COMBS, DOROTHY ALENE, age 67, of Morristown, passed away January 24, 1999 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by her father, Roy Combs. HARDISON, CAROL JEAN CLICK, age 76, of Landmark Drive, Morristown, died Sunday, January 24, 1999 at Baptist Hospital of Knoxville. She was born December 19, 1922 in Ironton, Ohio to the late Mildred Norris Miller and John Click. Preceded in death by her husband of 49 ½ years, Henry Alexander Hardison. Mrs. Hardison was a member of Hamblen Chapter No. 31 Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City, N.A.R.F.E. and First United Methodist Church I.B.C. Organization. Survivors include sons, Henry A. Hardison Jr., of Dayton, Ohio, Philip L. Hardison of Knoxville, James A. Hardison of Knoxville, and Thomas D. Hardison of Morristown; daughters, Ruth C. Hardison Barhite of West Palm Beach, Florida, Alice T. Hardison, Showalter of Danville, Kentucky, Susan M. Hardison Hensley of Dalton, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; brother, John Robert Click of Ironton, Ohio. COUCH, REV. JAMES DELMER, born July 9, 1922, of Bean Station, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 4, 1999. He was a minister in the Church of God for 52 years and a veteran of World War II. Rev. Couch was preceded in death by his mother and father, Margret and Estill Couch; his son, Kenneth; daughter, Barbara and granddaughter, Amy Nicole Sizemore. GARRETT, JAMES ROBERT, born August 3, 1920, passed away at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, afternoon February 3, 1999 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Mr. Garrett was a man with great spirit, and was loved by all he touched. He was a member of the Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Talbott and was preceded in death by his parents, B.B. and Edith Garrett. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Walker Garrett; son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Jean Garrett; daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Stuart Houpt, and Linda and James D. GARST, DANIEL PAUL, JR., age 71, 1913 Birdie Street, died Thursday, February 4, 1999 at his residence. Mr. Garst was a native of Washington County, TN., and the son of the late Daniel Paul Garst Sr., (Dec. 1966) and Cora B. Oliver Garst (Dec. 1997). He was a retired Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, having served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was also retired from Cessna Aircraft, Wichita, Kansas. Mr. Garst attended Pinecrest Baptist Church He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Rhea Masonic Lodge. Mr. Garst was preceded in death by his first wife, Zenia Hurt Garst; and one sister. Survivors include: his wife, Frances Taylor-Garst, of the home; four brothers, William W. Garst and Robert C. Garst, both of Crossville, TN., Thomas G. Garst, Jonesborough, and Joseph R. Garst, Johnson City; four sisters, Genia Marie McAmis, Greenville, Geraldine Garst, Jonesborough, Shirley Ann Ayers, Starr, S.C., and Judy K. Holly, Johnson City; two step-children, Dr. Doug Taylor, Morristown, and Jane Taylor Conkin, Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.
