SIMPSON, CHARLES, 72, of Morristown, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, at the V.A. Medical Center in Mountain Home, TN. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Allen Funeral Home.
ALDER, PAUL V., age 65, of Tipp City, died Monday, February 1, 1999 at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was retired from GM Delco Moraine, and was also a farmer. He was a member of the Trotwood Masonic Lodge No. 755, and Scottish Rite; Ohio Horseman’s Council; member Miami County Democratic Party. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Willa Mae Alder. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Richard V. and Suzanne Alder of Tipp City, Rodney Alder and Virginia Lewis of Huber Heights; granddaughter, Lee Laura Alder; sisters and brother-in-law, Joanne and Mark Horner of TN., Polly Riley of TN., Betty Jean Baker of TN.; the mother of his children, Evelyn Alder; special friends, Dorothy Neeley and Frances Trent, also numerous relatives and friends. Funeral service will be Thursday 2:00 p.m. at the Terebinski Funeral Home, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City, OH., with Rev. Joe Haase officiating. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday 12-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for crippled and burned children. ELLISON, JEWELL PUFFENBARGER, age 57, of 5720 Sunset Lane, Morristown, passed away Saturday, January 30, 1999, at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar G. Puffenbarger. Survivors include: husband, James Ellison of Morristown; sons, Adam Ellison of New Orleans, La., Scott and Anna Ellison and James of Sweden; mother, Lucille G. Puffenbarger of Warm Springs, Va.; sisters, Imogene P. Boyette of Warm Springs, Va., Libby P. Ginger of Clifton Forge, Va. The family of Mrs. Ellison will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday evening at Mayes Mortuary in Morristown. The body will then be taken to McLaughlin Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Va., for a visitation Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, February 5, 1999 at Hot Springs Presbyterian Church. FORD, MILDRED INMAN, age 70, of Knoxville, passed away February 1, 1999 at her home. Member of Cumberland Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Martin and Myra Inman; brothers, Clarence, Martin, and Louis Inman. Survived by husband, Robert Henry Ford; son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Judy Ford; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane Ford, Kay and Rick Dunn and Tina and Johnny Moon, all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Andrea, Jeremy, Jessica, Victor, Megan, Lindsay, Cody, Samantha, and Tayler; great-grandchild, Sydney; sister, Stella Long of Colorado. GILMER, GEORGIA A., age 82, of 1459 Devault Street, Apt. 21D, Morristown, TN., passed away February 1, 1999 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare. She was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Roy Gilmer. Survivors: children, Tim Gilmer, Tony Gilmer, Shirley Dukes, David Gilmer and Lois Britt, all of Morristown; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mayes Mortuary with Dr. Kenyn Cureton officiating. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bethesda Cemetery. He was retired from Magnavox and was preceded in death by parents, John and Mary Jane Harris; son, Richard Carlton Harris; three brothers and one sister. OWENS, EDNA C., 53, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, January 31, 1999, at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare. She was preceded in death by her parents, Connell and Lena Carr. She was of the Holiness faith. Survivors include her husband, Estel Owens; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Sharon Owens, Kenny and Melinda Owens, and Steve and Kim Owens, all of Morristown; and five grandchildren. BROOKS, UNA V., age 78, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, January 28, 1999 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Brooks; parents, Charlie and Lena Martin and brother, Estel Martin; Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Terry Stout of Morristown; step-grandchildren, Tim Stout of Boca Raton, Florida, April Clark of Hereford, North Carolina and Amber Stout of Morristown; two step-great-grandchildren. FREEMAN, SERETTA M., “SISSY”, 82, of 210 East Louise , passed away Friday, Jan. 29, at M-H Hospital. Mrs. Freeman was born April 7, 1916 in Morristown, TN., to Samuel Wallace and Josephine Hale Walleye, and was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Elizabeth Moore Thomas, Gladys and Hazel Wallace; three brothers, James S. Wallace, Samuel Wallace Jr., and Albert Wallace. She is survived by husband, Alfred Freeman of California; two sisters, Mary K. Sanders, Estelle Powell of Detroit, Mich., and devoted nephews, George Moore, William Stokes; devoted niece, Billie Stokes, and several other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Mrs. Freeman was a member of Faith Temple COGIC. Family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 4 at Dockery’s Funeral Home from 6-7:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation.
