WILSON, NELLA MAE, age 76, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, February
4, 1999 at Ft. Sanders Hospital in Knox-ville. Funeral services will be
Sunday 8:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Jones and
Rev. Stan Chaney officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, 12:00
noon in the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville. The family
received friends Saturday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will also
receive friends Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. before time of
services. Westside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

WOODS, KATE DELORIS (KITTY), age 72, of Newport, died Friday evening at
her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward B. Woods,
Sr.; daughters, Glenda F. Stewart and Janice M. Bethea; parents, Miles
and Elsie Davidson; brother, Elfonzo; and mother-in-law, Sarah Woods.
She leaves to mourn: children, Edward B. Jr., Mary Florence, Kevin D.,
Wesley R., Catrina A. of Newport, Phillip R., Cape Coral, Fla.;
step-daughter, Sandra Grace of Lansing, MI.; four daughters-in-law;
Cher-laine, Karen, Kennete, of Newport and Darlene of Cape Coral, Fla.;
three sons-in-law, Terry Stewart, Randy Bethea of Newport, and Harold
Grace of Lansing, MI; twenty two grand-children; ten
great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Louise Davidson; and brother-in-law,
Robert Woods of New-port. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends. Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Tues-day at the Manes Funeral
Chapel with the Rev. H. Gerald Hodge, the Rev. Walter Bryson, the Rev.
Anthony Cannon and the Rev. Charles Owenby offi-ciating. Graveside
service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Gum Springs Union Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 till 8:00 p.m. prior
to the service. Manes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

HOWARD, WESLEY, “WES,” age 66, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly at
6:45 p.m. Thursday evening, February 4, 1999, at Saint Mary’s Medical
Center in Knoxville. Mr. Howard was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist
Church and was a retired Sales Representative with Brown and Williamson
Tobacco Company with 32 years of service. He was proceeded in death by
his parents, Sam and Beulah Howard; sister, Alma Duck; and brothers,
Homer Howard and Lloyd How-ard. Survivors include his wife of 44 years,
Mrs. Joanne Hux Howard of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and
Beth Howard of Kingsport, Tennes-see; granddaughter, Kristin Howard of
Kingsport, Tennes-see; sisters and brother-in-laws, Eldora Lowe of
Maryville, Ten-nessee and Mrs. Bob (Laverne) Newman of Maryville,
Tennes-see; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Ray and Carolyn Howard of
Strawberry Plains and Cornell and Frances Howard of New Market; and
several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 8:00 p.m.
Saturday evening, February 6, 1999, from the Farrar Funeral Chapel in
Jefferson City with Reverend Mike Murphree and Dr. Doug White
officiating. Family and friends will gather at 1:15 p.m. Sunday
afternoon, February 7, 1999, at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City
and proceed to Eastview Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 p.m. graveside
interment service. The family received friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Saturday evening prior to serv-ices at the funeral home. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Judes Childrens
Research Center, Memphis, Tennessee. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral
Home, 411 W. Broadway Blvd., Jefferson City, Tennessee 37760. Phone

BOWLIN, MARGIE, age 50, of Morristown, passed away Friday, February 12,
1999, at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. She was preceded in death by her
father, Lewis Bowlin; and a brother, H.B. Bowlin. She attended House of
Prayer in Jesus Name of Morristown, Tenn. Survivors include: son and
daughter-in-law, John Edward and Lori Bowlin of Newport; son, Scott
Bowlin of Morristown; mother, Myrtle Nix Bowlin of Morristown;
ex-daughter-in-law, Patsy Bowlin of Morristown; five sisters and
brothers-in-law, Mary and John Fish of White Pine, Ellen and Roy
Tolliver of Mohawk, Vicia and Bob Sensabaugh of Kingsport, Maggie and
Tommy Thomas of Greeneville, Judy and Jim Kooker of Rogersville; four
brothers and sisters-in-law, L.C. and Mary Lou Bowlin of Moshiem, Randy
Bowlin of Morristown, Jimmy Ray and Nancy Bowlin of Surgoinsville, Eddie
Bowlin of Elizabethton; two step-brothers, one step-sister, eight
grandchildren, two aunts, one uncle, and several friends. Several nieces
and nephews and a very special friend, Sylvia Bolling. Funeral services
will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Alan Williams
and Rev. Bud Gregg officiating. Interment will follow at Harrison
Cemetery in Sneedville, Tenn. The family will receive friends from 7
p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday evenings at the mortuary. Mayes
Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

BRAY, MR. ARTHUR, age 71, of Tazewell, passed away at his home Friday
evening. The family received friends 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday at
Coffey Funeral Home, and after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Raven Hill Baptist
Church. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, 1999
at Raves Hill Baptist Church. Burial in the Cedar Flat Cemetery. Coffey
Funeral Home is in charge of ar-rangements.

