She was preceded in death by parents, Kenneth and Shirley McNabb West. Survived by her husband, Gene Burnette of Loudon; sister, Patty Truby and husband, Dave of CA; brothers, Kenny West of Lenoir City, Larry West and wife, Debbie of Loudon; special aunt and uncle, Dub and Betty McNabb; several other aunts, uncles and cousins. Ramsey, Meredith, age 64, of Lenoir City formerly of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Saturday, July 23, 2005, at his home. Meredith attended Cornerstone Church of God. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War was retired from the Army National Guard with over 20 years service. Meredith retired from JFG in Knoxville after 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Jean and his father, Elmer Ramsey. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Simpson, Michele Carmley and husband, Tommy all of Knoxville; step-son, Bobby Paskell and wife, Patchus with whom he made his home; grandchildren: Tommy, Steven, Timothy, April and Calep; mother, Gladys Lynch of Luttrell; brother, Harland Lynch; sisters, Judy Baker and Sheryl Wyatt; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Family and friends will gather at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery for funeral services with Rev. Barry Woods officiating. Wilson, Reba L., age 96, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Vonore, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2005 in California. She was a member of North Park Baptist Church in San Diego. Preceded in death by parents, Elizabeth Harris Howard and Daniel Boone Howard; several brothers and sisters. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather at Mt. Woodley, Lawrence Robert (Bud), age 84, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2005. He was retired from General Motors in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Bud served in the U. S. Navy during W. W. II. He was a member of the Elks Club in Waterford, MI. He was preceded in death by parents, Harry J. and Flora Sanderson Woodley; sisters, Dorothy Woodley Bailey and Mary Woodley Ashley. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Diggs Woodley; special nephews, Robert Woodley Bailey and Clifton (Butch) Ashley; sisters-in-law, Ruby Diggs Kramer and Mildred Diggs Stutesman; several other nieces and nephews. Arledge, Patsy Jean Williams, age 72, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2005. She was a member of Tellico Village Community Church. Patsy was a loving, caring and giving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by infant son, David Alan Arledge; parents, J. Frank and Flora M. Williams. Survived by her husband of over 53 years, William L. (Bill) Arledge; children, William L. Arledge Jr. and wife, Lyndle of Clarksville, IN, Michael J. Arledge and wife, Michele, Lea Ann Arledge Pipes and husband, Philip all of Prospect, KY; grandchildren: Nicole, Cory, Brittany, Michael Jr., Matthew, Graham and Amanda; sister, Carolyn Conrade and husband, Donald of Charlotte, NC; brother, J. Shelton, Leona Cripps - of Lenoir City, formerly of Nashville, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2005 at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class. A charter member and past president of the Pilot Club of Lenoir City. She and her husband owned and operated the Western Auto in Lenoir City for many years. She was preceded in death by husband, Steve E. Shelton; parents, Lon and Mattie Rhody Cripps; two sisters and ten brothers. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Survived by husband, Leroy Bowser; children, Patricia Brenner of Ohio, Eddie Dean Smallwood of Arizona, Vandora Cline, Sue Bowser both of Ohio, John David Smallwood of Kentucky, Mary Curtis of Crossville, Anita Toney of Maryville, Aleta Tobias of Ohio and William Smallwood of Lenoir City; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Stephens, Vermel Coleman, Glenn Dean all of Ohio, Vanita, Mary Lee Damron both of Kentucky; brothers, Frank Johnson Jr. of West Virginia, Charles Johnson of Kentucky and Tracy Johnson of Ohio; several nieces and nephews. McMahan, Robert Jeffery - age 39 of Atlanta, Ga., and raised in Lenoir City, went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2005. Jeff was a carpenter and a very talented Interior Designer. He was a loving, vibrant and caring person and loved to travel and collect antiques. He lived life to the fullest. Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maude Gowder Littleton, Robert Ira Gowder and Maude and Oscar McMahan. Jeff is survived by his mother, Ira Jane (Chick) McMahan, his twin brother, Scott McMahan and wife Susan, sister, Rhonda Sue McMahan, special companion, Gerald Andrew, and his father, Richard McMahan. He has a special childhood sister, Marie Nalls Hawkins. He has many special nieces and nephews and many loving, devoted and special friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8:15 p.m. Tuesday followed by funeral services at 8:30 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Caldwell and Glyn White officiating. Comer, Mattie Fritts, age 88, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning, July 31, 2005 at her home. