WEBB, BEATRICE (BEA) LUCILLE, age 81 of Rutledge passed away Saturday, December 19, 1998 at Ridgeview Terrace Nursing Home in Rutledge. Survivors include: husband, Homer Webb; son and daughter-in-law, J.C. and Judy Webb of Harrogate; son, David Webb of Morristown; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Sherry Webb of Rutledge; son, Roger Webb of Russellville; and daughter Betty Dotson of Morristown; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday evening at 8:00 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Maness and Rev. Tommy Frye officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Grainger Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. WEST, KATHY DIANE, age 27, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, December 17, 1998, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be Sunday, 2:30 p.m. at Westside Chapel with Rev. Roger Dalton officiating. Interment to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. BOATMAN, WILLIAM M., 55, of Morristown, formerly of Knoxville, died Saturday, December 12, 1998. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had retired from AT&T. He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Boatman and son, Jeffrey Scott Boatman. Mr. Boatman is survived by his wife, Kathy Boatman; children, Todd Boatman of Orlando, Fla., Kristi L. Russell and William M.Boatman Jr., both of Knoxville; mother, Mary Ruble of Powell; brother, David E. Boatman of Nashville; grandchildren, Devon and Kacy Russell, and Timothy Boatman; three step-children, Rob, Nick, and Michael Spirko. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. Military honors will be presened by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. COX, NAOMIE, of Talbott, died early Sunday morning, December 13, at her home. She was a long-standing employee of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., of Morristown. She was also a faithful member of Cedar Hill Church of God. Mrs.Cox was preceded in death by her husband, William Hugh Cox. Survivors include her sons, Rev. Douglas Hugh Cox of Morristown, Rev. Allen Dale Cox of Jamestown, and James Darrell Cox of Talbott; daughter, Patricia Ann Carr of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; sisters, Cynthia Guinn of Talbott, and Cora Cooper of Knoxville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Cedar Hill Church of God. The Rev. J.W. Norris and Rev. E.K. Waldrop will officiate. Interment will be in the Sunderland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday at Mayes Mortuary where Mrs. Cox will remain, until placed at the church thirty minutes prior to services. DEWALD, CHARLES R. “TINY,” 66, of 27 Sand Valley Road, Jonesborough, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998 at his residence. He was a Washington County native and a son of the late Beulah Dewald. He was formerly employed as an Agent-Operator for Southern Railway. He was a Methodist. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Brett Garland, in 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Garland, Jonesborough; son Charles “Chuck” Dewald Jr., Morristown; sisters Dorothy Heaton, Orlando, Fla. and Mabel Ruth Sutherland, Jonesborough; brothers Lester Dewald, Tuscaloosa, Ala. and D.H. Dewald, Jr., Churchill, Tenn.; granddaughter Melanie Garland, Jonesborough; grandsons Charles “Chuck” Dewald II, Jamie Dewald and Scottie Dewald, all of Morristown; great-granddaughter Brett “Little B.” Garland, Jonesborough; great-grandson Jordan Garland, Limestone and special aunt, Evelyn McCall, Limestone. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, With the Rev. Richard Emmert officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
