Cameron; Faye and Alan Stallard of Talbott; Susie and Woody Harness of White Pine, and numerous cousins, friends and family members. The family of Brad will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22, 1999 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown. Funeral service will begin at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service and interment will be conducted by Dr. Larry Parrot and Reverend Calvin Helton. Family and friends of Brad will gather at Jefferson Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday for a graveside service. West side Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

HOPPER, CLEO BELLE, age 85, of Laurel Wood Apts., Morristown, passed away February 20, 1999 at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Morristown and retired from Standard Knitting Mills in Knoxville. Preceded in death by her parents, George and Maggie Hopper and niece, Robin Bruce Guinn. Survivors are: brother, T.J. Hopper of Dayton, OH.; sisters: Faye Robertson of Morristown; Jean Jinks of Blountville. Brother-in-law and sister: Joe and Joyce Bruce Vile of Talbott. Several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Services will be 8 p.m. Monday at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Danny Georges officiating. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1606, Morristown, TN. 37816-1606. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
