WOODLE-EADY, Linda Kath-leen
age 46, of West Knoxville, formerly of San Diego, Calif., Washington, D.C, Knox, Ind., and St. Louis, Mo., passed away suddenly Monday morning, Nov. 22, 2004, at Baptist Hospital West. Woodle-Eady was the proud mother of two beautiful daughters who were the most important part of her life. She was active in the Episcopal School of Knoxville, Knoxville Catholic High School and St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church. Survivors include: daughters, Kathleen and Lauren; mother, Sunny Woodle; father, Roy Woodle; sister, Liz Woodle, all of Knoxville; beloved pets, Bon Bon, Sunny and Oscar Julio. SMITH, Paula Gail
born Nov. 18, 1946, passed away in Nosara, Costa Rica, Nov. 21, 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Clara Smith of Texas. She is survived by her husband, Harvey Smith of Knoxville; her daughters, Lisa Rhines and Kristen Stamps of Atlanta, Ga., and Leslie Tucker of Knoxville; her sisters, Terry Denton and Karen Stamps of Lufkin, Texas; and her eight grandchildren. The family received friends Saturday followed by a service at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Sam Dean officiating. Interment was private. SMITH, Virgil Winford
of Farragut, passed away on Nov. 26, 2004. Smith was born in Floydada, Texas, Jan. 15, 1922. He attended Lovell Heights Church of God. Smith was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Cavalry at Ft. Riley, Kan. Smith is remembered as a loving and caring husband and father, and well respected business man in the Knoxville area since 1957. He was founder and owner of Rio Grande, owner of Ace Fence Companies, Winfreds Apparel and Ace Petroleum Company. Smith was an avid golfer and a member of Fox Den Country Club. He was preceded in death by his son, Royce Smith; parents, John and Lola Belle Smith; brothers, J. C. and Floyd Smith; sister, Mildred Watson. Survivors include: wife of 62 years, Gladys Imogene Bridges Smith; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Marilyn Smith, Doyce Smith, all of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Dr. Foy Mitchell Jr. of Athens, Glenda and Steve Brite of Knoxville; grandchildren, Bryan Smith, Darren Smith and wife Angie, Amanda Swanson and husband James, Zachary, Joshua and Valerie Brite, Erin, Isaac and Sara Marie Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Jared and Sabrina Swanson; sister, Letha Mae Hail; brother, Lee Roy Smith; several nieces and nephews. MOWERY, Mae Woods
age 93, of Knoxville, went to be with Christ, Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004. She was a charter member of Central Church of God. Mowery retired from Levi’s with more than 42 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, the late Rev. Wayne Mowery; parents, Grover Cleveland and Ida Belle Finley Woods; two brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her husband, Kermit Dotson, three daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Udell Holt of Knoxville, Helen and Wilford Armstrong of Greenback, Mabel and Lynn Satterfield of Seymour; three stepchildren; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Harold and ILene Woods of Jefferson City; and sisters, Carrie Kerr and Minnie Jo Foster of Piedmont; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Saturday at Central Church of God, Papermill Road, with the Rev. Jack Dean officiating. Interment followed at Highland Memorial Cemetery. LUNDY, Gary David
age 49, of Farragut, passed away suddenly Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was an award-winning sports columnist for the News Sentinel. Lundy was an active member of First Farragut United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, David Lee Lundy. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ross Lundy, and son, Christian Ross Lundy, both of Farragut; mother, Joan Delosh of Goodlettsville; sister, Kathy Jo Lundy Mitchell of White House; sister and brother-in-law, Judy Kay Lundy Witt and Harold Witt of Nashville; mother-in-law, Helen Ross of Farragut; and nephews, Kyle Mitchell and Kevin Witt. The family received friends Tuesday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. Funeral services were held Wednesday at First Farragut United Methodist Church, with the Rev. age 90, of Knoxville, formerly of East Longmeadow, Mass., West Palm Beach, Fla., and Lantana, Fla., passed away Friday evening, Nov. 26, 2004, at NHC in Farragut. Lundgren was the loving wife of John R. Lundgren. She was a payroll supervisor with Standard Electric Time in Springfield, Mass. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile. Her hobbies included dancing, traveling and crafts. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Besides her husband of 66 years, survivors include her children, J. Richard Lundgren and wife Linda of Lakewood, Colo., Beverlee J. Katsoulis and husband John of The Villages, Fla., Robert B.