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Comer; daughter, Frankie Comer; parents, Effie and Robert Fritts; sisters, Prudie Lowery, Bessie Wright, Ola Beeler, Nancy Snyder and Frances Fritts; brothers, Earnest, John, Richard, Clyde and Maynard Fritts. Survived by daughters, Alvenia Comer of Lenoir City, Ola Ledbetter and husband, Bill of Farragut, Mary Ledbetter and husband, Ronnie of Lenoir City, Becky Cain and husband, Tom of Marietta, GA; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Chapel, 102 B Street, Lenoir City. Ward, Hubert Lee, age 51, of Loudon, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2005. He was a member of Kingston Pike Baptist Church. Hubert was a welder by trade. Preceded in death by parents, Lawrence Martin Ward and Leona Jacobs Ward; brother, Dennis Ward, infant brothers, Michael and Phillip; sister, Florence Lee. Davis, James S., age 75, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, passed away Friday July 29, 2005. He was a member of the Tellico Village Community Church and was retired from the FAA in the Air Traffic Field with 38 years service. James served during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force in Air Traffic Control. He was preceded in death by his parents, James S. Davis, Sr. and Ora Waunita; brother, Roger Scott Davis; grandson, Andrew Clifford Clapper. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Marilyn Magee Davis; children, Deborah Davis Clapper and husband, Jonathan of Nashville, James Clifton Davis and wife, Donia of Orlando; grandchildren, James Robert Clapper, Michael Gail Clapper, Kailey Brooke Davis and Morgan Shaye Davis; brother, Frank Davis, McCloud, OK; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Linda Eskew and husband, Johnny of San Angelo, TX. Stiffin, James Russell (Jim), age 79, of Knoxville, Tn, formerly of Marion, IA, went to be with the Lord away Sunday Morning, June 1, 2003 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Jim was retired from Century Engineering in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge #83. He was of the Lutheran faith. Jim was a veteran of World War II serving with the Army Air Corp in France, England and Germany. He was an avid gardener. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elsie Russell Stiffin; sister, June Stiffin; brother, Frank Stiffin. Kirkland, Ronnie Cecil, age 64, of Greenback, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, June 3, 2003 at his home. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. Ronnie served in the United States Army and was retired from Yale Security Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Viola Kirkland; step mother, Ethel Kirkland; and brother, Billy Kirkland. Survived by his wife of 37 years, Becky Kirkland; daughter, Kathy Wilson and husband, Tom of Loudon; grandchildren, Nicole Wilson and husband, Rob of Powell and Rebecca Wilson of Loudon; step grandchildren, Ashley and Emily Wilson of Loudon; brother, Bobby Kirkland of Maryville; sister, Helen Davis of Vonore; several nieces and nephews. Hammontree, Mattie Plemons, age 97, of Lenoir City, died at her home on June 4, 2003, after a lingering illness. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Hammontree; her parents, Bertha Liles Plemons and Thomas Madison Plemons; brothers, Charlie Plemons and Allen Plemons. Survivors are daughter, Patsy Guy Hammontree of Lenoir City; son and daughter-in-law, Jack A. and Lynda Ray Hammontree of Athens and Knoxville; two grandsons and wives, Thad and Margaret Pardue of Knoxville, Evan and Karen Pardue of Atlanta; great grandson, Dawson Ray Pardue of Atlanta; two nieces and husbands, Faye and Carl Kizer and Carolyn and Charles A. O'Neal, both of Chickamauga, Georgia. She is also survived by dedicated caregivers: Teresa Franklin of Philadelphia, Janice Fine, Willie Stewart and Sharon Noah, all of Lenoir City. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. She loved her Sunday School Class (Fidelis Class) at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Biz DeRieux. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Doug Pipkin; children, Jimmie Pipkin and Janet Freeman both of Knoxville, Michael Pipkin of Lenoir City; granddaughters, Christian Freeman, Margo Hargis and Katelyn Pipkin; grandsons, Foster Freeman and Chance Hargis; three cousins, Mildred Ritchie, Lazelle Hopkins and Faye Wood all of West, Va. The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday followed by funeral services at 3:30 in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Jackson and Rev. Dick DeMerchant officiating.
