WEST, EDGAR A. “EDDIE,” age 75, of Jefferson City, formerly of Rutledge, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning, January 30, 1999 at the Veterans Administration Nursing Home in Mountain City, Tennessee following an extended illness. Mr. West was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Jefferson City; a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army, and was the son of the late Ulysses and Gertrude Williams West. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Alice Louise West of the home; sons, Fred West of Jefferson City and Robert West of Jefferson City; daughters, Barbara Sellers of Rutledge, Brenda Jones of Rutledge, Doris Duck of Rutledge, Carolyn Kuykendall of Jefferson City, and Kathy McGinnis of Jefferson City; step-sons, Larry Nicley of New Market and Ricky Nicley of Jefferson City; step-daughters, Betty Everhart of Jefferson City, Barbara Hall of Morristown, and Bonnie Dalton of Jefferson City; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Ethel Farrow of Rutledge; brothers, Roy West of Rutledge, and Amos West of Rutledge; and numerous nieces and nephews. WINSTEAD, FRANK, age 77, of Washburn, was born Sept. 26, 1921, passed away on Jan. 31, 1999 at Mountainview Veterans Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II. He earned a Good Conduct Medal, A.P. Service Ribbon, 4 Bronze Service Stars, A Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and one Bronze Star. He was saved in a fox hole in the Guadacanal of the Solomon Islands. He was preceded in death by two sons, Darrell and Danny and one grandchild, Tony Wayne Satterfield. survived by wife, Lucy Winstead of Washburn; son and daughters-in-law, Ronnie ”Cotton” and Marcella Winstead of Bean Station; daughter, Ruth Ann Satterfield of Bean Station; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gary Wallen of Morristown, Darlene and Wayne Coffman of Morristown; eight special grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends. DEBORD, KENNETH H., Highway 31 Mooresburg, died Monday, January 25, 1999 at his residence. At the time of his death Mr. DeBord was retired, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mooresburg. Mr. DeBord was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hugh and Pearl Richardson DeBord; one infant sister and two infant brothers. Survivors include one son, Brant DeBord of Milwaukee, Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. George (Norma Lochiel) Livesay of Kingsport, Mrs. Gordon (Pauline) Hopson of Greeneville and Mrs. Ronald (Lillie) Dickenson of Kingsport; five brothers, Elmer DeBord, Clyde DeBord and Larry DeBord, all of Kingsport, Dwight DeBord of Church Hill and Hugh Kyle DeBord of Morristown; a number of nieces and nephews.
