LaFollette, passed away Thursday, April 8, 1999, at her home. She was
of the
Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Roosevelt
"Ted" Davenport; parents, Sherman and Florence Wilson Brown; brother,
Clifford Dob Brown. She is survived by: husband, John Carroll, Jr.

TATE, JAMES N. (JIMMY) - age 83, of Robbins, Tenn., passed away Wednesday,
April 14, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born in
Fayetteville, Tenn. January 6, 1916. He was a son of the late William
R. and
Lucille Riddle Tate. He was a member of the Barton Chapel Congregational
Church in Robbins, where he served as trustee for many years. He was
currently serving as vice-chairman of the church board. In addition,
he
served on the parish council, officers nominating committee, budget
committee
and thrift shop committee. Jimmy owned and operated Tates Distributors
in
Robbins for over 50 years. He was a 50 year member and past master
of Masonic
Lodge #690 in Robbins. He was chairman of the Scott County Democratic
Primary
Board for several years and was a member of the advisory board of First
National Bank in Oneida, Tenn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded
in
death by his wife, Reba Ruth Ross Tate; and one brother, William Tate.
He is
survived by three sons, Norton Tate and wife, Zelma of Huntsville,
Tenn.,
John Tate and wife, Brenda of Elgin, Tenn. and David Tate and wife,

JONES, JAMES ALLAN - age 69, of 333 Dogwood Ln., Jacksboro, passed away
Saturday, April 17, 1999, at his home. He was a veteran of the US Navy
from
1947 thru 1956. He completed US Naval Training Ctr., Great Lakes, Ill.,
Sept.
8, 1944; graduate of Hospital Corps., class 16, April 9, 1948; graduate
of
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, class of 1961; chemist for the Federal
Food and Drug Administration for 28 years. Mr. Jones was a former treasurer
for the Campbell County Library Board, and a member of the Friends
of the
Jacksboro Library. He was active in SOCM (Save our Cumberland Mountains).
He
lived for many years in Eagle River, Alaska and maintained a long lasting
relationship with many friends. He loved his home and was fortunate
to be
surrounded by caring neighbors in Jacksboro. Mr. Jones was also a private
airline pilot. Father Greg Neuzil of Our Lade of Perpetual Help prayed
with
him and family members before he passed away. Mr. Jones was preceded
in death
by his parents, James E., Jr. and Ruth M. Hardy Jones; and by beloved
sister,
Lois; and brother, John Paul. Mr. Jones is survived by his son, Allan
Patrick
Jones; two grandchildren, Michael A. and Trevor L. of Burlington, Mass.;
two
brothers, William F. of Alabama and Thomas M. of California; nephew,
Michael;
and nieces, Patricia and Daniell; and aunts, Lillian and Mary Jones,

N.H.; and many cousins. At his bedside with his son and brothers were

great-grandmother, and a friends to all she met. She loved to cook
and spend

MOORE, EMERSON JAMES - 82, departed this world for a better place, for
a long
awaited reunion with his mother and father, Dempsey and Cora Moore,
on April
17, 1999. They were joined in Heaven by sisters, Lori Bell Miles and
Pearl
Miles. Mr. Moore was retired from Union Carbide K-25 as a truck driver
in
1980. He was a longtime member of Chapman Grove Baptist Church, where
he
attended for many years with perfect attendance. He leaves behind many
saddened family members and friends: his wife of 61 years, Arbie Moore;
and

BULL, MRS. ANNA MAE - age 67, of Tazewell, Tenn., was born October 11,
1931,
and passed away quietly on April 20, 1999, at her home after a long
illness
surrounded by her family and loved ones. She professed faith in Christ
at an
early age and joined Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church and later
moved
her letter to Seals Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained
a
faithful member until death. She was a life member of the Disabled
American
Veterans Auxiliary, member of American Legion Auxiliary and an avid
hobbyist
and teacher in ceramics. She was preceded in death by: her parents,

(Chuck) and Rebekah Ramsey Collingsworth; infant sister, Mollie Jane

member of Seals Chapel Baptist Church in Tazewell and was born December

1910 in Harlan County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Steven and
Bertha
Payne Burke. Preceded in death by husband of 70 years, Silas Andrew
Bull,
Sr.; daughter, Sue Ann Bull; brothers, Herman, Ira and Joe Burke. Survivors:
sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence and Eva Bull, Lloyd and Goldie

COOPER, LTC (Retired) HENRY REYNOLDS, SR. - of Norris, died Sunday,
April 18,
1999 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge after a brief illness.
He was
born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1911 and entered
military
service in 1940. He served in North Africa, England, Belgium, France
and
Germany during World War II and numerous stateside and overseas assignments
during his 23-year Army career. After retiring from active military
service
in 1962, he served as Civil Defense Director for The City of Wilmington,
Delaware and then an additional 10 years as Administrator of Riverside
Hospital, Wilmington, Delaware. He retired to Orlando, Florida in 1975,
where
he continued his affiliation with The Masonic Lodge and other civic
organizations. In 1990, he moved to Norris, Tennessee, where he was
active in
The Norris Religious Fellowship and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day
Saints. He was an accomplished musician and enjoyed playing and teaching
piano throughout his retirement years. He is survived by his wife of
53
years, Vida P. Cooper of Norris and their 12 children, Robert and his
wife,
Julia, of Oak Ridge; Patricia Carter and her husband, Nick, of Santa
Barbara,
California; Barbara Reynoldson and her husband, Trefor, of Dundas,
Canada;
William Cooper of San Luis Obispo, California; Angela Greenberg and
her
husband, Gary, and Pamela Cohen and her husband, Arnold, of Wilmington,
Delaware; Andrew and his wife, Kerry, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida;
Christopher and his wife, Debbie, Jennifer Alzner and her husband,
Fred,;
Henry Reynolds, Jr. And his wife, Eileen; Vanessa Schweitzer and Keith
Lengler of Orlando, Florida and Sarah Mowery and her husband, Mark,
of
Thompson Station, Tennessee. In addition, he is survived by two children
from
a previous marriage, Dorothea Sines and her husband, Charles, of Hatboro,
Pennsylvania and Lillian Hamilton and her husband, Charles, of Sun
City
Center, Florida. Besides his 14 children, he is survived by 31 grandchildren
and several great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be
held for
family members and close friends at The Tennessee Veterans Cemetery,
Knoxville, Tennessee at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 23, 1999. A memorial
service
for the community, friends and family will be held at The Norris Religious
Fellowship at 4 p.m. Friday, April 23, 1999 with Rev. Dr. Keith Haverkamp

TAYLOR, BOB - age 56, of Rockwood, passed away Sunday, April 18, 1999,