HAUN, HUBERT ROSCOE, age 86, of 606 Mohawk Street, Morristown, passed
away February 13, 1999 at Heritage Center. Preceded in death by his
wife, Gladys Travis Haun, parents, Mack Lawson Haun and Mattie Lynch
Haun, sisters, Ruth and Florence Haun, and brothers, Jason, Charles,
Murl, Alonzo, Paul and Clyde Haun. He was a member of First Baptist
Church and Wallen-Purkey Sunday School class, an avid member of Senior
Citizens Center and was retired from Berkline, having been one of the
first hired at the original plant. Survivors include: brothers-in-law,
Wallace Travis, Jr. of Morristown, Herbert Travis of Bean Station;
nieces, Barbara Burchell, Jean Haun Hurley, Debbie Green and Jan Hill,
all of Morristown, Mary Snider of Abilene, TX, Edith Jones of Bean
Station; nephews, Johnny Haun of Morristown, Monte Haun of Bulls Gap,
several other nieces and nephews out of state. Services will be 8:30
p.m. Sunday at Mayes Mortuary with Revs. Randy Davis and Danny Georges
officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Jarnigan
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Sunday at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
Senior Citizens of Morristown. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

HENSLEY, CASPER L., age 73, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday,
February 12, 1999 at his home. A member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Retired Auto Parts Dealer of Jefferson City. Preceded in death by father
and mother, Burton and Mamie Hensley, brother, Garfield Hensley and twin
sisters, Mary and Martha Hensley. Casper and Margaret have been married
for 55 years. Survived by his wife, Margaret Brown Hensley, Jefferson
City; sons and daughter-in-laws, Casper (Jimmy) and Kay Hensley Jr., and
David and Mary Hensley, both of Jefferson City, grandchildren, Penny
Cauthen, Sandy Catlett, JJ Shrader, Christy Bracey, Amy Pignettli,
Melissa Patterson. Grandson, Alan Hensley, step-grandchildren, Mary
Helen Hutchins, Carter Burton, great-grandchildren, Drew and Kayla
Cauthen, Tyler and Lauren Catlett, Laura Elizabeth Patterson. A very
dear and special friend, Diane Stallings. Funeral services 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 13, 1999 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend
Sonny Strange and Reverend Bill Winter officiating. Family and friends
will meet 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home to proceed to Jefferson
Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 p.m. interment service. Pallbearers; Fred
Cochran, Raymond Chambers, Roger Goins, Perry Snyder, Alan Hensley and
Larry Rucker. Honorary pallbearers, Wayne Hinkle, Blaine Atchley,
Charles Thomas, John Dunleavy, Sidney Bishop and Shirley Dyer. In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be made to the Memorial Program of St Jude
Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105. The
family received friends 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the
funeral service. Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, in charge of
arrangements.

MOORE, CAROL FISHER, age 55, of Shackleford Road, Mosheim, died Friday,
February 12, 1999 at her residence. She worked for the Attorney
General’s Office in Morristown for several years. The family will
receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday at Doughty-Stevens
Funeral Home, Greeneville. A graveside service will be held at 11:00
a.m. Tuesday morning in Oak Grove Cemetery in Greeneville.
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

NEAL, JOHNNY, age 78 of Jefferson City, passed away 1:00 p.m. Friday,
February 12, 1999 at Jefferson City Memorial Hospital following an
extended illness. He was of the Baptist Faith. Preceded in death by
sisters; Helen Kelley, Minnie Whitaker, and Effie Neal, brother, Henry
Neal. Survived by nieces, Billie Jean Layman of Talbott, Denise Dockins
of Virginia; nephews, Wayne Kelley of Kentucky, and Edward Whitaker of
Knoxville. Several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, February 14, 1999 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend
Herbert Purkey officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m.
Monday, February 15, 1999 at Roseberry Cemetery for a 11:00 a.m.
in-terment graveside service. Family will receive friends Sunday
evening, February 14, 1999 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. prior to
funeral services. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City.

SAWYER, LOLETA, age 69, of Morristown, passed away February 12, 1999 at
NHC Healthcare of Fort Sanders in Knoxville. She was of the Methodist
faith. Preceded in death by her parents, J.L. and Maude Conway Sawyer.
Survivors include; brother and sister-in-law, Lynton and Oneita Sawyer;
sisters, Gertrude Denton, Reble Holt and Clemmie Wishart, all of
Morristown; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 2:00
p.m. Sunday at Glendale Cemetery in Cocke County, with Rev. Roy Van
Miller officiating. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations
be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1606, Morristown, Tenn.

TREECE, GLEN A. (RAB), age 68, of 351 Richardson Street, born December
25, 1930, died February 13, 1999 at his residence. Arrangements are
incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Dockery Funeral
Home. Dockery Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

VENABLE, Mrs. MARTHA THELMA (DAVIS), age 75, of Tazewell, Tenn., passed
away February 11, 1999 at her home. The family received friends 7:00
p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 1999 at Coffey Funeral
Home Chapel. Burial in the Campbell Cemetery at Little Sycamore. Coffey
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
