A former employee of Scovill with 35 years service. Margie loved bowling and enjoyed fishing. The main passion of her life was her grandchildren. Raby, Wayne E., age 88, of Knoxville, passed away early Thursday morning, July 29, 2004 at Park West Medical Center, surrounded by his nieces, nephews and cousins, who were are like children to Wayne and Opal. Wayne attended Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was active in the Truck Stop Ministry of Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a retired Captain from the Tennessee Highway Patrol with 34 years of service. After his retirement, he worked for the City of Knoxville in Risk Management. Wayne was a "Yellow Dog Democrat" and assisted Frank Clement in his campaign for governor. Gov. Clement made his first campaign speech at the Democratic Fish Fry which was held annually at the home of W. H. Raby, Wayne's father. Wayne was a veteran of World War II serving with the Army in the Battle of the Aleutian Islands. Fulbright, Robert (Bobby) David age 33 of Knoxville, passed on Friday, July 1, 2005. Bobby was a loving and beloved husband, father, son and brother. He was a sales representative of Ted Russell Ford and their top Isuzu sales person. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Health Promotion. Bobby enjoyed being the commissioner of fantasy baseball and football leagues and was an avid sports enthusiast and participant. A generous and giving person, his last gifts were as an organ donor. Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents Bobbie and Jonnie Fox. Turner, James Patrick (Buck), age 84, of Lenoir City, TN passed away at his home Saturday, July 2nd, 2005. Buck was a founding member, Acolyte Master, Lay Reader and Chalice Bearer of the Church of the Resurrection, Episcopal in Loudon, TN. He attended St. Andrew’s – Sewanee School, Episcopal. Buck served his country as a Technical Sergeant, 3rd Grade in the United States Army during World War II. After returning home from service, he graduated from Kirkman Vocational School in Chattanooga, TN. In 1984, Buck retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory where he had worked for 26 years as a tool and dye machinist at the X-10 Plant. In his younger years, he was an avid sportsman enjoying deer hunting and gun collecting. Buck is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret H. (Peggy) Turner whom he met while stationed in England during WWII; daughters Peggy Ann Turner of Wanganui, New Zealand, Lynn Denise Turner of Maryville, Sherri Turner-Herrmann and husband Nicholas of Knoxville; granddaughter Amelia Laurens Buffaloe of Knoxville and elder sister Nancy Pollard of Virginia Beach, VA. Buck was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family. He is greatly loved and greatly missed. Kesterson, Alvin Wade (Al), age 78, of Farragut passed away Monday evening, July 4, 2005 at his home. Al was a 20 year veteran of the U S Army and U S Navy serving during WWII. After his retirement, he was a manager for Shoney's for twenty years. He was a member of First Baptist Church Concord and the Pathfinders Sunday School Class. Al was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ora Bailey Kesterson; brothers, Onard and Jim Kesterson. Stafford, Moody F. (Benny), age 72, of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at Park West Medical Center. He was a longtime member of Kingston Pike Baptist Church where he was very active in Sunday School and Training Union as a Director of both, he was also teacher in Adult Men’s and Young People’s Classes. Benny was past owner of Russell and Shields Insurance Agency. He was President of Kingston Pike Baptist Church Brotherhood, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Kerbela Shriners. A Charter President of the Optimist Club, member of the Civitan Club, Ruritan Club and Junior Chamber of Commerce. Benny was formerly elected Loudon Co. Outstanding Young Man of the Year. He was Chairman of Lenoir City 100 year Centennial. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, in Germany during the Berlin Crisis in 1961 and with the Tennessee Air National Guard. Benny was elected to the Tennessee State Legislature in 1970 where he served for 18 years. He served 2 years as House Whip and 10 years as Republican Caucus Chairman. He received the Outstanding Tennessean Award from Gov. Ned McWherter. Benny served on Agriculture, Conservation, Government Operations and House Rules Committees. He was instrumental in securing funding for the Agriculture Expo Arena at Roane State Community College. Benny owned and operated Carriage Hill Ranch where he raised horses for breeding and show. He was preceded in death by his father, M. L. Stafford; brothers, Tommy Stafford, Fordy Stafford, Jack Stafford and Bobby Stafford. Patrick, Frank Jr., age 76, of the Tellico Village Community in Loudon, TN formerly of Crown Point, IN passed away Thursday morning, July 7, 2005, after a long illness. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tellico Village. He has been a loyal Sunday School teacher for 25 years and a faithful choir member for 35 years. Frank was also involved with Habitat for Humanity and did volunteer work at his church. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #697 of Lake County, IN. Lamb, Thelma (Nanny) Johnson Snodderly - of Lenoir City, born January 27, 1927 passed away Thursday, July 7, 2005. She was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Preceded in death by parents, Henry and Fannie Tuck Johnson; brothers, Dubb Johnson and Ronnie Johnson and first husband, John R. Snodderly. Survived by brother, Michael Johnson and wife, Hazel of Loudon; children, Denise Wright and husband, Richard Gleason, Teresa Lamb and husband, John C. all of Lexington, KY, Janie Strickland and husband, Mike of Lenoir City, Karen Oody and husband, Ben of Loudon; grandchildren, Ben Wright and wife, Vickie of N.C., Missy Moore Gibson of Lenoir City, John Lamb and wife, Tracy of Lexington, KY, Greg Brumagen of Lexington, KY, Gidget Ward Lane of Lenoir City, Nick Wright of Lexington, KY, Samatha Oody of Loudon, Ryan Lane of Lenoir City, Ashley, Lindsey, and Michael Strickland, Mandy and Crystal Oody of Loudon; great grandchildren, Keith Frank, Chase Lane, John Austin Lane, Marissa Gibson, Connor White and Passie Oody; several nieces and nephews; special devoted friends, Jay Shubert, Vola Mills and Bob Riggins. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. George Seay and Rev. Johnny Garren will officiate. Jim Dyar, 61, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Enterprise, AL, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2005 at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Jim coached at Iowa State University, University of Pittsburgh, and University of Tennessee and has remained in close contact with many of his former players. After retiring from coaching, he became an agent with State Farm Insurance in Knoxville where he has operated his agency since 1980. He was involved in coaching several youth programs in the Knoxville area. Along with his family, Jim was a member of First Baptist Church Concord. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, J. Guy and Eleanor (Searcy) Dyar. Survivors include his wife Charlie (Ruth) Dyar, Knoxville, TN; 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, David Dyar, Houston, TX, Wade and Jody Dyar, Chattanooga, TN, Zachary Dyar, Knoxville, TN; 4 grandchildren, Kayla and Morgan Dyar, Chattanooga, TN, Nicholas and Nathan Dyar, Chattanooga, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Jacquelyn and Harrell Thompson; the mother of David and Wade, Nancy Dyar; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m., EDT, Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at First Baptist Church Concord, Farragut, TN with Dr. Doug Sager officiating.
